Diaruga is the Time-Ruling pokémon.

That does not mean it is like Serebii, who can slip through the time stream and disregard such notions as ‘Past’ and ‘Future’.

Do you know what it is really like to be Diaruga?

It is lonely and cold and empty. It is a dark body in an empty shell. Metallic structures rise from it’s back, but really, there is nothing inside.

Red really wishes that he hadn’t chosen to accept Diaruga’s power. He’s lonely.

He had to leave everything behind. His family, his pokémon… and most of all, his lover, Lance.

But things do get better. Diaruga isn’t the only pokémon that lies outside the realm of normal time.

There is also Parukia, the Space-Ruling pokémon.

Lance chooses to accept Parukia’s power when he is asked, and now Red isn’t alone any more.

They’re both alone, the only two pokémon who stand outside of time, watching and building the cosmos and the worlds, but at least they’re together.

They can no longer touch or cuddle or kiss, the things they could do as humans, but for right now – the presence of another in this empty void – it is enough.

It has to be.

Otherwise, they will both go mad, and the worlds they build will be hellish places of drought and flood and death and despair, where no humans or pokémon will ever wish to live. That can’t happen.

So they watch, and try to recapture the warmth they once had.
