And just in case anyone cares, Ash is 15. I found it interesting that in Japan you can have sex legally at age 12. O.O

Um… this is the only really championshipping chapter I think!

Chapter 13

            That little brat!
Misty tore her pictures of Ash to shreds, all of them, in the frenzy of red rage.

            How dare he!

How dare he beat her! How dare he win!

            She would make him pay!

            She would!

A brownish mist oozed out around her, wisps of smoke caressing her body. Help me…

“Missingno.” Misty said, correctly identifying the creature.

We are one, you and I, you know that don’t you?

            Misty smiled. “Yes…”

Her eyes turned black, her hair had a purple streak, as they melded together again. You can’t keep a soul fractured, after all.

            She would get her revenge.

            Yes, she would.

The next day, it began to rain fire.

Sometimes, things take time. Sometimes, they don’t. However, no matter the cause, nipping the sickness in the bud.

The faster cleansing happens, the better. That way the disease cannot spread. Like SARS, keeping it a secret only makes it worse when the secret is revealed.

            Plague and destruction spread too…

But this time, they caught it early.

It was very lucky Ash had the Missingno card to help him.

            Cards don’t lie.

Charlotte held the scales tightly in her hands, as she looked at Ash and nodded. Lance’s eyes were closed, the threads of spell-magic tightly keeping the creature immobile.

“Destiny Bond!” Ash cried, before he used Self-Destruction.

Misty screamed, being torn apart, but glad Ash would die as well. Alas, her plot was badly foiled.

“Sacrifice Phoenix to bind Thunderbird to earth!”

Charlotte smiled grimly, form replaced by white light. * Idiot, you don’t’ know, do you? The three won’t fall, even if two must die to keep the balance. You’d think she would have learned by now… *

            But it was no matter.

She was happy with what she had, and she liked seeing them happy. Maybe it was motherly instinct, maybe not, but..

In any case, death and sacrifice were nothing to a Chosen.

Ash glowed, the healing complete. He smiled at Lance, then at Charlotte’s fading form.

            “Arigato, aneki.”

“Enjoy life for me, you two, because I cannot.’ The girl replied, before she was gone completely.

            Ash nodded. * I will… *

Strong arms carried him back to the room to rest, and he gladly fell into the peace sleep offered.

The next morning, he woke up when Lance kissed him.

            “Ohayo gozaimasu, kawaii ko.”

            “Ohayo.” Ash replied shyly.

A blush darkened his cheeks, as he realized that with Misty gone, maybe… maybe they could just live?

            And that would, of course…

A particularly warm memory fused itself into his mind, and Ash blushed further, looking down at the sheets.

“Something wrong?” Lance’s voice was just a shade too perfect, and soft, and silky…

Ash blushed further, feeling his hormones take over his brain. “A-ano, we shouldn’t Lance-chan…”

Lance’s brilliant eyes stared into his. “Just say no, then. I can wait.”

Ash’s breath caught in his throat. But… he did want it…all of it…

            He wanted love.

He wanted warmth, and companionship, and everything the Dragon Master had offered him.

He loved the silky sweetness and the ice that flowed through them when they made love in the past.

            He wanted to be complete.

It didn’t matter, what else might happen.

He was bound to the other trainer, heart and soul, and as long as the phoenix rose from its ashes, it would stay.

            Yes…

Ash’s eyes widened as Lance kissed him again, deepening the contact, so soft and warm and wonderful…

And he really didn’t care what the future held, because the present was pretty, so pretty, and Lance was warm…

He mewled involuntarily, as he tasted the other trainer, ice cream sparkling and glittering and cotton candy and snow…

He didn’t fight back, he knew what he wanted.

It was all for the best.

“Well, that’s that.” Moltres said, closing the page with a beak.

“You actually keep copies of all of this?” Zapdos said, intrigued.

            “Well, history is important.’

            “Point taken.”

“And it’s so much more expedient, if we know what to do when history does repeat itself.”

Zapdos nodded, and they left the library.

A curtain fell over the stage, the end, no more to be said, sometimes it’s better to let the mind speculate.
