Chapter 2

< Where to now? > Ash asked, still slightly shaken.

< Shh… > Lance whispered softly, they were in Whirl Islands.

He kissed Ash gently this time, feeling the other’s mind open up to him and embrace him, like a flower petal…

            Perfect…

Two against two, water and wind versus fire and earth, but water beat fire and wind beat earth, so…

He let the other one melt into his arms as their minds linked, along with their souls. It had been happening already.

Physical contact was the last step.

Of course Ash loved him. Had loved him since he had found him, six years ago, with the power of water shining in his heart, taken him to the sacred realm to train him.

He loved his little one also, such a pretty little angel.

            This was only the finalization.

They came back to earth with sparkles of darkness glittering inside each other, so closely…

< Now I’m a part of you and you are a part of me. > Lance whispered.

            < Hai, Aishiteru. >

They broke their embrace only when Lugia coughed politely. He looked pleased.

< This is well. Together you two are stronger than the two others, who fight, each on his or her ability. One against two does not prevail. >

            < Ah. >

But it felt nice, very nice, and very warmly pleasant… Ash decided.

< Also, this will buy you three month’s time… your auras have combined and it will take them that long to split again, so until then, they cannot find you. >

Ash smiled at Lance confidently, timidity temporarily erased. The Wind Guardian smiled and took his hands.

< We will not let them win. >

            < We _will_ win. >

It didn’t matter even if they didn’t.

That night, he let Lance smooth away his worries and fears. The next morning, they went hunting.

Had to find the Black Orb before Misty and Zachary did…

            Where to, though?

“We can’t enter the Shadow Realm, since we’re realm guardians…” Ash said in worry.

“If that is the case, than neither can the others.”

Ash frowned. * Hmm… what to do? * His fingers itched as he summoned forwards his staff.

A blue orb glittered on top of a white staff.

Then, Lance’s own staff was dark blue with a white orb.

They were complements, then, in every sense of the word.

            Why not?

We’re two of a kind, you and I… we are children of the moon, both of us. We may wax and wane in power, but…

            We’ll never fall.

“However, they might find us in the sacred realm…”

Ash frowned. * There seems to be no way out… *

            “What to do?”

“There is another way to find the Black Orb…” Lance said quietly.

            “Honto Ni?”

Lance nodded, but his eyes were downcast, the gold dulled. “Do you want to try that instead?”

            “Hai.”

            “Very well…”

Ash gasped as Lance kissed him again, hard. His eyes glittered hard, like chips of solid gold.

            < L-lance? >

< I’m sorry. > The trainer whispered, and continued kissing him, disrobing them both as he went.

Ash’s breath caught tightly, as Lance proceeded to ravish him thoroughly.

It didn’t quite hurt. No, it didn’t hurt…

But… he was surprised, certainly, afterwards, and sore. But Lance petted him and kissed him, and he really wondered what it was all about.

            < Lance… why? >

            < It was necessary. >

Ash blinked. His voice seemed… colder?

Lance opened his eyes and Ash gasped. Red? They were… red? But he wasn’t bleeding…

            What the…

            < I’m sorry, I really am, but it was necessary… >

That was when he noticed the black strands of magic woven around Lance’s wrists.

            < It came? >

            < Hai. >

            < But why… Oh! >

Lance nodded grimly. < Did I hurt you? >

            < Not really… >

< That’s good. > Lance said, kissing him again.

            Ash blushed.

            It was all so sudden…

At least he knew Lance really loved him…

< So what do we do now that we have the Orb? >

< Train, so when Misty and Zachary come, they can’t take it. >

            Ash nodded.

And the lessons began anew that day.
