Bunny fic! Another post-Lake-of-Rage deal…

Disclaimer: If I owned pokemon, I would eliminate Misty, or at least give her a makeover and a decent personality… but since Pokemon belongs to Nintendo and Shogakukan Comics and 4Kids and Lugia knows whom else, I’m stuck with this fanfic. Ah well. Don’t steal my writing!

Notes: <> for telepathy, ** for thoughts, italics if a pokemon talks!

Title: It’s all in the genes

Summary: The radio wave at Lake of Rage had some rather… interesting side effects…

Chapter 1

“… Well.” Ash said, looking at himself as he woke up, not quite sure if it was a dream or not, but not feeling too happy about it in any case, “This does not seem like a good thing.”

Misty tried to mallet him – everything odd that ever happened was somehow Ash’s fault, after all – and found that she couldn’t, not exactly having… hands.

Brock woke up and found that – well, what happened when you combined pokemon was not always a good thing.

Jessie and James woke up and looked at each other, than looked for Meowth – and found he was missing.

            There was a long scream.

            Wake up, Master…

Lance’s eyes slowly opened. What’s wrong, Hakuryuu? You look worried.

I think there was an accident when you took Kairyuu out yesterday…

Lance froze as he caught sight of his reflection in the polished ceiling of his room. “Father is not going to be happy with this new development…”

            No, I daresay not…

            We’ll tell him for you.

Thank you, that would be helpful…

The Champion-turned-shiny-Noctowl spread his wings and flew out the window. He knew who was behind this.

Meanwhile, back in Mahogany, the three trainers examined themselves with growing looks of horror.

Misty had become a psyduck – only with a shiny glowing red jewel in the middle of her stomach, and instead of psyduck wings, she had four dark purple arms sticking out of each of her sides. Starmie arms.

Brock had become combined with his Geodude and Zubat, somewhat… He looked like a Geodude with Zubat Wings.

Ash… well, was some strange mixture of Cyndaquil and Totodile that looked vaguely human – or it would have, if he weren’t a foot tall. He had blue skin, a row of red spikes going down his back, and his back was also covered with flames…

This was not a good thing.

As for Team Rocket – Jessie and James, they were now about two feet tall, with Meowth ears and tails. Perhaps they could pass as dwarfs… and as for the Team Rocket agents who had been at lake of Rage, unfortunately for them, they were all now… Magikarps. Pity.

They were still frozen in shock when a Noctowl swooped in. That ticked off something being different. Noctowls normally weren’t… that particular, familiar, shade of pink.

It took Ash a few seconds to figure it out, which was faster than normal comprehension. “Oh no…”

Lance clicked his beak and looked at Ash sideways.

            Ash gulped. “I’m sorry?”

Well, at least you kept human speech. Waste of it if you ask me. Lance said in a series of hoots, although all three human-turned-pokemon could understand it. Do you have any idea how to fix this?

“We could ask Professor Oak?” Brock suggested.

Perhaps. Lance said, but didn’t sound convinced. * As if I want that old fool to know about this… *

A soft roar sounded behind them.

Lance turned, seeing a distinctly unhappy-looking Aerodactyl. His Aerodactyl. What did father say?

He’s not happy about it, obviously… wonders why you didn’t change into something more suitable, but he wants to see you… and the others.

Lance nodded. Well…. can you carry them?

            Easily…

Before they knew what was happening, the three trainers had been scooped up into an Aerodactyl’s claws and flown into the air…

Misty screamed. Ash was in too much panic to respond. Brock passed out – he wasn’t fond of heights…

Lance sighed inwardly as he flew after Aerodactyl. No, he suspected that Father would not be happy at all…

A handsome man with long white hair and dark blue eyes, clad in a expensive-looking white tuxedo was waiting when they swooped down to land in front of a mansion – yes, a genuine mansion – in Blackthorn City.

            Misty stared.

Ash wondered how many pokemon were around.

Brock had to remind himself that the man was a man – or so he thought. Might be a handsome type of woman, and then, well!

Father… Lance whispered, as he drifted out of the air and landed in the man’s arms. Lugia caught him, stroked his head briefly, and then cast a poisonous glare at the three still in Aerodactyl’s talons.

            They gulped.

Aerodactyl dropped them unceremoniously on the ground, bared his teeth, and waited for hell to descend. It was not long in coming.

“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY CHILD?!”

Ash squeaked nervously. Misty fainted dead away. Brock looked at Lugia and decided that even if it was a woman, she was psycho and not someone he wanted to be with for the rest of his life.

            Lance sighed.
