“No,” She whispered, as she looked at her white-gloved hands, tears spilling down her cheeks. “No. NO!”

Lance held her close, wrapping metal wings around her lover’s from. “Red…”

“That little bitch! She did it again! She brought us back…” Red sobbed. “Why, Lance? Why? How many times must we die to protect her before she is satisfied? Why must we be bound to an oath we swore to her Mother millennia ago? Why?”

“I wish I knew.” Lance whispered. “I wish I did, but what can we do against Fate? Think of Charlotte, chained at the Gates for Eternity, now that her power is unnecessary to protect the world. Think of Janine, stripped of her power and forced into her prison…”

“And think of us, who stand guard against the rest of the universe.” Red said bitterly. “What happens when we choose to die, Lance? Would she still bring us back? I think she would.”

“She would,” Lance agreed, and Red sighed.

“I-I thought love would be enough, but-but!”

“But it’s hard, isn’t it?” Lance asked quietly. “Do you want to do it that way then? To be only Uranus and Neptune? No more, no less?”

            Red shivered. “I don’t know.”

“I’m willing to let it go if you are… I’ll use Amnesia Wave, and we’ll forget…”

“No.” Red shook her head. “If I lost you, then I really would have nothing.”

A footstep sounded behind them, but it was only Charlotte, looking haggard as she leaned on her Time Staff.

            “What’s wrong?”

“It’s ending.” She said with a grim smile. “The power has finally run out.”

“It’s finally… over?” Red asked in a small voice.

“No.” Charlotte said bitterly. “But without someone to guard Time, Ashline will be unable to rule any longer.”

As they watched, she casually snapped her Time Staff in half. It shattered into pieces, Garnet Orb and all, as she collapsed to her knees.

They understood then, and Red gave her a grateful smile, even as she saw her Space Sword and Lance’s Deep Aqua Mirror meet the same fate.

            It was finally over.

Yep, Silver – no, Crystal Tokyo isn’t a nice place… and I don’t think Ash is a nice person any more… since she’s Sailor Moon. Stupid powerful people can do a lot of harm and little good!
