Hi! I decided to start a new fan fiction series since I don't write long pokémon fics at all. I do not own pokémon; it belongs to Nintendo, Game Freak, 4Kids, etc. All new pokémon and attacks belong to me and you better e-mail me before you use them or else! Offenders will be prosecuted. Also, this is another Ash as Destiny fic. What did you expect; it's my trademark! This is based on the Gold/Silver version of the game boy game. Okay, enough said, on to the fan fic! Ages: Ash is 15, Misty is 16, and Brock is 18. Ash and Misty were in a huge argument. Brock and pikachu were trying to break it up, but it was no use. Pikachu finally got ticked off and zapped them both. Misty fell over but Ash seemed relatively normal. (He's been shocked by pikachu so many times he has a resistance to electricity now.) Brock sighed and walked between them. It was not a smart idea. Ash immediately punched him as Misty whacked him with her mallet. Finally, Ash got up and walked away. Misty looked surprised. What had gotten into him? A minute earlier he had been calling her a stupid scrawny redhead, and now he was just walking away? How strange. Ash walked down the path; unshed tears glittering in his eyes. True, he loved Misty, but she was seriously grinding his nerves. Last night he had told her, but she had laughed it off, thinking he was joking. His feelings were hurt more than he would admit, but nobody knew, except for pikachu. When they had woken up in the morning, finished breakfast, etc., Misty had gotten them lost. When he asked her where they were, she had whacked him with a huge paper fan and let out a barrage of stinging insults. Misty was too stubborn for her own good, he thought. And she would never admit that she was wrong. It always had to be him. No matter, he was leaving the little troop and there was nothing anybody could do about it. Misty looked at Ash's retreating figure along the path. He looked different somehow. Maybe it was because he wasn't screaming and fussing or boasting, but there was definitely a change. She shrugged it off and decided that Ash would probably come back soon and apologize. The thought warmed her and she cheerfully went back towards the camp. Brock sighed as they continued walking, trying to follow the map. Ash pulled a handkerchief out of his pocket and wiped his tears. *Crying is no good. * He told himself sternly. He reached into his backpack and removed all his pictures of Misty, followed by a watch that she had given him last year. Satisfied, he picked his knapsack back up and headed for Violet City. So what if he couldn't win the Indigo Championships? He would give it another shot. With that in mind, Ash summoned Pidgeot and told it to fly him to Violet. It readily complied and soon Ash was in Violet City. Ash recalled Pidgeot after it had landed and headed off to the Pokémon Center. He booked a room in the small hotel and headed off to the gym. He walked in and found Faulkner sitting on a raised dais in the center. Ash walked up to him. "I wish to challenge you for a Wind (Wing) Badge." Said Ash. Faulkner agreed, so they headed for the battle arena. "This battle will be two on two, no switching until you pokémon has fainted." Said Faulkner. Ash nodded in agreement as Faulkner threw out his first pokémon, a level 7 pidgey. Ash complied by sending out bulbasaur. Faulkner laughed and told Pidgey to use mud slap. (Razor Leaf) said Ash. Bulbasaur complied by shooting a wave of razor sharp leaves at the offending Pidgey. The Pidgey slapped mud in Bulbasaur's eyes, but Ash told bulbasaur to use cut, which finished off pidgey. (Come on, pidgey is level 7, bulbasaur in this story is already over level 100.) Pidgeotto, Faulkner's next choice, was also defeated easily. Ash was rewarded with the Wind (Wing in English) badge and HM31 Mud Slap. Ash spent the next few hours in the hotel sleeping, because he wanted to be awake at night so he could catch some nocturnal pokémon. His alarm rang at 9:00 P.M. Ash woke up, put a dozen or so poke balls in his backpack, and headed for the tall grass. Soon discovering a tree full of Hoot Hoots and Noctowls rewarded his efforts. Ash pulled out a poke ball revealing his pal, Alakazam. "Psychic." Said Ash softly. The Alakazam fired off a Psychic attack knocking out a lot of the nocturnal pokémon. Ash immediately pulled out a couple of poke balls and caught 2 Hoot Hoots and a 2 Noctowls, a male and a female of each species. Satisfied, he returned to the hotel and slept. Misty was a bit worried. The sun had set and Ash had still not returned. However, she did not regret all the mean things she had said to him. "It's all his fault." She whispered softly to Togepi, who nodded in acknowledgement and resumed his nap. Brock had already gone to sleep. She decided to wait five minutes longer and see if Ash would return. He did not. Annoyed, Misty went to sleep. Ash decided not to hurry to the next city, instead, he worked his way through the tall grass, beating several trainers, earning money, and capturing several new pokémon, including Mereep, Otachi (Sentret), Ootachi (Furret), and rediba (lady-ba). His pokédex had been upgraded up several levels at a convenient store, and he was feeling rather pleased with himself. Four days later, he arrived in the next city, Azalea. Or at least, he came close to the city, but was pushed down a well by a Rocket. "Hey!" shouted Ash angrily. "Great. It's pitch-dark down here. Pikachu, flash please. Pikachu complied by letting out a flash of light so Ash could see the silhouettes of several Rockets. He nervously tried to get out of the cave but was blocked by a rocket. "What's the matter, punk?" asked the Rocket. "Scared to battle?" Now Ash never ever turned down a challenge, so he threw out pikachu, who zapped the rocket's pokémon. The next few rockets were also easily beaten by pikachu. Finally, Ash found a high-level rocket executive guarding an old man. "Pikachu, go! Thundershock!" yelled Ash. Pikachu complied by shooting sparks out of its cheeks and zapping the executive. She quickly vanished in a puff of smoke along with the rest of the Rockets. The old man introduced himself and Kurt, a person who made special poke balls for a living. Since Ash had saved him, he would make him a ball every day from Apricorns. Ash was really happy since this meant he would not have to pay to get more poke balls. Ash spent the night at Kurt's house. He had rescued to forest guardians, slowpokes, from team rocket selling slowpoke tails illegally on the black market. He decided not to venture into Ilex forest yet. First, he was going to challenge Buggy (Azalea gym leader) to a battle for the Insect (Hive) badge as soon as the sun rose. Then, he was going to try and capture some more pokémon. The first pokémon he fought the next morning was a Caterpie, followed by several other bug pokémon. Finally, Ash found Buggy in the middle of the gym underneath a tree. He walked up to her and challenged her to a match. Buggy agreed, and the two contestants walked to opposite sides of the arena. "Metapod, go!" shouted Buggy. "Pidgeot, go!" shouted Ash. "Wing Attack!" the attack fainted the Metapod and also the Kakuna that followed it. Finally, Buggy was down to her last pokémon. "Scyther, go!" shouted Buggy. "Fury Cutter!" "Pidgeot, Quick Attack!" yelped Ash. Due to the nature of quick attack, Pidgeot attacked first, successfully knocking out Scyther. So Ash got the Hive Badge and HM49 Fury Cutter. He felt happier than when he had been with Misty and Brock, although he did not know why. Perhaps it was because he did not get lost once, or maybe because them tagging along with him had somehow become boring. But he did not mourn the loss of his companions. Misty and Brock, on the other hand, were actually missing Ash's presence. They were still lost in the forest and were now low on food. Brock had suggested that they eat Togepi, but Misty put her foot down on that idea. There was no way she would resort to eating her pokémon. Ash had actually found the road a couple of times and carried around emergency rations in his backpack. Now that he was gone, she realized that she had taken these things for granted and hadn't appreciated Ash at all. Perhaps that was the problem… Ash stayed in Azalea for three weeks and ended up with 21 fast balls. (Kurt makes a ball every day.) He had also caught a Slowpoke and an Oddish, which he had trained up so Oddish evolved into Gloom and Slowpoke evolved into Slowbro. Mereep evolved into Flaafy and Lady-ba evolved into Redian (English?) But to make Gloom evolve, he would need a grass stone or a solar stone. Ash put this thought out of his mind as he headed through the Ilex Forest. Soon, Ash spotted a boy who was crying. "What's the matter?' he asked. The boy confessed that he had lost the Farfetched that belonged to his master, the Charcoal maker. Ash volunteered to find the Farfetched for the boy, who brightened up. Ash hadn't gone much farther when he saw the pokémon hiding behind a clump of trees. He chased it for about ˝ an hour before it finally flew to where the boy was. The boy thanked Ash and led him to the Charcoal Maker's house. Ash was rewarded with Charcoal, which would boost the fire attacks of a fire pokémon. Ash resumed his trek through Ilex forest and was nearly swarmed over by bug pokémon. Caterpie, Kakuna, Metapod, Weedle, Beedrill, Butterfree, Venonat… He caught a girl Butterfree, a Beedrill, and a Venomoth. When he got to the other side, a kind lady gave him the TM Sweet Scent, to attract more wild pokémon. Ash thanked her and proceeded on until he hit the town Goldenrod. Misty and Brock finally found their way out of the forest and discovered that they were in Celadon City, of all places. Apparently they had walked to Celadon instead of where they had originally been planning to go, New Bark Town. Ash had wanted to find Professor Elm and learn about new pokémon. Well, at least they were no longer starving and had rented an apartment to live in for the time being. They didn't know where to look for Ash. Misty was worried. Ash had got past the 'tree' that had been blocking the road and had captured Utsogi (Sudowoodu.) He was rather proud of himself. He had also been to the Goldenrod Department store and had stocked up on lemonade, soda pop, and fresh water, plus a few TM's. There were plenty of berry and apricorn bushes that could be plucked at will, and he was happy. He had upgraded his poke belt using his powers, so now it could hold all his pokémon. He was now ready to fight Akane (I don't remember what her name in English is.) to get the Plain (English?) badge. Ash walked into Akane's gym and was mobbed by a bunch of Junior Trainers who all had Snubull's, Jigglypuffs, Granbulls, and the occasional Clefairy. After many successful battles, Ash's Pidgeot was tired out. Ash finally found Akane and challenged her. Her first pokémon was Clefairy. "Clefairy, Metronome!" shouted Akane. "Pidgeot-wait, you're too tired to battle. Never mind. Noctowl, go!" The Noctowl used foresight to sense the attack, than used Hypnosis to put the Clefairy to sleep. Finally, she ended with Dream Eater. Akane was shocked that a Noctowl had beat her Clefairy, but she was too proud to admit defeat, so she threw out her next pokémon, Milktank. "Milktank, attract!" yelled Akane. "Stupid, Noctowl's a girl!" screamed Ash back at her. "Noctowl, Confusion followed by Double Edge!" the Noctowl complied by attacking with confusion followed by Double Edge which drained half of Milktank's HP. Unfortunately, Milktank used the attack Milk Drink so it recovered. Then, it used rollout on Noctowl, knocking it out. "Noctowl, return. Flaafy, go!" Flaafy, who was also a girl, was unaffected by Milktank's Attract attack and used Thunderwave on Milktank, paralyzing it, followed by a Headbutt and a Thundershock. It successfully fainted Milktank, so Ash was rewarded with the Plain badge. He left the gym and headed back to his campsite. So…how do you like it so far? List of Ash's new pokémon. 1.
