The Wand of the Water Guardian reappears! ^^ Does anyone remember this from CCA?

Hm. Emerald. Phantomness likes playing the Swap Battles in Slateport… I own Pokemon Blue, Yellow, Silver, Crystal, Ruby, Sapphire, Leaf Green, and Emerald, but that’s it! I also have a Game Boy Color, a Game Boy Advance, Pokemon Colosseum (finally!) and a Gamecube. That’s all the pokemon I own… so ask Nintendo if you want the rights! Wait… I do have a stuffed Charmander, a lot of pokemon cards, some stickers, and a green pokemon bath towel with Ash and Pikachu on it. Okay. That’s it. ^^

Chapter 7

The trip back to Orre was fast – they used Teleport.

Ashline stared at Lance as he walked on towards Pyrite Town… they were back again… there were probably still shadow pokemon they had not found there… and hopefully, they would find her Drowzee!

            “Are you afraid of me?”

            Ash jumped. “Um… well…”

“If you are, then I need you to stay away from me.”

“No! Nothing like that! Besides, you can’t see shadow pokemon! That means you need me, right?”

Lance frowned. * So… she wants me to need her. Poor child has no self-confidence. * “I suppose I do…”

“Lance? You can really heal shadow pokemon?”

“I thought the display back in the Whirl Islands was enough proof.”

“Ehehehe…” she laughed nervously. “You’re right.”

Lance made a noncommittal sound and walked on…

Now I have to catch all the Shadow Pokemon first, otherwise they’ll get caught up in my Chain Destruction Curse when I attack their trainers… so yes, I am stuck with her for a while longer…

How many are left? I wish I knew….

Lance and Ashline walked on. Finally, Lance got irritated of wandering around aimlessly and getting jumped by trainers, so he took out his Silph Scope and slipped it over his eyes.

“Wow, is that a real Silph Scope?”

Lance shrugged. “Yes, it is.”

“Why are you wearing it? There aren’t any ghosts around here, are there?”

“Well….” Lance smirked. “Shadow pokemon exude a purple aura, no? It can’t be seen with normal eyes. I figured the Silph Scope might help…”

            “Oh!”

“Besides, they might show up as ghost pokemon entries – and in any case, there aren’t any ghosts native to this region, so if we pinpoint their location, we may find something useful…”

The machine began to glow reddish light…

            “Bingo…”

            “What is it?”

“In the Battle Mountain to the North, there’s a strong aura of darkness…” * and it’s not ghost-type darkness either, I would be able to tell if it were. Oh, this will be interesting… pity Clair and Lorelei and Agatha aren’t here to help… *

“You – you mean Mount Battle? I’ve heard of it. You have to defeat ten trainers in a row there!”

            “Simple enough…”

            “But-!”

“Look,” Lance put his hands on his hips. “You can’t be a coward forever. How are you ever going to be able to protect yourself and your pokemon if you cower at every sign of danger? No wonder you lost your Drowzee.”

Ashline reeled back as if she’d been slapped.

Lance didn’t bother to mince words. She needed to get that through her head. He wouldn’t be around to protect her forever, after all!

Besides, she got in his way…

It was better to cut ties as soon as possible…

Ashline colored and tried to restrain her tears. What Lance said was true, but that didn’t make it hurt any less! Why was he so mean?

Oh, all right, she had blown his cover once or twice, but that wasn’t any reason to yell, was it?

She wiped her eyes and glared daggers at him.

The Dragon Master remained passive as he walked towards his hoverbike. “You don’t have to come with me, you know. If you find my company so repugnant, feel free to leave any time.”

            “Fine! Maybe I will!”

“Your funeral.” Lance smirked as he climbed in the driver’s seat, pulling his goggles on over his eyes.

Ashline stomped off back into Pyrite, not watching as he sped off in a cloud of dust…

“Hey girl, you’re a trainer right? Let’s battle! Go, Machop and Sandshrew!”

            “Pidgeotto, Butterfree, go!”

Machop used Karate Chop! Pidgeotto used Wing Attack! Butterfree used Stun Spore! The paralyzed Sandshrew skipped its turn!

            Machop fainted!

Rider Bick sent out Cacnea! Butterfree used Mega Drain on Sandshrew! Pidgeotto used Wing Attack on Cacnea!

Sandshrew used Slash! There went Butterfree’s HP!

Pidgeotto finished off Sandshrew! Ashline won! Ashline gained $255!

She’d train then! She’d train for a few days and then once she was better than Lance, she’d go back and kick his butt and then he’d like her!

Ashline watched as the next challenger came up…

Lance walked into Mt. Battle, watching as the trainers came – mostly ground types, not much of a challenge with his water pokemon .No, he didn’t use the shadow pokemon he’d purified, not much, he was still wary about energy drain…

But by the time eight battles were over, his pokemon had gotten rather battered. Time to switch the three he had been using then. Ah, one of the perks of being an Elite Four member – and perhaps, a guardian as well…

Slowbro and Dugtrio were once again employed…

Yes. Ashline… well, is like Ash, dense and innocent and annoying at times. She’s also crushing on Lance... Possibly not a good combination…

Hehehe, I forgot to mention that I also have a Charmander cell phone thing and a bunch of Hasbro’s pokemon plastic figurines and pokemon handkerchiefs – blue and green striped, with Charmander on them, and a pokemon t-shirt I got in Italy with Charmander and Pikachu in front of the leaning tower of Pisa and another pokemon t-shirt from Taiwan with Japanese pokemon names on it. Phew. Think that’s all…
