Chapter 7

The rest of the trip went by well. They netted about forty pokémon, different species, and at least two of each type, though for some Lance netted three or four, claiming that those species were more delicate and it would be good to have extras around.

Giovanni was pleased when they returned, and gave them a day off.

However, he did not seem to be relinquishing his hold on their pokemon any time soon, and they had not yet tested out Mewtwo.

Red was not quite sure why, but he knew that Lance was planning something, and so he did wait.

Still, he could not completely quell a state of urgency. He wanted to escape, to leave this place. He wanted to save the poor pokémon that Team Rocket kept caged up.

“… And you don’t do the same?”

Well, maybe, he did, but he wanted pokémon as his friends, not just tools of war, and Lance…

            Lance was special.

Red wanted to get Lance out of here too, before he really became as cold as he pretended to be.

            That would be bad.

            “You’ve done well.” Giovanni said.

Lance gave a curt nod, as polite as usual, but his eyes were dangerous. Giovanni did not notice.

“I suppose… well, which one of your old pokémon would you like back?”

Lance blinked. After so long, he was surprised – Giovanni must be feeling generous today. “Aerodactyl.” He said quietly.

“Enjoy.” Giovanni said, passing over a poke ball.

Lance took it, swept a low bow.

            “Dismissed.”

Red was only slightly jealous – after all, Lance had been in secret for three months before he came along…

Still, as he watched Lance check over the Aerodactyl, he couldn’t help but feel twitchy. Would it take six months before he received his pokémon? Or longer? He shivered.

“Would you like to pet him?”

Red snapped back. “Yes!” Lance smiled and the Aerodactyl purred. He ran his fingers over rough skin, wishing it were his.

Lance touched his fingertips to Red’s, and Red caught another glimpse, but this time, the memories were from another. He glanced at the Aerodactyl, eyes widening slightly.

Lance bent over and cut him off with a kiss before he could react, but the images danced behind his eyelids, even as Lance recalled his pokemon and pressed him to the bed and divested him of his clothes, and he came hard over his front as the last of them ended. He felt dizzy, but Giovanni – if he were watching, that pervert – would attribute it to the sex and not anything else.

He was beginning to understand a little more.

Lance was watching him. “How are you feeling?”

“Tired.” He said truthfully. Lance nodded, as he procured a damp towel and began to clean traces of the experience. Red stopped him though, with a grin.

“Not yet… besides, I haven’t returned the favor.”

Lance hid a laugh as Red quickly stripped him, and closed his eyes as he felt his body convulse in pleasure.

            It had to be done.

No, it was not that duty couldn’t be sweet once in a while… There were two snakes in the nest now, and one of them would soon be a dragon. Aerodactyl had been brilliant. Giovanni was sure that he had brainwashed the dragon, but Lance was much better than the fool was at meddling with the minds of pokémon. Especially dragons…

He could have asked for his Dragonite, or one of the two Dragonair, but they were native to Viridian and Aerodactyl was not.

He might be… suspicious, just in case.

The others of his dragons were safe. That was good. Of course Lance knew that, as he was quite irrevocably bonded to each of them, but confirmation was always valuable. And as soon as he got his Dragonair… well… things would heat up.

Red was purring like the cat that had gotten the cream. Lance raised an eyebrow. Such an innocent should not look so debauched.

Still, he let his eyes roam over Red’s body lazily, enjoying the view. “Happy now, child?”

“Immensely.” Red said. Then, he lowered his voice. “Why do you always call me child? Not that I don’t think it’s cute, but…”

“Before you ask, I am not your father.” Lance said, as he took a firm grip on Red’s cock. Red decided that now was probably not the best time to be asking questions and nodded mutely.

Lance licked his lips as he studied Red’s body. “Lie down and spread your legs.”

Red moved languidly, giving his lover a sultry smile. A moment later, his mind had once again flared into intimacy, and he gave thought no more question.

Emotion, pure and simple, moved through him, and for the first time, he saw Lance’s eyes glaze over, almost as if he was transmitting images, but he wasn’t psychic, was he?

            It didn’t matter.

How could he do this? Lance frowned as he watched Red sleep, exhausted. They’d had a mission, of course. Giovanni had been glad to receive the three legendary birds, but now he was after the three legendary beasts of Johto. The man was greedy. All he wanted was power…

Lance heard Aerodactyl’s laughter in his mind. < And you don’t want power? >

< I want power to free you all… and when I cleanse this world of humanity’s taint, I shall bring him with me. >

            < You love him. >

            Lance shrugged. < I suppose I do. >

            < Good…you need a mate. >

Lance sighed as he stroked Aerodactyl’s crest. “I suppose I do…”

“Lance?” Red murmured sleepily. Lance blinked, unaware that he had woken up.

            “What is it?”

“I love you too.” Red whispered.

            Lance froze. < How…? >

            There was no answer.
