“Achoo!” Delia sneezed quietly as she dusted Ash’s room. He had been gone for months, and she had neglected to clean his bedroom as thoroughly as she should have. It was too lonely to do so – she had more fun gardening outside, when she could talk to the neighbors, and still feel connected to society.

She swept a layer of gray fluff off of his desk, smiling at the Pokemon models. Then, she dusted them as well.

How was he doing now? The last time he had called was a few weeks ago, when he had gotten four badges. It still hurt to realize that he called Professor Oak more often than he called her. Just because Ash was now a legal adult and independent did not mean that she would not miss him.

A few minutes later, she picked up a rag, dipped it in her bucket of soapy water, and began cleaning a window.

He would have to come home soon, right?

Delia nodded to herself, and hoped for the best.
