            “I’m frightened.” Red whispered.

Lance did not reply at first, his brush still moving over the younger boy’s bare skin. “I know.”

Red looked down, careful not to smudge the designs as he held out his arms, watching as Lance striped them in bits of gold and crimson and black. “Are you sure this is going to work?”

“It is the best bet we have, and you volunteered.” Lance put down his brush, raked his eyes over Red’s nude form critically. “That should do it.”

Red flushed, before Lance picked up the blades. “Are you absolutely certain you wish for me to do this?” Lance repeated.

Red nodded. “I can’t ask any of them to. They wouldn’t understand.”

Lance said nothing, and Red hissed as he felt the first incisions break open, but then the pattern began to glow, and he fell limp.

Lance checked his watch, and sat down to wait.

Red blinked as he glanced around the place he was in. there was green grass under his feet, a bright blue sky sprinkled with fluffy white clouds above, and… a girl with long black hair holding a flaming sword and glaring at him. Uh-oh.

“You shouldn’t be here.” She said. “It’s not your time yet.”

“I’m sorry! I only came here to find my Pikachu!”

Her expression softened for a moment, before she sighed. “Very well. Follow me.”

They walked through plains and forests, even over a river running down to a beautiful ocean, but finally, in a small forest, she stopped.

“There are many Pikachus here. If you can find the one who is yours, you may take him back to Earth with you.”

            “Thank you!”

She faded from view, and Red walked into the forest. He soon found that indeed, there were lots of mice pokémon scurrying around, and not only Pikachus. There were Raichus, Pichus, Pachirisus, Plusles and Minuns…

For a moment, he felt a stab of reproach, since Yellow hadn’t agreed to help him bring Pikachu back, but then he ignored it.

Now how would he be able to tell which one was his?

There were a few apple trees and oak trees around, and he spotted a few Pikachu sitting around a rock drinking what looked like bottles of ketchup, but…

            But where was his?

            Where was Pika?

Maybe if he could recognize Pika by the scar on his ear, but no, there were many Pikachu that were scarred.

He was starting to give up hope when he felt a paw tug on his pant leg. He looked at the Plusle, and it beckoned him to follow.

There in a small hollow tree was his Pika!

Pika hugged him excitedly, rubbing its cheek against his, and together, they walked out of the forest. The strange woman was waiting.

            “So you found him?”

            Red nodded.

“Then your time here is up. I hope to never see you again.” She moved then, and the next thing he knew, her sword was through his chest, but it didn’t hurt, and as he blinked again, he saw himself lying on the ground with Pika on his chest and Lance staring at him.

            “It worked?”

            “Yes.”

“Good.” The Dragon Master said mildly, turning to leave. “Enjoy the rest of your life.” He released his Aerodactyl, and took off.

Pika blinked at Red. He saved me?

            “Yes. Yellow refused.”

Pika deflated slightly. I see. But I’m glad I’m here with you again!

Red nodded, and hugged his friend close.

Death is the only adventure, after all…

Red: *Hugs Lance*

Lance: Are you making a sequel?
Phantomness: Probably. Since TIP mentioned last night that Championshipping in Special was probably one-sided from your POV…

Lance: Ahh
