I was eating lunch when suddenly a plotbunny attacked me. I’m not complaining.

Disclaimer/Notes: I don’t own pokemon. Nintendo does, I only have this fic as my property and whatever new characters/items I make up.

Warnings: Humorous authoress appearances

In the beginning

Ash, Misty, and Brock were walking around somewhere in Kanto, right after the Indigo League and Ash’s birthday, when they suddenly heard shrieks for help.

‘Oh no! We must go rescue whoever it is!” Ash said, running towards the sound and after a *rare* shiny Flareon that had just appeared out of nowhere. Soon, there was a girl fainted, surrounded by six legendary pokemon.

As Ash appeared, he looked into her beautiful face and was about to fall head over heels in love with her, or passionately declare her his eternal rival before proclaiming his undying love for Misty, when…

            *CRASH*

A black laptop dropped out of midair and landed on his head.

            “Hold it!” A girl yelled.

Brock studied her for two seconds before deciding she wasn’t beautiful enough for him to flirt and fall in love with.

“Who are you?” Misty asked, snapping immediately into ‘Alpha-female’ mode and threatening any female that came near Ash with the exception of Jessie. Or, maybe not… but that wasn’t the point.

“Are you threatening me?” The girl replied, as she yanked a quill pen out of her messy hair and adjusted her thick wire-rimmed glasses to see better. “I’m the author of this piece, ya know, maybe you don’t want to die right off the bat? Or, I can give you a slow, painful death, which will take days to type because both my wrists are in bandages at the moment.”

Ash paled. “The author? Are you going to pair me up with Lance again?”
“It’s not that bad. I’m phantomness.” She introduced herself. “Besides, you usually get a set of insanely powerful cards to boot, or something like that. At the very least you win a championship, right, Destiny?”

“…” Ash sat down on a handy tree stump and pondered the author’s words, running through all the fics she had written about him.

“Why, in all the fics you have written about me, have I never gotten a girl?” Brock queried.

“I don’t’ like you as a character.” Phantomness replied. “You are usually nonexistent in my fic, which is better than being dead, as in ‘The Final Test’.”

“You wrote ‘The End of Misty’!” Misty shrieked in anger.

“So I did? I was in a bad mood. And that was years ago.” Phantomness replied flippantly. “I’ll make it up to you when ‘Sailor Eevee’ comes out.”

            “Really?”

            “Sure,” Phantomness replied. “Author’s honor.”

            Misty scowled, but agreed.

“So…” Phantomness said, as a warp hole formed. “Let’s try this again, now that we have everything sorted out.”

“What about the girl?” Ash asked.

“She’s an extra Mary-Sue. Trash bin is over there.” Phantomness waved, before she vanished.

Ash dragged the girl off into the disposable whirl of vacuum space, and with everything finally resolved, the story began anew.
