Chapter 1

            Red was late.

Lance frowned as he scanned the sky for a glimpse of the teen and his Aerodactyl. There was nothing. With a scowl, the Dragon Master turned his attention back to his worried-looking Dragonite.

He has never been late before, Master…

“I know, Kairyuu. That’s why I am concerned.”

These meetings once a month were dangerous, but it was a calculated risk both were willing to take. However, Red had always been prompt before and even if some twist had challenged him to a pokemon battle while he was leaving, it should not take more than a few minutes to dispose of it.

So either Red was in danger, or he had forgotten. Lance highly doubted the latter. The former was much more troubling, and much more realistic.

A few more moments passed in silence, before he heard the sound of wing beats. The visitor was not the one he expected.

His lips curled into a disgusted scowl and Kairyuu prepared a Hyper Beam. Surely one good hit would send the Butterfree flying…

Yellow jumped off her pokemon, putting hands on her hips. Minus the hat, she looked quite feminine. “What have you done to Red?”

Lance’s eyebrows rose. “Nothing. I’ve been standing here for an hour waiting for him to show up.”

“Liar! He left home four nights ago and he still isn’t back!”

“You know his schedule so well? Been spying on us, have you?”

Yellow colored, and Lance heard Dragonite growl in warning. He did hope she hadn’t seen too much, though if she had… it was quite clear whom Red was sleeping with, and who had gotten shafted.

Yellow sighed. “Look, I’m worried about him, all right?”

“You are not the only one.”

            “Help me look for him.”

“He could just be late for an appointment.”

            “That’s the problem!”

            “What is?”

“I knew that he was heading out with Gold and he said he’d be home but he’s been gone for three days!”

That caught Lance’s attention. “Three days?”

            “Yes! I mean… well… you didn’t know?”

“I cannot believe I am having this conversation with hou.” Lance shook his head. “No, I only meet Red once a month. And if you tell anyone of our meetings, I will personally disembowel you.”

Yellow eyed the sai that had mysteriously appeared in Lance’s hands and decided quickly that she would take his word for it.

            “But you said he’s missing?”

            “Yes!”

            “Then let’s go.”

It took Yellow a few minutes to process the statement “You’re coming with me?”

“Why certainly – no, wait a moment.” Lance ducked behind his Dragonite, and when he emerged again, Yellow stared.

            “W-Why are you wearing-…”

Lance smoothed down his skirts and smirked. “I think it’s cute.”

“C-cute?!” Yellow screeched. “You look like a girl!”

“The point is that if I’m to be wandering around the continent, I would rather not look like a wanted poster.” He slid the sunglasses over his eyes, and watched as the highlights in his hair glinted. “Hmm… bit too much silver this time…”

“You’re running around in drag? Do you do this all the time?”

Lance gave her a fanged smile. “I may have been seen out in public with our esteemed Champion, yes.” His voice sent shivers down Yellow’s spine, but not the good kind. She rubbed her arms, feeling gooseflesh rising and glared.

            “Let’s just go.”

“As you wish.” Lance said. She hesitated, recalled her – no, he, he damn it, even if he looked like a pretty girl now – Yellow wanted to beat her brain a few times for this rude awakening – and released something else.

            Yellow blinked.

Somehow, she would have not expected Lance to have any pokémon besides dragons... the Fearow cawed loudly, as Lance laughed.

“Come on, love, we’d best be off.”

Yellow snarled, and they flew up into the air. “Where are we heading?”

            “Where have you already checked?”

            “All of Kanto…”

            “Then we’re off to Johto.”

They flew over the cities, scanning, though Yellow wondered how they were supposed to find one person from the air. Again, there was nothing, though they did drop by Blackthorn a bit to check up with Clair on any new news.

Clair looked at Yellow suspiciously, but said nothing. She and Lance spoke in a different language, and Yellow tapped her foot impatiently.

They flew off again, Lance frowning.

            “What is it?”

“I’m wondering… might he be in Mount Silver?”

That was… “But why would he go there with Gold?”

            “I do not know.”

Gold studied his captive with a fond smile. “You really are perfect, Red. I’m just surprised you didn’t figure it out sooner. After all, I’ve always been following you. You’re my hero, you know, and now, I’ll keep you here with me where no one else will find you.”

Glassy red eyes stared blankly in his general direction.

“Now then, what would you like for breakfast?”

I hate Gold. Maybe not as much as I hate Yellow, but still a lot! Hehehe, and Lance and Yellow will never get along. Lance is too good at ruffling her feathers and Yellow is too easily ruffled. And if you think they’re flirting, this is CHAMPIONSHIPPING, not GRANTEDSHIPPING, Lugia curse whoever invented that disgusting pairing!

Gold is an evil little bastard. I’ve hated him since I first saw him in book 8 of the manga. That is all there is to it.
