I’d hazard a guess this is a short series
Disclaimer: If I owned pokemon, I’d be rich, right? All I own right now is a laptop… and some merchandise and nope, don’t own pokemon!
Chapter 4
They couldn’t get past it.
That was Lorelei’s first reaction when they returned to check on their prisoners a few hours later.
Bruno had banged on the dome with his fists, had sent out his two Onix and his Machamp to break it, to no avail.
What was going on?
Brock had sent his Onix, Golem, and Kabutops to help. Still nothing.
Ash was sleeping, although whether it was natural or forced was up for grabs.
Sabrina was withering under Agatha’s glare. She had messed up this time, and that was not allowed.
Gengar and Gastly had been unable to phase through the barrier.
“I never knew Lance had psychic powers…” Bruno muttered.
“They might not be psychic. It could be of another variant.”
“He kept muttering about dragons…” Kurt offered. “Maybe it has something to do with that.”
Lorelei nodded. “Yes… that would make sense… all our elements… if he is invoking the elemental privilege… Dragon beats Ice, Ghost, Fighting, Water, Rock, and Psychic….”
“But he couldn’t possibly know how!”
“I don’t think he’s doing it consciously.” Lorelei interjected. “Think about it. What has he said since he woke up?”
“A bunch of stuff about pokemon, and light, and protecting them.”
“Yes. Even with his mind… not exactly intact, he’s still going to protect the pokemon. He doesn’t want to use the Ultimate.”
“Then what now?”
“We hypnotize him.” Agatha said grimly. “Arbok, I choose you!” The snake materialized, hissing madly.
Lance immediately glared at it.
“Arbok, start…”
Lance closed his eyes. “Can’t look at eyes, can’t… must destroy it… no, it’s a pokemon, can’t hurt them… then… I will…”
An ice beam shot from the side, freezing Arbok solid.
“Lorelei! What did you do that for?”
Lorelei blinked. “It wasn’t me!”
Misty gaped. Her Starmie had popped out of the poke ball by itself and fired an ice beam at Arbok.
“Starmie! What was that for?”
Starmie did not reply verbally. However, Misty went down from a near-distance rapid spin attack. Her head hit the floor and she was out for now.
Pandemonium broke out as Misty’s Seaking and Seadra also began attacking the other trainers. Brock hid, his rock pokemon were no good, wincing as Machamp pummeled Seaking into submission, and Sabrina’s Mr. Mime fried Seadra.
What was going on?
“He’s influencing the pokemon somehow.” Agatha said shakily, as they all recalled their pokemon. Kurt suddenly screamed, his loyal Scyther had turned on him, and now he was bleeding from the chest – a rather gaping wound.
“Can’t let them hurt the pokemon…” Lance nodded. Scyther went for Sabrina next, but she teleported out of the way safely.
Lorelei hurriedly released her Cloyster, but surprisingly, Scyther defeated Cloyster and she was forced to use Jynx to subdue the bug.
This was not good…
“Stop it, Lance!” Agatha commanded.
Lance shot her a sideways look. “Dragon defeats ghost. Won’t let you control me. Can’t hurt them, can’t hurt father…” He shot Ash a fond look. “Shadows help. Now… die…” Ash’s poke balls burst open, his Charizard and Blastoise taking down Bruno together, before he could release anything. Sabrina cringed as Sableye was released. Whatever it was, it didn’t’ look good…
“Kill them…” Lance hissed happily, as he gathered Ash in his arms and closed his eyes.
Lorelei ducked an Ice Beam from the black cat pokemon. Ice type? Oh great, and ice VS ice was no good.
“Jynx, Psychic!”
Surprisingly, the attack did nothing…
Sneasal downed Jynx with Faint Attack, then turned to Lorelei with a Slash… her Slowbro protected her though…
Down to one pokemon, plus her Dewgong in reserve, Lorelei began to sweat… what was Lance doing?
Sneasal protected herself from the Blizzard attack Dewgong shot her way, and retaliated with Slash…
“Onix, rock Throw!”
Blastoise groaned, but then Charizard’s claws glinted oddly in the light and slashed into onix’s sides.
Brock gaped as chunks of rock fell off. “What the-?”
Charizard slashed again, except it wasn’t a normal slash move. Blastoise used Dig to escape the trap of rocks, and then aimed Hydro Pump at Brock himself.
Brock barely dodged, but slipped, and banged his head. Two poke balls rolled out of his hands, releasing his Golem and Kabutops.
Golem didn’t last a second, Blastoise shot a second Hydro Pump and did one-hit KO. Charizard flew towards Kabutops, breathing out Dragon Rage.
Things were not looking good…
“Sing!”
Agatha cursed as her ghosts fell asleep to the odd blue bird’s song. Altaria flew high above the battlefield, singing.
Sabrina’s Alakazam aimed a Thunderbolt, but before it could hit, Sableye’s Shadow Ball had taken it down from behind.
Altaria quickly began using Aerial Ace on the Mr. Mime Sabrina now released. Sabrina considered, but shook her head. Venomoth was a bug, no good against flying…
Lance smiled sweetly. “See? It hurts, doesn’t it?” He flicked his fingers as another poke ball opened, revealing Ash’s last pokemon…
Venusaur.
A ready-prepared Solarbeam smashed into the Dewgong, embedding it in the wall. Lorelei decided that she’d had enough and fled.
Agatha collapsed to the ground, as Altaria’s Hyper Beam smashed into her…
Sabrina managed to defeat Venusaur with Venomoth’s Psychic, but before she could celebrate, Charizard flamed the moth to death. She hastily teleported away…
And Lance smiled.
This was what met Ash’s eyes when he awoke. Utter destruction… well, almost…
