“You’re going to kill me, aren’t you?” He asked dreamily.

Golden eyes studied him fondly. “Yes.”

“I don’t mind…” He giggled, sitting up on the bed, feeling soft silk brush his bare skin. “It’s better this way, isn’t it?”

“Infinitely.” His lover agreed, nails curving into sharp silver claws. “I’ll try to make it as painless as possible.”

“All right.” He nodded.

Lance was right. It really didn’t hurt at all…. And since Lance kissed him one last time, he was content…

Lance wiped his hands on the coverlet and waited. The change always took some coaxing, and he was sure that he had done it right this time.

The body began to glow, before a pair of golden wings wrapped round it, completely engulfing the figure.

Perfect.

Destiny put his hands on his hips as his transformation finalized. “Why did you have to do that?”

“Because Ash was irritating, and I love you.”

There was no answer to that.
