Well, from here it’s my own sailing

Lance: Is that a good thing?
Phantomness: It depends on how my mind works, yes?

Emerald: Well, I don’t sense any darkfic yet.

Shoyko: That’s _my_ job…

Ash: No lemons! Please!

Phantomness: I shall take that into consideration

Chapter 4

            “Chaos Dragon…”

            < Hai. >

< Lugia-san… does this prophecy speak of Rayquaza, the Dragon of the Skies? >

< I am not certain. But it mentions not the Dragon of the Seas. >

Lance frowned, tossing another fake scroll aside. < I am troubled in this instance. Seldom is only one dragon called… >

< I as well, Chosen, you may safely believe that. But do not waste any more time. They are all false. >

< The ones Team Rocket stole? >

< And the remainder that live in this room. The only true – and there are four – are prophecies already fulfilled. >

            < Acknowledged. >

< Keep an eye out for the Chaos Dragon then, my Chosen. And keep an eye on him as well… >

Lance nodded silently before Lugia’s presence faded from his mind.

            “Nani?”

“We’re leaving, just the two of us.” Lance said.

“But I can’t just stop in the middle of my pokemon journey!” Ash protested.

“If the fate of the world depends on you again, of course you can.” Lance replied. “Are your bags packed?”

            “Yes, I didn’t really unpack, but…”

“Now hold on a second.” Brock said. “Why only the two of you? Is that safe?”

“Because, we’re the ones called in the prophecy.” Lance said a bit arrogantly. “And he’ll be perfectly safe with me.”

Something in his tone made Brock pause.

            What… wrongness?

            “Come on.” Lance said.

Ash meekly followed, Pikachu on his shoulder.

“Now wait just one moment!” Misty yelled. “Brock and I are his friends, you know! We should go too!”

“You’ll only be a hindrance.” Lance snapped back.

Ash winced as Misty pulled out her mallet. This was not going to be pretty…

There was a tinkling sound and a laugh.

Lance crossed his arms, as Misty’s mallet shattered into a million tiny glass shards.

            “What did you do?!”

            “Nothing of interest to you.”

            Ash looked at Lance wide-eyed.

“Besides, if you can’t even defeat _me_, exactly how are you going to protect him?”

“That’s not fair, though.” Brock said.

“If you really feel _that_ strongly about it, rock trainer, then you can come along.” It would make no difference.

But Misty could make any quest fail.

            After all…

She was a darkness pawn. She could be possessed by any force that put his mind to it. She had already been Missingno’s host more than once.

            So, it was too dangerous.

Besides, she was an annoying little scab.

Oh no, Lance did not like her at all…

            “Come on, we’re wasting time.”

“H-hai.” Ash said, as he climbed onto Dragonair’s back after Lance had gotten on, wrapping his arms around said trainer’s waist.

            They flew off.

            “Demo, wasn’t that mean?”

“Ash, don’t tell you that you like Misty.”

“N-no! I hate her, but still, I’d never say it to her face.”

“I didn’t say it to her face either, I just implied it.”

            “I know, but still.”

Lance shook his head. “Someday you will learn that wounding feelings may be kinder than letting actions determine the future.”

            “Huh?”

            “When you’re older you’ll understand.”

Ash pouted a little, but he enjoyed the flight. The sky shone blue and clear, and pidgey chirruped from the trees in sonnet.

            Yes, it was very nice…

Almost as nice as being kissed, he decided, while tracing a faint line along his lips.

He didn’t mind Lance kissing him. After all, it didn’t hurt.

            Hmm…

Lance looked surprised as Ash’s hands slid lower. “Ash; now is not that time for that, as much as you might like it.”

            Ash blinked. “What?”

“… You don’t know what I’m talking about?”

“I just wanted to kiss you.”

Lance sweatdropped inwardly. * This is not happening… *

On the other hand, considering it was Misty he had been traveling with, perhaps the revelation wasn’t so surprising.

“Just don’t move, okay? I’m trying to give Dragonite flying directions.”

            “Okay.” Ash promised.

After they landed, Ash fulfilled his earlier words and kissed Lance. It did feel awfully nice and warm.

So this was what kissing was like!

Lance just sighed inside his head and made a mental note to tell his mom that Ash’s education in certain areas was, lacking.

I’m giving Ash the naïve deal again… *snickers*

Ash: So I’m clueless about the whole love deal?

Kairo: I assume from the authoress’s comment that you’ve never taken basic sex education, but that might be a good thing…
