She always comes at sunset.

Ash doesn’t mind. He’s rather busy during the day, and it’s easier to hide the fact that he has a girlfriend if she doesn’t show up at midday and hug him. Sometimes he wonders why he keeps it a secret at all, but whenever he looks into her beautiful amber eyes, such inconsequential things stop mattering.

Karen is pretty. She wears dark colors, and she has long, white-blonde hair, slightly curly. She’s stronger than Misty, and her Umbreon can tie his Pikachu any day, much less the rest of her pokemon, but she doesn’t rub her superior battling skills in his face. They cuddle and watch the stars, and don’t talk much, but it’s peaceful.

Sometimes, Ash likes quiet too.

Karen isn’t sure when she fell in love with the scruffy kid. When she first saw him, all she wanted was a quick meal, but his naïveté and zeal for life were – and still are appealing. His blood is as tasty as ever, though he tends not to remember when she feeds. Her hypnosis is very strong, and she never takes too much – just enough to keep going. She wouldn’t want to drain her boyfriend, after all.

Ash is loud and brash and completely unrefined, but opposites attract, as the old saying goes.

He’s also incredibly dense, and he doesn’t pry. So she keeps her condition a secret, and it’s not like they’re having wild monkey sex or he’s in life-threatening danger. This love hurts no one, and maybe they’re both lonely on the inside.

So they stay together.

I don’t write about Karen much, at least not paired with Ash. I don’t think she’s shown up in the anime and Special-verse er, she’s not particularly cool, and game-verse doesn’t give much personality to characters anyways… and er, she turned into a vampire. Oops! Not sure if this counts as OOC or not since she kind of has no personality…
