Chapter 8: Final Revelation

Timeline: Well, Ash is 19, so it’s a few years later

“Lance-chan…”
Lance smiled, just holding Ash as the memory loop, which had taken two months to complete, ended.

Oh, it had started innocently enough. She had just kissed him while he was asleep. Who knew that would trigger?
Serebii probably thought he was old enough to deal with it now.

She held him, not letting him go. She would not lose him again. never.

And if she had to kill again to keep him, so be it. Against the scales, she knew they would side with her.

Lance’s eyes glittered as Ash rested his head on her shoulder. “Yes?”

“You stayed, didn’t you? Even when I didn’t remember?”
“I promised to protect you.” Lance said, lighting tapping him on the nose. “I try not to break my promises.”

“Oh.” Ash said, a faint rose tinting his cheeks.

Lance smiled, winding her arms around him. “Kirei… pretty little one, I’ll do anything to protect you.”
“I know.”

Ash shook his head, tilting his head up to kiss her.

Their lips met, the first touch they had shared in this new cycle of life.

It didn’t matter about the future now. She would protect him while he did his duty, and then their wings would fly them home.

The stars sparkled up and down as they circled the moon and the earth.
