You’re crying.

That’s funny. I didn’t know you could cry, but if it were my pokémon lying there dead, I suppose I’d cry too.

The guards are a few yards away, but close enough in case you turn dangerous. I don’t think you will though. I can protect myself, and I’m not Champion for nothing! But the only thing I can do is watch as you bury the last of them.

It’s a mass grave, but it’s the best we can do, and I’m sorry, but after this, we’ll have to say goodbye. I want to comfort you, and I even want to apologize, since its Pikachu’s fault they’re dead, but I can’t.

You finish, and then you stand, and there’s something in your eyes that should be a warning, but I almost miss it, and the guards certainly don’t see.

And then you laugh, and you’re glowing, and the light is blue but it’s not Viridian’s Power. I can tell the difference. It’s something dangerous, and oh Mew you’re dying, but at least you’ll be with them and…

I’m melting.

It should hurt more, but maybe the shock’s not set in yet, but everything suddenly makes perfect sense.

If you die, you’ll take the rest of humanity with you, right Lance?

At least this way, I’ll join you in death, and we’ll have all our pokémon, and whatever virus you’re using will probably spread to cover all of Kanto, maybe even the other regions.

With my last breath, I laugh, and I can almost see your smirk.
