The end of misty part 5

Notes: Misty joins Team Rocket, some more Ash and pokémon stuff. I write dark stuff! If you don't like dark fanfics than don't read this. Also, its not meant to be an AAMRN! Pokémon translations will be in (), thoughts in **, and speech in "".

It was the day after Misty found out that Brock was part of Team Rocket. Part of her screamed in fury, but another part told her that she should have known. Brock almost never attacked Jessie and James, considering the fact that they were his "team mates". Misty wondered how much being a Rocket paid you. It seemed like dangerous work and she was starting to regret the fact that she had agreed to continue their relationship.
An image of Brock kissing Christy flashed into her mind, and misty felt her face flush with anger. That little minx! Trying to steal Brock away from her! A very small part of her cried "what about Ash?" but she ignored it. Her heart belonged solely to the future pokémon breeder, and a whiney trainer who wanted to become pokémon master was of no importance.
Brock sighed as he paced in the room of their hotel. Maybe he shouldn't have kissed Christy, but they were celebrating a successful mission, having stolen the Silph Scope from Celadon with no problem at all. He rarely got assignments, being *busy* because he spied on Ash and pikachu, but small victories were always a boost to his self-confidence. So what if he and Christy had made out a couple of times? It was no big deal, just celebrating a successful mission.
Misty groaned at the sound of Brock's footsteps over her head. It was giving her a severe headache. She closed her eyes and saw a vision of herself looking rich and powerful with Brock by her side and Christy locked in a cage. She realized this might never happen, Christy would always have a hold on her beloved, unless she joined Team Rocket herself! The sudden flash of insight gave her the courage she needed to face Brock.
Brock looked up startled as an ecstatic redhead bounded into his room. "Misty?" he asked, as he wondered why she was so hyper all of a sudden. "Brock, if I join Team Rocket, would I be your partner?" Misty cried. "What!?" asked Brock, looking stunned. "Uh, Misty, why are you thinking about that? Listen, if it'll make you happy, I'll quit Team Rocket." "But Brock, you'll still be going out with Christy!" Misty shrieked. "Unless I become your partner myself, she'll always have a hold on you! I'm not letting that happen!"
Brock looked stunned. So that was why Misty wanted to join Team Rocket. Just to get rid of Christy. Brock admired Misty's stubbornness and decided it would be good for the Team of Misty joined. She was a decent water pokémon trainer and rather cute too. This near-perfect combination would enable her to get away with nearly anything. It was too good to be true. "Sure misty, if you want to join that much, I'll take you to the headquarters right away!" said Brock as he led her towards his cerulean blue car.

On Ice Island, Ash and his pokémon are having a slight problem…

Ash angrily threw his silver mirror at the wall of the cave. *How dare she do this. Join the very organization that's trying to capture or kill me. She's doing this purely to spite me, I swear. I'll make her pay for this! * Ash's pokémon all looked at their master anxiously with worried eyes. Ash sighed and petted Pikachu on the head. Pikachu narrowed her eyes and mimicked her master's actions; angrily pika-piing about how untrustworthy and sly humans were, to hurt her master so. Ash's other pokémon were all experiencing the same feelings of anger and betrayal that Ash was feeling, since they were linked, so they all looked extremely unhappy.
"Oh well. I'll pay Brock and Misty back for this, make no doubt about it!" Ash cried. "At least I've gotten rid of Jessie and James, the people sent out to get rid of me in the first place. That should reduce the number of people breathing on my neck all the time." Ash's pokémon nodded enthusiastically and settled down once more.

Gary's point of view…

Gary had heard rumors of a group of invincible pokémon that lived on Ice Island. Being determined to become the future pokémon master, he got on his Gyrados and headed for Ice Island. After 6 hours of surfing he finally arrived. He scanned the barren surface and saw nothing but a Kingler and a Poliwrath. He sighed and reached for the poké ball containing an Electabuzz.
Slash! A flash of gold electricity slashed across the hand holding the poké ball, causing him to drop it. Gary looked up in anger and saw a person dressed all in black with a gold vest and cape, staring at him with blazing golden eyes. Somehow, he looked slightly familiar. Realization hit Gary like a shock wave. It was Ash! Somehow, the loser had managed to survive jumping off a cliff and none too badly either. He didn't seem to be injured at all. The pikachu sitting on Ash's head glared at Gary as its cheeks sparked.
Gary snarled in anger. "Listen, I saw that poliwrath first, so I'm gonna capture it!" Ash narrowed his eyes as the poliwrath walked towards him. "It's mine." He said grimly. "No stealing pokémon." "Oh yeah?" asked Gary with a smirk, "I saw it first."
Ash reached for what looked like a poké ball and laughed coldly. "Then I'll battle you for it. Bulbasaur, go!" *This is going to be easy* Gary thought. "All right, it's a deal. Arcanine, go!" "Arcanine, arcanine, arcanine! (Grass is weak against fire!)" "Bulba, bulba, bulbasaur! (Ha! Give it your best shot.)"
"Arcanine, Flamethrower!" Gary cried. Arcanine complied by shooting flames at bulbasaur. Bulbasaur replied by staring at the Arcanine with glowing red eyes as it extended its vine whips and threw out a volley of razor leafs. "Razor Leaf?" asked Gary. "Has Ash gone nuts? Oh well. Arcanine, Fire Blast!" Arcanine spat out even more fire at Bulbasaur, but none of it seemed to touch bulbasaur. Gary stared in puzzlement at bulbasaur, who was rising on his hind legs and sending out spores. *Stun spore? Poison powder? Sleep powder? *
What looked like snowflakes started falling from the sky, freezing the Arcanine into a solid block of ice. "Arcanine is unable to battle. This battle is now over." Ash announced as he spun on his heel and vanished into a cave halfway up the mountain. Gary stared in shock. How could anyone move that fast? And why hadn't he given bulbasaur any orders during the battle? Gary wasn't going to go anywhere until he got the answers to his questions. He turned and ran after Ash's retreating figure.

Ash sighed as he heard Gary's footsteps behind him. What did that annoying guy want now? He spun around and glared at Gary. "What do you want now?" Gary stared defiantly into his eyes and announced "I'm not going anywhere until you answer my questions. Why did you pretend you were dead? Why are you on this island? Are you trying to capture that legendary pokémon also? And why is your bulbasaur so strong?"
"Why do you care?" Ash asked. "It's none of your concern. Now get off this island before I make you pay." He instinctively reached for his amulet as his eyes flashed. Sensing danger, Gary stiffened and threw out all six of his poké balls. "Arcanine, Pidgeot, Gyrados, Rhydon, Exeggutor, Alakazam, go! Attack him now!" Streaks of multicolored energy flew at Ash, surrounding him in an instant. Ash calmly held up a shield that glinted with gold and black light, sending all of the energy back towards its respective owner, stunning all of Gary's pokémon.
Gary stared at Ash in shock as Ash reached for his amulet. In an instant, Ash was transformed and standing over him. "Night Shade." Said Ash as Gary was hit by waves of darkness and fainted. Ash put his fingers on Gary's forehead and murmured "Amnesia," wiping away all of Gary's memories that he had found Ash alive. Then he put Gary's pokémon back into their respective poké balls, healed them, and teleported Gary back to Pallet Town.

Info! I like this part. J
Ice Spore: This attack is ice/grass. It sends what looks like miniature snowflakes at the opponent, freezing them instantly. It's very accurate. Only extremely high-level grass pokémon bonded with their master can learn it, and only if they don't evolve.

Poliwrath: Ash's first pokémon in a different version. This comes from a manga comic book that I get in Chinese. In English, Ash is called Red in this version.
