“Why do you chase me, Red?” Lance asked, as he folded his steel wings neatly behind his back. “You know that you’ll never catch me.”

Red sighed. “I wish I knew.” He said simply. “ Maybe it’s because, I’m willing to take the chance, that someday, I will be able to catch you.” His gray-feathered wings ruffled slightly in the breeze.

Lance shook his head. “It’s impossible.”

“Nothing is impossible until you give up, Lance…”

“You are such a naïve child. Perhaps that is what I love about you.” Lance paused, turning to stand as he brushed a quick kiss across Red’s cheek. “You’re right, I suppose. As long as you don’t up on me, I will not give up on you.”

Red blushed, watching as Lance took off again.

He followed.
