Lance = Catelyn, but Lance is referred to as male and Catelyn as female, and yes, she is a girl.

Now, just as a warning, I’ve seen a grand total of 6 episodes of the Johto league, thus I know almost nothing about it… so I’ll make up things, change pokemon and events, things like that…

Chapter 5

“So, what now? Are we just going to explore?”

            “No.”

            “No?”

“There are only a few places the Chaos Dragon could be.” Lance said. “This is one of them.”

            “Mount Moon? Why?”

“Because, dragons like caves… I know it’s not in Whirl Islands because Lugia-san would have told me, and its not in Sky Pillar because Rayquaza-sama would have said something, so that leaves Mount Moon, Mt. Silver, Mt. Pyre, and two or three others.”

            “I see.”

“So first… well, if the Chaos Dragon is here he should appear soon.”

Ash looked worried. “Aren’t they really powerful?”

            “Supposedly, yes.”

“But Lance, I don’t have any special powers yet!”

“Of course you have power, it’s just locked right now.” Lance said practically. “But don’t worry.”

            “Why?”

“I’ll fight for both of us. A chaos dragon now would still be weak, they need to draw darkness from the world, and I can feel that.”

            “Oh!”

They set up camp, grilled hot dogs over a campfire, and drank milk-laden hot chocolate, but no dragon appeared.

“Um… how long does it take?”

“Three days at the most.” Lance said, as he stirred his hot chocolate meditatively. * Still, there is no certainty. *

It was better than nothing though.

            Besides, Lugia-san would help them.

The next morning, Ash trained Pikachu and Cyndaquil and Totodile against the wild zubats.

They attacked in swarms and gave quite high amounts of EXP.

The day after that, the chaos dragon appeared.

It was not what Ash expected.

Huge pale green eyes were set in a face of red scales, framed with emerald green bristles.

            “This is a chaos dragon?”

            “Hai.”

            “But it’s so cute!”

“They are born innocent enough, it is lucky she has not started to call darkness yet.” Lance said.

He picked up the little dragon, which sneezed.

            “Kawaii…”

“So do we have to kill it?”

            “No, we don’t.”

Ash looked relieved. He wasn’t sure if he would be able to attack a defenseless creature, even if it was to save the world.

He was no Machiavellian with the end to justify the means. Lucky.

“Now, we should head back to Professor Quince’s lab.”

            “Do we have to?”

            “Why not?”

“I-I…” Ash blushed. “I’d like to spend a few more days with you. Catch up on things, you know.”

            “Point taken,” Lance said.

            “Hmm?”

            “But I’m sure you’d prefer Catelyn’s company.”

“But you _are_ Catelyn.” Ash said confused.

“No, not quite. It’s like split personality. I think of myself as two people, really, but both of them love you and are worried about you.”

            “Honto Ni?”

            “Hai, of course.”

            “O-okay then…”

“Besides, I’m twenty-four, and that’s too old for you.” Lance said cryptically.

            Don’t watch!

Ash blinked as Dragonite erected a changing room out of nowhere, shoved Lance inside, and stood guard in front.

            “I’m confused.”

A few minutes later, Catelyn walked out dressed in a light blue shirt and white pleated skirt, with her hair held back with a white ribbon.

            Ash blushed.

It wasn’t – well, Catelyn was really cute, and he could see her curves as a girl – ah! Bad thoughts! Don’t think like Brock!

Brock could not possibly be a good influence on a child’s mind!

Ash kicked those bad thoughts away and smiled.

“So, what did you want to talk about?” Catelyn asked as she smoothed down her skirt nonchalantly.

“What did you do on your journey?”

            “Well…”

********************Flashback Mode**************************************

Today was just not one of her days, she decided.

Dratini was wrapped around her neck, acting as a necklace, but still, it was so annoying! How dare that Brian try to kiss her!

What did he think she was?

Oh, he would be paying for it for a long time…

At least Aerodactyl had taught him an excellent lesson… Catelyn’s lips curved up in a wicked smirk.

He was probably only genetically male now.

Well, it was his fault. Reap the whirlwind from the bad seeds sown, right?

            So it was justifiable.

Ash looked quite pale as Lance finished.

“He deserved it though…”

“Yes, besides, that was right before my engagement to you, but still…”

Ash blushed. “We’re not old enough to get married yet.”

“Legally we are, but I think we should wait until you grow up.”

Ash blinked.
