Lance: WHAT?!
Phantomness: *giggles* Well, I had fun writing it.

Lance: I will kill you…

Chapter 4: Blizzard Symphony

“You are wasting our time.” Lorelei said primly, adjusting her glasses on the bridge of her nose.

Lance smirked. “Well? Do tell… what were you trying to accomplish?”

“I’ll never speak!” The rocket yelled.

“Well then…” Lance got up. “I’ll just do it the easier way. Of course, it’ll turn you into a sobbing wreck, but as long as we get the information…”

Will and Karen now entered, both looking irritated.

“Which one of us has to do it this time?”

“You both can, if you want.” Lance said quite calmly. “So… Dream Eater sequence?”

The psychic and dark master both nodded, each sitting down next to the rocket on one side.

The next thing Jason knew, his mind felt like it was being pulled out through his nose with red-hot pincers. He passed out. Thus, he was mercifully unaware of what was happening to him.

Twenty minutes later, the deed was done.

Lance casually flicked his fingers, before the body burst into flames and vanished. “Let’s go.”

The four vanished back to the Plateau without more words.

            Elsewhere…

            < Sou ka… >

< Yes, that is what happened. >

The unown circled around him in pretty patterns of dark and light.

Of course, as the writer, he had to know everything. And since this was important to the story of the present…

Ash closed his eyes. < Was that cruel? >

< It is not our place to judge, we are merely the watchers and the recorders. >

            < Hai… >

            Still….

For some reason, Ash found himself… blushing? Why?

The next day, he hit Whitney’s gym for the Plainbadge. It was remarkably simple, her most powerful pokemon, Milktank was quickly dispatched by Phanpy’s moves. Clefairy and Sentret had been no challenge at all.

            Earthquake…

Of course, being gifted Fissure helped too.

The unown giggled, if that was possible, at his surprise.

< We always help our Chosen. >

< That is why we are partners. >

            < Haven’t you learned that yet? >

Ash beamed. < Now I know even better. >

The yellow in his eyes was bright as the sun.

            Lance groomed his purring dragons.

You are so powerful, elegant, graceful, all my dragon pokemon. But I am no ordinary trainer. I am the Dragon Master.

I will fight for your sakes, you know.

I feel every death, every life, every pain, ever happiness…

            For they live for me.

            A twinge of wrongness sounded.

            Lance smiled.

            He shifted.

The gleaming white scales spread over his body, and in a second, a dragon stood there in his place. Sharp wings swept backwards, claws outstretched for the kill.

Lance took to the air and flew outside.

There was danger, again… at Lake of Rage?

Do not worry, Gyarados, I shall be right there.

The rest of the pokemon followed.

You think you’ll win? Don’t be so confident, dear. Team rocket? I just dealt with you. What a pain…

Still, Dragon Master is a lifetime task.

I’ll play with you again then.

Tyson was just about to ride back to HQ when a dragon landed in front of him.

“Woah! Never seen that pokemon before!”

It hissed, before it leaped at him, claws outstretched. Tyson panicked and threw out his Fearows, but a quick Thunderbolt knocked them both out.

The last thing he saw was blood.

No peaceful death for this one.

Lance shifted back, as his dragon pokemon landed around him.

            < Let’s go. >

Dragonite nodded, taking to the skies. < Direct attack? >

            < On my signal. >

            < Understood. >

Aerodactyl landed on Lance’s shoulders invisibly, before his clothes shifted into a passable Team Rocket garb and he walked calmly into the base.

It only took a few minutes to locate the machine.

After that… it was quite simple.

As Lance and Aerodactyl used Hyper Beam from the inside, outside, the rest of his dragon force demolished the building.

            Almost no survivors’… pity…

            Was it?

The police arrived to clean up and captured four or five rockets alive, but the rest lay crushed under pieces of fallen masonry, building chunks.

            How?

Back at Indigo Plateau, Lance shifted back with a smirk. < Stupid police… >

< You did well, Chosen. >

< I wish I could have figured this out before they force-evolved those Magikarp, but… they should be all right. >

            < Indeed. >

Lance had no nightmares, but the same couldn’t be said for the rockets. After all, he had Lugia’s will and they didn’t.
