Chapter 6

It was a very long month. By the time the month was over, the legendary pokémon had their answer.

It was better to leave this life alone.

Even though there were some prickly conflicts, well, they would leave that for the others to sort out.

Wataru and Red watched in satisfaction as the badges began to glow over Cerise Island. It as so lucky their clones had not discovered this plan. Now, they would be able to start over, and hopefully, no one would make the mistake again.

“I love you.”

“I love you too, precious child.”

“… Was it wrong of us to let them live, Aniki?”

Wataru hesitated. “I do not believe so. They pose no threat, so…”

“I am glad. I did not want to kill them.”

Wataru nodded as Red snuggled into his arms. “Perhaps I did not wish that either.”

“… Aniki…”

“Shh.”

Ash sighed.

“What’s wrong?”

“… Lance, what if you love me because you have to?”

Lance blinked. “Whatever gave you that idea?”

“It’s just that being with you is so weird… but it feels right.” He added hastily, seeing the irritated look beginning to cross his lover’s face.

Lance pulled Ash into a hug. “Does it matter why I love you as long as I do?”

“Well… I guess not…”

“Good.”
