“Why not,” Lance smoothed down her cape. The red silk lining made a wonderful contrast to the black outer layer.

Red sighed. “Because, Lance, everyone is going to recognize you and then we won’t be able to get ice cream without a dozen reporters and fangirls chasing you and if you hadn’t gotten lost in the Celadon Department Store buying capes and had to ask a little girl your face wouldn’t be plastered all over the Fame Checker…!”

“Well, that’s harsh.” She muttered.

“Besides, that should have given you the inkling that maybe wearing them wasn’t the most inconspicuous thing!”

“No one here minds.” The woman pointed out, quite reasonably.

“The Elite Four are all quirky so they don’t count.” Red put his hands on his hips. “Just leave it off? Please?”

She raised an eyebrow.

Red turned the puppy dog eyes on and sidled up to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and leaning into her chest. “Please?” He crooned.

Lance felt her heart, and probably her brain, melt. “When you put it that way, I suppose I have no choice.”

“Yay!” He hugged her tightly.

“But you’ll be making it up to me tonight.” The Dragon Master smirked, before Red grinned, linked arms with his now cape-less wife, and they waltzed out the door.
