Red isn’t strong. He isn’t. He’s agile, but he can’t punch worth anything and the last time he tried sparring with Green, he wound up bruised and sore for a week.

Green just sighs, but he trains under Chuck, so of course he’s stronger! In any case, Lance remarks, while he’s painting Red’s bruises with arnica tincture; that perhaps he should just lay off.

The Champion hates being beaten, but considering the motley purples and greens dotting his back and legs, he’s very inclined to agree.

“What were you doing, anyways?” Lance asks. “Throwing things at each other?”

Red grimaces. “Falling practice.”

“… I see.” Lance chuckles. Truth be told, he’s quite good at landing, almost catlike, and Red pouts, because he’s pretty sure he’ll never beat his lover in that area.

“Still,” Red comments, as he sighs, “I guess I’m better at Pokemon battling than Green is…”

“Oh, certainly. You are the Champion, after all.”

“And…” Red ponders. “Well, that’s all I can think of right now.”

“You have more romantic talent,” Lance suggests, as he finishes and Red pulls his shirt back on. “Right?”

“I have you.” Red agrees, and kisses Lance. “Thanks a lot!”

“No problem. Give it about half an hour to sink in, and then…” Lance winks, “A nice hot soak wouldn’t hurt.”

“Okay!” His mind is already painting images of what he can look forwards to, and Red very cheerfully skips off to his room.
