Ash sighed as he rubbed his aching head. Stupid Misty! After all that fuss she had made over girl's day, now that it was boy's day she wasn't letting them have any fun? What a sexist bitch!

He was so tired of traveling with her sometimes! If only Pikachu hadn’t fried her bike, then he would not be in this mess.

She kept using her mallet to solve problems too.

It was wrong.

“Hey, are you ok?” asked a voice in front of him.

Ash looked up. It was his idol, Lance Dragyn...

"U-Um... yes!" He squeaked, as Lance helped him stand up, wondering why he was lying in the middle of the road.

“You seem down, is something the matter?” He asked, pulling Ash over to a bench and sitting down.

He sighed. “It’s Children’s Day and I wanted to celebrate, but stupid Misty took Pikachu with her and dragged Brock off to go shopping.”

“Did something like this happen before?” The Dragon Master said.

“Well,” Ash swallowed. “On Princess Day she made me lend her my pokemon... I mean Girl's Day, er…”

“And does she hit you a lot?” He prodded.

He nodded glumly. "Yeah... She does. But I thought that since I had been nice enough to loan her my pokemon on Girl's Day that she might do the same for me..." Ash didn't dare look up.

Lance mentally checked Misty Waterflower off a list of acceptable gym leaders and pulled Ash into a hug. The boy looked like he needed the affection.

Ash didn't even know he had started crying. Later, he would attribute it to stress and nothing else, but for now…

“S-she took Pikachu and Brock and went shopping and left me here!”

Quietly, he patted him on the shoulder. The boy didn't seem like he'd calm down anytime soon. Well, even cheerful Pallet trainers had ups and downs, and there seemed to have been a succession of unfortunate events lately.

He could cry once in a while too. It wasn’t wrong.

The dragon trainer stroked his hair a bit awkwardly. * Poor little one... *

Lance didn't like it when this happened. Ash deserved much better than that bitchy girl!

After about half an hour, Ash realized what he was doing and whom he was with although it was not as dirty as it sounded. He tried to move away, but Lance was very warm. He hadn't gotten affection like this in months.

The boy sighed in defeat. He really didn't want to move now. He really had wanted to celebrate Children’s Day.

Now, he was all cried out.

“Is there a tournament?” Lance's voice was gentle.

Ash nodded. “If you win, you get a set of pokemon kites. But it's a swimming contest with pokemon and I only have Squirtle.” He hesitated. “And I don't know if Squirtle is strong enough…” He sniffed.

Lance checked the angle of the sun. “You still have half an hour if you want to go. As for the rest, I'll loan you my pokemon.”

Ash was shocked. He looked up at Lance, his eyes wide. Were his ears deceiving him? The undefeatable Champion was going to actually lend him a pokemon? No way!

Lance smiled. "You should go have fun."

"Thanks..." Ash said quietly.

He handed him the Ultra Ball with Kingdra inside.

Still stunned, Ash thanked him again and went off to have fun. He could not believe it!

In the end, he didn't win the swimming contest, but he did get second place, which earned him a nice kimono in dark green. Afterwards, he strolled around the festival area. There were lanterns out and delicious smells filled the air.

He'd never seen a Kingdra before, but she was so pretty! He knew he should go find Lance to give the pokemon back soon. Still, part of him wanted to savor the moment for as long as he could.

He ate some takoyaki for a snack, and began walking down the street, keeping an eye out. Soon, he spotted Lance at a booth, buying a stick of cotton candy. Ash quickly walked over.

“Hi, Ash,” Lance said, looking up. The black-haired trainer looked a lot more cheerful. The relaxation had done him a world of good.

"Hi..." Ash held out the ball containing Kingdra. “Thanks for letting me borrow her, Lance. She's a really cool pokemon.”

“Maybe you should keep her for a while, then.” He stated.

"W-why?" The Pallet trainer gaped up at him.

“She's quite a lot weaker than my other pokemon, and I can't battle with her much. She'd probably be happier with you.”

He was still unsure as though if this situation were real or not. Dumbfounded, Ash stared first at Lance and then down at the poke ball. Lance was letting him keep his Kingdra? Why?

“A-are you sure?” * Oh Mew, is this really happening? *

He was almost hyperventilating. It had to be a dream! There was no way his hero would care about him. Sure, he was nice but lending one’s pokemon out was different! It was personal.

Lance nodded. “Yes. I'm always using Dragonair, Dragonite, and the other two. I don't let her out often. She’s probably pretty lonely. Go ahead, Ash. I know you'll take good care of her.”

Ash blushed. "Thanks!"

“See you around,” He turned to walk away, before pausing. “I'll stop in to check on her every once in a while.”

The boy flushed, unable to articulate the rest of his words. “D-don't go…”

Lance grinned. "Don't worry... I'll visit soon." He released his Dragonite.

Ash watched sadly as he flew away.

Who knew the Elite trainer was so nice? It was like a dream come true!

He clutched Kingdra’s poke ball tightly.

That night, he found Misty and Brock sleeping together at the Pokemon Center. That was the last straw! They obviously loved each other and didn’t care about him at all. Even Pikachu had betrayed him! Maybe he should just leave!

Ash frowned as he went downstairs to collect his pokemon from Nurse Joy. He couldn't take this anymore.

He ran out into the forest.

These so-called friends weren’t worth having at all!

Brock was nice when Misty didn’t have this influence over him, but for a skirt-chaser, having free sex probably outweighed any moral objections.

Stupid slut!

Misty was angry when she found Ash wasn't in the third bed in the room she and Brock had slept in. Pikachu was also surprised.

Had something happened to the trainer?

“We are going to find Ash after breakfast.” Misty told them.

Brock yawned and made no protest. Abstinence was not something he looked forward to, so he just followed Misty’s lead. Half an hour later, they were entering the forest.

Ash had hidden in a bush. He didn't want to face them. Sadly, Lady Luck was not with the trainer. Misty found his camp and Pikachu found him with her nose.

Ash glared at Pikachu when he saw her. "Stay away!"

Master... She whispered. Why are you hiding?

“You've chosen Misty over me since we met, and every time you take her side!"” Ash snapped. “You should just stay with her!”

That wasn't what she was trying to do! She thought Misty and her Master would be a good match, so she had been trying to set them up.

“I don't need Misty traveling with me anymore.” Ash said. “I wish that incident with her bike had never happened! Besides, that was your fault too!”

Pikachu blinked. But Master…

This was unlike him! Why was he acting so cold?

“I'm not going back!” Ash put his hands on his hips.

But what about your debt?

“I'll pay it off later. I just don't want to travel with her.”

They didn't notice Misty and her mallet.

Ash yelped, as his face got smashed into the ground. He whimpered as he held his head, looking up.

"You idiot!" Misty raged. "How dare you try to run away?"

Fear shone Ash's eyes.

"And where were you yesterday?" Misty demanded.

“I don't see why you care! You got to shop with Brock!”

There was fire in Misty's eyes now. "Where. Were. You?" There was very tangible fury in her words.

Ash gulped, but he didn't want to tell her! The Ultra Ball containing Kingdra opened. The dragon pokemon hissed and moved in front of him.

Misty got angrier. “You did run off to the festival by yourself!”

“You had your fun on Princess Day!” Ash pointed out.

How dare she try to guilt him into bending to her whims? Disgusting bitch!

With enough repeated abuse, his eyes had finally opened. It was late, but not too late for him to get away.

Kingdra glared at Misty and used Ice Beam, freezing her legs to the ground.

“What kind of pokemon is that?” Misty asked him.

"None of your business," He stated.

The Cerulean girl struggled to get free, but couldn't. There was a cracking sound as one of her legs broke.

Ash hugged his new Kingdra. “You're a good pokemon, Kingdra.”

Misty tried to hit Ash again. Kingdra froze her arm with another Ice Beam. He smiled in relief.

Misty thought it was a new water pokemon. Then it should be hers! "Pikachu, do a Thunder attack!"

Kingdra barely took any damage as Pikachu used Thunder. She slammed the mouse into unconsciousness with Hyper Beam.

Ash nodded. Pikachu definitely didn't belong with him! He did like Misty better! Traitorous pokemon! He was so lucky he ran into Lance!

“I'm so lucky I ran into Lance.” Ash said quietly. * Thank you, Lance… *

Kingdra smiled knowingly as her new Master hugged her. After a few minutes, they walked away. He was already missing the Dragon Master...

Ash hoped that the other would check on Kingdra soon. He began heading towards the next town as quickly as possible. He didn't care if one of his pokemon were unknown. At least Kingdra was nice. And coming from Lance, she had to be a dragon-type pokemon.

He was happy.

Brock watched Ash go, utterly dumbfounded. Sure, the two kids fought all the time, but this seemed serious.

Maybe it had been the last straw?

His passive neglect had hurt as much as Misty’s active abuse, if not more so. It was a pity he had followed his dick instead of his conscience.

Pikachu weakly struggled to get up. This was going all wrong! Why weren’t Ash and Misty falling in love like they were supposed to?

End Chapter

No lemon in this chapter yet…

Ash: *Hugs Lance*

Lance: *Grins*

Phantomness: Misty must die. *Nods* I hate Pikachu too! Although, I hope Brock at least wasn’t too OOC. He’s a man, and I can see this happening. Pikachu seems like it would be very naïve regarding love. Have I mentioned that I think Pokeshipping would be an abusive relationship, especially after Togepi?
