I have a bunch of fic fragments and badly written fics on my computer, so when I really can’t catch any plotbunnies, or I feel like it, I work on revising.

Disclaimer: Phantomness does not own pokemon. Pokemon belongs to Nintendo and Shogakukan Comics. Do not take my non-profit, non-copyright infringing fanwork…

Another Pokemon Special/Adventures-verse fic, I like it better than the anime by a far cry.

Summary: Red did go off to find Pika, right? So what if he actually found Lance and Yellow while they were battling? What would he do?

Chapter 1

“Aerodactyl, I choose you!” Red put his bike in his pocket (they’re subspace pockets) and hopped onto his dragon pokemon. “Catch you later, Bill! I’m going off to find Pika!”

“Okay.” Bill said. He sat down to wait.

Red had Aerodactyl use Hyper Beam to go through the ceiling. There, they found Lance, Blaine, and Yellow battling.

“Mewtwo! Now!” Blaine shouted. Mewtwo nodded and its Spoon-o-Kinesis extended into a fork and stabbed Lance’s poke balls.

            Lance crashed into the ground.

“We did it, Pika!” Yellow cheered.

Just then, Red landed. Blaine tensed, thinking it was Lance, but breathed a sigh of relief when he saw it was Red. “Red, you’re okay!”

“Yep!” Red said. “Pikachu!” Pika dashed over to him, chirping happily.

Red hugged Pika tightly. “Pika! I’m so glad to see you again!”

Pikachu was so happy that she shocked him.

Red giggled. “I’ve missed you so much, Pika!”
Yellow sighed. * I forgot that Pika was Red’s pokemon… but why can’t she be mine? I’ve been with her for three months! Oh well, at least I found him, right? That’s good… *

There was a strain of maniacal laughter… or at least that was what it seemed like.

Yellow stared as Lance got up. “That Mewtwo has some tremendous power. To damage an Ultra Ball this badly… but it still won’t be enough to beat me!”

            Yellow gasped.

“This is seriously not good.” Blaine stated in an undertone. It was a vast understatement.

“Wait, I’ll help.” Red said. “He is the enemy, right?”

            “Hai.”

            “Aeroy, Hyper Beam!”

Lance did not move, as the energy blast hit him squarely in the chest and sent him flying.

            “?”

“He didn’t dodge?” Blaine asked in confusion.

“Maybe he was just bluffing earlier.” Red told them. “He looked tired.”

“Oh! Right!” Yellow smiled. “I’m glad you’re all right, Red onii-san.”

“Hello, Yellow. Have we met before?”

“H-hai… in Viridian Forest.” Yellow said shyly as she took her hat off.

“Oh! You’re the girl I rescued two years ago. I’m glad to see you again.”

Blaine cleared his throat. “Maybe we should get off this island before we reminisce.”

            “Yes, let’s.”

            “Not so fast…”

“You still want to fight?” Red asked, staring at Lance. He wasn’t just bleeding, it looked like that attack had been more damaging than he calculated. He looked like he could barely stand…

            Lance smiled. “No.”

            “Then you’re going to surrender?”

“I should thank you, you know.” Lance said, as he dipped his fingers in blood and drew a circle on the dusty ground.

Blaine blinked. * He’s not sending out any more pokemon? *

What’s going on? Pika asked. All he got were shrugs.

“I activate the curse of the Dragon’s Blood unwillingly shed… I will not even need Lugia now… Chain Destruction!”

All the three could do was watch in horror as the land literally imploded around them in a flurry of dust and smoke.

< You did well, Chosen. >

            < Hai. >

They were gone, all of them who had tried to destroy his plan…except for the unconscious boy he held in his arms, even now faintly glowing with sparkles. Protected from his attack? How interesting…

            Red eyes were closed.

            Why not?

Still so innocent though, ah, it was a pity Agatha and Lorelei used force when guile would have served much better.

            But it was no matter.

He would recreate everything, the old world was gone and the new would stabilize.

< Are you happy now? >

< I will be. > Lance smiled mirthlessly. < After all, the world is as good as mine now. >

< But you don’t want the power. >

< No, Father… you know me too well. I simply want them to die… so the pokemon can reclaim what is rightfully theirs. >

< Good child. > Lugia said. < But you must rest. That Hyper Beam was especially damaging. >

< I know, dragons aren’t supposed to attack the Dragon Master. I was caught off guard, I suppose.>

< Sleep now. Both of you need rest. >

< Will he remember this? >

            < Yes. >

Lance looked at Lugia questioningly. <Why him? >

< If he survived, there must be a reason, yes? Once you wanted him on your side… >

            < Yes, I admire his power. >

< Then you must win him. >

Lance was silent for a moment.

< It is equivalent trade, is it not? >

            < I suppose… >

< Trust me. You will not lose much. There are far too many for me to take completely. I will simply blank this one… sleep well, child, and heal. >

< Very well, that is good enough then. >

Lugia smiled, as pods of white light surrounded both of them and they fell into slumber.

            < Sleep well… >

He would take good care of his children. He always did.

They needed… five years or so should be enough to stabilize. He froze time for them, with Serebii’s help… they would stay their respective ages and not age… they needed to recover either way.

While the rest of the world restarted.
