“Red,” Lance said reasonably, “No one is going to sneak into your bed at night and try to cut your penis off. I’m not quite sure what you deluded parents have been telling you, but being afraid of castration and using that as an excuse to sleep in my bed is just a bit odd.”

He flushed. “Well… it was worth a try.”

“Been reading Freud, ne?” At the Champion’s guilty look, his friend chuckled. “Most of his theories have been disproved anyhow, so don’t try to use that on me. It would have worked better if you said you were afraid of the dark. That is significantly more common, and you’re still young enough to fake it…” She had to smile.

Did he want her company that badly?

“Oh,” Red deflated.

“But in any case…” She purred, as she pinned the surprised Champion down onto the couch with a fierce kiss, “I’ll gladly keep you company at night.”

He was not sure what to say.

Finally, Lance just kissed him again, and said that she would be happy to be his girlfriend for the time being. He decided that was good enough. And, she was cuddly.

Besides, sex didn’t even register yet.
