I should never have waited so long before cleaning my ten-gallon fish tank… I’m surprised the goldfish aren’t dead… well; that took a couple hours of scrubbing… and my hands turned blue, which couldn’t possibly be good… and I replaced the filter… and ugh.

Warning: implications…

This is shonen-ai Championshipping…

Chapter 5

It wasn’t as if Lance was deliberately trying to seduce him or anything, he was just so… Well, elegant was a nice way to put it.

All right. He wasn’t human. He was too pretty and graceful and delicate and…

Ash promptly stopped that train of thought before it could lead anywhere and went back to his weaving.

Luckily, he hadn’t missed any threads.

It would be bad luck for whomever it was if he did.

Lance’s fingers flew deftly through the yarn and silk and a tapestry emerged prettily. But then, he had more experience.

Ash kept his eyes down for the rest of the hour before they left the room. It was a very long hour.

            “That bad?”

Ash jumped. “H-hai.” He said guiltily.

“You can take medicine for that.”

            “Do you?”

“Often, when you’re too young or circumstances prevent it.” Lance tossed Ash a bottle with silver pills inside, and than another one with liquid. “The liquid stuff tastes better than the ice drops.”

            “What is it?”

“More ice.” Lance said. “It works for me, damps emotions and all that… I hope you’ll be as lucky.”

            “Arigatou!”

So Ash took the medicine and sure enough, the fire faded. He was still in love, just not exuberantly so.

More like a calm contemplation of love? Well, that would work…

            He waited.

            It would come in time.

            He would be patient!

            “Latios, Latias, come back.”

Ash stared in awe as the two flying types landed next to Lance. “Sugoi… when did you?”

“Well, Rayquaza-sama let me control the Houen legendaries.”

            “A-ano, what about Johto?”

“Well, they can mostly take care of themselves. Houen still needs work.”

            “Sou ka.”

The two birds were cheerful little pokemon, not yet full grown. They were kind of cute in their own way.

“Of course, more legendaries brings on a new set of problems.”

            “Eusine.” Ash supplied helpfully.

“Well, luckily, he hasn’t been chasing Suicune recently. She thoroughly needs sleep and rest in either case.”

            “So, um… Lawrence III?”

“No, you took care of him, and that’s one person who has no rebirth value.” Lance said with mingled disgust and satisfaction. “So it isn’t him.”

“Someone else wants Latios and Latias, right?”

“Hai… and Team Aqua wants Kyogre and Magma wants Groudon. Personally, if it were up to me, I’d support Team Aqua.”

Ash giggled. “I can see why.”

            “Why?”

“Because, you’re a child of ice, right? And water’s close enough.”

“True, but water conducts electricity, and you love that.”

“Hai.” Ash said, as he snuggled himself under Lance’s cloak. It was awfully cold with the wind blowing off the sea.

            “Ash…” Lance warned.

            < I can’t help being impatient, Lance-chan! >

< Hai, hai. > Lance sounded amused, as he felt a swelling in Ash’s pants. < I see how it is. >

< Why do you have to be so pretty? >

            This earned a chuckle. < Oh? You’d rather I was hideous? >

< NO! Never! > Ash said, blushing. < It’s just that its so much easier not, well, you know. >

< Didn’t I teach you how to do ‘that’? >

Ash’s eyes lit up. < I forgot. Well, it won’t hurt anyone! Arigato Lance-chan! > With that, he beat a quick exit.

He seems perfectly fine to me.

            < Maybe you’re right, Dragonair. >

            Hehehe…

            < Ptera, that’s enough. It’s not that amusing. >

Yes it is! He’s so innocent and not at the same time!
            He’s like a child but well…

Lance tuned his dragons out as they teased him. He liked love and sex and all of that, but he didn’t quite need it, luckily.

Latios and Latias were grooming each other in a kawaii display of affection, so that was all right.

Kyogre and Groudon still slept in their caverns. Rayquaza-sama would call him if anything came up.

The three were currently staying with Honou and Serebii in a safe place.

He went to the library and spent a few hours perusing another magic volume. Ash returned for dinner, looking less peaked.

            “Feel better?” Lance asked kindly.

            “Hai!”

            “That’s good.”

Ash hugged Lance tightly, and then they ate a quick meal together.

            “Lance-chan?”

            “What is it now?”

“You’ll stay with me forever, right?”

“That’s a silly question, but yes.” Lance said, as he smiled.

            “I’m glad…”

And he was, really. He would learn to be patient, and to find his own niche in the world, and then everything would be fine.

And to imagine it all started with Mewtwo…
