Okay. This is a very disturbing fanfic. The subject is on why a threesome with Gary and Lance will never work. ^^ I hate the idea, so my biases are definitely in this fic…

“Six months, Ash.” Lance’s voice was harsh. “You’ve been sleeping with Gary behind my back for six months and you still claim you love me?”

“I do!” Ash protested. “I love you and Gary both!”

He had no idea why the Pallet Trainer was bothering him. His luggage was packed, his accounts finished, his resignation letter neatly written in copperplate script on his desk. He had left the Plateau, but Ash had chased him back to Viridian City.

            “You lie.”

“No!” Ash shook his head. “Why can’t I love two people, Lance? Why can’t I have both of you?”

“Because I no longer want you!” Lance snapped. “Gary can have all your love! I don’t need it any more.”

That part was true, but Ash didn’t want to believe it.

“Look, you’re cold and hard and he was soft and gentle and I wanted you both!”

“And I agree that I wasn’t good enough for you, so go back to your boyfriend and leave me alone!”

“But that’s not it! I like you the way you are!”

“You liar!” Lance stood up. “If you were content you would have had no reason to cheat on me! Just leave me in peace! I’m sick of this conversation!”

“We can make it work, Lance! I know we can!” Ash moved towards him.

“No we can’t!” The Dragon Master roared.

Ash grabbed his arm and kissed him. At that moment, Lance felt something dark and deadly clamp down on his magic. He stared in horror at the solid black cuff now adorning his arm.

            A control bracelet…

            How had Ash gotten this?

            “Take. It. Off.” He hissed.

“No.” Ash shook his head. “I tried to be reasonable, but you’re not allowing me to. Sorry, Lance. This is the only way.”

“What the hell do you mean?”

That was when Gary entered. He smirked and walked up to the stunned trainer, before kissing him hard.

Lance growled and tried to push him away, but couldn’t.

Gary grinned. “He’s not a bad kisser, Ash.”

“I know. See? Gary agrees with me. We can make this relationship work.”

Lance narrowed his eyes, waiting. Gary’s actions were tantamount to abuse. At least he wouldn’t have to deal with it for much longer…

But when minutes ticked by and nothing happened, fear began to well up inside him.

It’s okay, Lance.” Ash reassured him. “I’ve disabled Serebii’s guardian protection. We wouldn’t want you hurting Gary on accident, would we?”

He damn well did want to hurt the bastard, and it would certainly be no accident. Gary even had the gall to lick his lips and wink at him!

Ash petted his hair. “That wasn’t so bad, was it?”

They pushed him down and tore his clothing off, and he could do nothing to stop them, and Ash smiled.

“I’ll let you take me, Lance. It won’t change anything.”

The boy hugged him and coaxed him to hardness, but he couldn’t take it, not when Gary pounded into him like he was some sort of a whore. Even though Ash kept reassuring him, he just couldn’t.

Physical sensation was one thing, but there was no emotional connection any more. They were just using his body like a toy.

Ash cheered when he finally came, though it meant nothing.

            The boy was an idiot.

Did he really think one could stop bodily functions indefinitely?

They left him alone after that, went to shower, and Lance tried frantically to get the bracelet off. It wouldn’t budge.

            Why?

He tugged at it, trying to find a lock to unfasten, but there was none, and panic mounted, when his magic didn’t come at his call, until rational thought fled his mind and he had torn skin and flesh off, and he was bleeding sluggishly, but the black metal just kept digging deeper into his arm, until it was welded to the bone itself.

When Ash came out and saw what had happened, he shook his head.

“Lance, why are you being so difficult? You wouldn’t get hurt if you didn’t try to take the bracelet off.”

            Lance glared at Ash.

Gary backhanded him across the face. “That’s no way to treat him. You love Ash, don’t you?”

“N-.” Lance tried to say, before pain screamed through every nerve of his body.

Ash smiled sunnily. “I know you love me, Lance. So I love you too, and I want to keep you here. Don’t bother trying to call the Sacred Sword, love. It won’t work.”

Lance stared at Ash in disbelief.

“I don’t want you to hurt yourself any more. We’ll both take care of you. Everything will be all right, now.”

How could things be all right if he was a fucking slave in his own body?

“You don’t need your magic now. Charlotte can take care of the Realm.” Ash kissed his cheek. “I love you, Lance. Gary’s nice. We’re going to get along wonderfully.”

No, Lance vowed. They never would.

Several weeks passed. They were civil enough, he supposed, when not pounding him into the mattress in an effort to prove that this threesome was a good idea. He just quit caring about it.

            Even that wasn’t an escape.

Gary’s trying so hard to make our relationship work!” Ash snapped at him one day. “Why aren’t you?”

Lance bit back a harsh retort. As if Gary raping his ass every night was their definition of ‘making the relationship work’. The brown-haired boy took a perverse pleasure out of dominating him; that was for sure.

            “Ash…”

“Lance, we wouldn’t have to hurt you if you’d accept us.” Ash told him.

Lance wondered if whipping and paddling him was their idea of endearing him.

“I don’t like to hurt you, Lance.” Ash said. “But you’re being so bad. I have no choice.”

It looked like he was in for another sleepless night. Maybe if it kept on a little longer, he could die that way.

What else could he do? Ash, the little fucker, had locked all of his magic with some sort of twisted logic. Shadow was the strongest, and he though he had tried to fight it off, he just couldn’t!

He doubted he loved Ash any more. He couldn’t, not with Ash being so tainted and disgusting!

            “I’m not!” Ash wailed.

He didn’t even have the privacy of his own mind any more.

“What’s wrong with loving two people, Lance?”

“Did you make him sad?” Gary came out. He slapped Lance hard across the face. “Don’t you realize what a horrid boyfriend you are?”

            Lance gritted his teeth.

If he tried to yell or curse at Gary, he’d just get shocked again.

Gary grabbed his jaw, pried his mouth open, and shoved his length inside. Lance let himself fall limp.

            What was the point?

He hated this twisted parody of a life… and the sooner it ended, the better. If only Ash hadn’t taken away his escape!

They flaunted themselves, screwing each other silly day and night and raping him whenever they felt like it, Ash claiming that he loved him and Gary just wanting to screw him. There was no future.

Ash wanted to break him. He doubted Ash loved him – this wasn’t love, it was just sex, sex, and more sex. All Ash wanted was sex.

Ash wasn’t gentle, because he always said that he wouldn’t be until Lance accepted Gary.

As if he would ever do that.

So there was nothing left to do, really, except endure.

Then one day, he spotted something that might help him out…

He could take it no longer. Slowly, they had worn down his spirit, or so they thought, and now, they let him have free rein, certain that he would not cause any trouble. How could he – the damned control bracelet on his right arm prevented him from harming himself, and he couldn’t hurt Gary because of the kiss. Ash had certainly thought everything through well, the little slut.

Lance knew what he had to do though. It had taken time, but as he walked towards the shed, he knew they were too busy fucking each other to care about him right now. He might not get another chance for months.

Training up the necessary strength had been hard work, and he wasn’t ambidextrous by any stretch of the imagination, but now…

The axe glittered as he carefully held it in his left hand, before he brought it down hard on his right arm. There was excruciating pain as bone splintered, but it was not done, not yet, for it was welded to silversteel, and that would take time to break.

He continued to hack for several moments until the last fragment of bone was broken. The part with the control bracelet still firmly attached lay on the ground like some distended worm, hand twitching slightly. Smiling grimly, Lance teleported.

Charlotte was horrified when he appeared on her doorstep, still clutching the bleeding stump of his shoulder. She hastily cauterized the wounds with fire, not daring to heal, for directly using magic on Lance might attract Ash’s attention and render the whole escape moot.

“What happened to you? Ash said you didn’t want to talk to me, and that you were having relationship issues, so I left you two alone…”

“He lied.” Lance gritted his teeth.

Slowly, the whole story tumbled out, and Charlotte was livid by the time it had ended. How dare Ash take advantage of Lance’s love and affection to do something like this! It was inhumane!

            Charlotte…”

“I know.” She said, and kissed him.

It wasn’t a romantic kiss by any means, and they both knew what steps had to be taken. Charlotte’s mouth glittered wetly as she pulled away, watching the light in Lance’s eyes dull, but not completely.

After all, she hadn’t killed him.

She had simply taken his soul.

Ghost was one of the elements Ash did not control. Ghost was under their control, so a ghost-type attack was all right…

They chopped his body into tiny pieces, and scattered the bits over the entire world, working quickly, for in a few hours, Ash would no doubt discover what had transpired. Still, it was too late now.

Without a body to go to, there was no way to capture Lance’s soul.

Ash could build himself another fuck-doll if he wanted.

< Thank you. > Lance breathed.

< I ought to murder him for what he did! >

< He’s probably got more of those Control bracelets. I wouldn’t risk a direct confrontation. >

< He can explain his reasoning to the Legendary Council then! > Charlotte fumed.

            Lance nodded.

By the time Ash went to check up on Lance, it was too late.

Lance was so much trouble, Ash thought as he walked to the shed. He wouldn’t eat and sleep unless told to, so Ash had to keep an eye on him.

And he still didn’t want to be with Gary.

Ash couldn’t understand why. Gary gave Lance orgasms, didn’t he? So why didn’t he just accept that Ash loved them both? Then they could live happily ever after.

But Lance was so stubborn and mean!

He froze when he saw the disembodied arm lying there. “L-Lance?” He stammered.

There was no response of course. Ash screamed.

            Gary did not come running.

When he went looking, he found Gary and Bruno screwing each other like rabbits. The relationship had obviously been going on for a while behind his back.

Not that it was any more than he deserved…

Ash shuddered. Gary had suggested that he control Lance, and he had taken the advice, because he wanted Lance to stop running away from him, but it hadn’t worked at all! Lance was still gone… and now, he was probably gone for good.

The Bracelets had been easy to make – he was Thunder’s Guardian after all, and good with mechanics.

            But… why did Lance leave?

He didn’t want Lance to go! He hated being alone! He wanted Lance to be with him, all the time, but Lance had to go on trips a lot. Ash knew Lance had duties to do as a G-man, maybe secret missions, but that didn’t mean he had liked it!

To stop from being lonely, Ash had taken to getting drunk and sleeping with Gary as much as possible while Lance was gone. Maybe that hadn’t been the best idea.

But Lance just wasn’t perfect! And Ash wanted affection, even if it was bought and paid for…or fake…

Lance didn’t love him enough to bring him?

No. Lance hadn’t wanted Ash to get hurt. But! That didn’t mean he liked getting left behind!

He wanted Lance all the time!

            Wasn’t that love?

Wasn’t the person who loved you supposed to do everything for you to make you happy?

Did that mean Lance hadn’t loved him?

No… he was pretty sure Lance had.

Ash felt hot tears in his eyes. What was he supposed to do now?

There was a shimmer in the air, and Ash stepped back, seeing Charlotte manifest.

< The Council wishes a word with you. > She said coldly.

            Ash swallowed and nodded.

Moments later, he was in the middle of a large amphitheater. All the legendary pokemon were assembled there.

Lugia was giving him a particularly poisonous glare. If looks could kill, Ash would have been six feet under already.

< Ash. > Serebii said. < Do you know what you have done? >

Ash sniffled. “I just w-wanted L-Lance to be with me…”

“And you thought putting a control bracelet on him and letting Gary rape him nightly for months was a good idea?” Charlotte asked coldly.

Ash looked as though he had been slapped.

Lance narrowed his eyes, before images began to dance across the walls. All the pokemon watched in silence.

Ash wanted to throw up. He and Gary had only done the threesome thing two or three times, but Gary had been raping Lance every chance he got while Ash was busy! And Lance couldn’t exactly fight him off, because of the binding…

Not to mention that Lance couldn’t have told Ash because Ash’s spell wouldn’t let him say anything bad about Gary! And Gary was rotten to the core, nothing but a cheap lay…

            Gods, he felt low.

“I’m sorry!” Ash wailed. “I just thought Lance wasn’t being caring and affectionate enough! That’s why I started sleeping with Gary! He’d take off for weeks at a time, and I just couldn’t take it! I was miserable without him!”

They listened, but did not forgive.

Yes, perhaps Lance should have been more considerate, but he did have work to do. Ash should have accepted the fact and not tried to change it.

Love was being accepting of your partner and your differences, after all. Trust did not arise overnight. These things took time…

Ash was still childish and not patient enough to understand these things.

There was no point in letting him keep his power, not when he used it for these callous displays.

< Ash Ketchum. > The Council rumbled. < You are hereby stripped of your Guardianship for your next three lifetimes. Should you prove adequate within that time, we may return it to you. >

< However, it would be wise for you not to forget your sins. > Lugia sneered.

Ash shuddered; not meeting the legendary’s eyes. Lugia was Lance’s father…

He had a right to be angry over his son’s treatment.

Ash hadn’t meant any harm, but he was careless and never thought of the consequences. It was a sad truth, but a truth nonetheless.

He… wanted to apologize, but it was too late to do that!

            What could he do?

Trust took time to build. Love was a long road and there was no guarantee that it would be easy. He had tried to shortcut his way in, but that proved futile and disastrous.

The other two guardians did not even glance his way as he fled, tears streaming down his cheeks. He could run, but the pieces were set and their fate was spun.

< I cannot forgive him. > Lance’s eyes were cold pinpricks. < Not for this. Not when he allowed this to happen. >

            < No. > Charlotte nodded. < I know. >

Gary’s screams were quite loud, and all the patrons in the bar, as well as his current flame backed away.

He would feel the same pain he had inflicted, three times over, until he died, and his death would be long in coming.

There was a reason why mortals were not supposed to mess with Guardians  especially not in matters of the heart.

Pity Ash had forgotten this most important rule and caused the mess, though Gary had certainly exacerbated the problem immensely.

Gary fell to the ground, choking, and no one helped.

Ash groaned. He shouldn’t have listened to Gary, but he had wanted Lance close to him. He had wanted to prove that he had enough love for two people – more love than Lance had, for the Dragon Master had seemed unable to even love him wholeheartedly. Now, he knew better, but it was too late.

            It was always too late.

He tried to die, he really did, but it didn’t work.

“You don’t really think we’d let you escape so easily.” Charlotte sneered. “No. You’ll live on, and you’ll remember, and perhaps the regret will fix you.”

There was a long, lonely road ahead of him, and this time, he had no help.

Ash fell to his knees and sobbed.

End Fic

Completed 10/11/07

Macabre, ne? And this is why I’m never going to write a threesome with Gary! Lance deserves better than Ash in this fic, that’s for sure! And as for Gary, my psychologist friend mentioned that Indigo League Gary, at least, is an utter psychopath. He gets what he wants and doesn’t care who he uses or abuses on the way! Ash shouldn’t pity him at all!

Stress from college midterm failures = creep, angsty fanfic. I wish I weren’t at UC Berkeley sometimes…

Lance: You still took his idea, and you didn’t keep an eye on him! You didn’t protect me when I couldn’t protect myself!

Ash: *Cries*

Lance: You don’t deserve me! I should just throw you in the gutter and let your entire gang of prostitute friends sleep with you! You’re tainted!

Charlotte: *Nods*

Phantomness: Yes, Lance is a drama queen. I am a drama queen. I write Lance based on what I would do. No, I’m not sure I would chop off my own arm but hey, if I were desperate enough, I would…

Shoyko: Desensitization much?

Phantomness: Yes, hopefully I won’t write many more stories this graphic. *Shudder*
