Yes, another chapter. *Phantomness hums*

Lance: So now I’m dead?

Phantomness: I never said that! *Huggles Kairo*

Kairo: *blinkies*

I think this is just after CCA and Dragons’ Love

Disclaimer: I don’t own pokemon!

Chapter 8: Victory – the road

It was dark. The ceiling dripped. There were trainers lurking around every corner. Did they actually live in this cave?

            Ugh.

            “I challenge you!”

Ash groaned inwardly as a Cooltrainer spotted him. “Okay, Jessica.”

            Jessica smirked. “Go! Kingler!”

            “Pichu…”

Pichu was a very small bundle of electric fluff. However, it was also a very dangerous bundle of electric fluff.

Thunderbolt knocked out the Kingler quickly.

Pichu preened, as she groomed herself, waiting for the next pokemon.

            “Grr… Ivysaur, go!”

Pichu hopped onto Ash’s shoulder as Cyndaquil appeared. He used Flamethrower to end that match.

            And finally, there was…a Golbat?

            Pichu cheered. My turn again!

            < Yes. Sweet kiss. >

Golbat got confused, bellsprouts ‘round the head.

            “Now, use Thunderwave!”

It was the evil paralysis/confusion tactic.

Golbat hit itself. The next turn, when its mind was clear, it was paralyzed.

            Jessica seethed. “Golbat, Bite!”

Golbat had another confusion free turn and flew at Pichu slightly slower, trying to eat her.

But Pichu just sent a ball of Zap Cannon into that gaping mouth.

Golbat was now frazzled, nearly out of HP, and managed to hit itself in confusion on the next turn.

Jessica glared, handed Ash $2100, and stormed off.

Ash waved and hugged Pichu, feeding her a few strawberries before Pichu went back into the dream realm.

He didn’t get more than ten feet away before another Cooltrainer challenged him.

Ash resisted the urge to sigh, but was very glad he had dream realm access. It saved cash.

            “Go! Raticate!”

“I hate those…” Ash muttered. * They show up everywhere and don’t give enough EXP… *

            “Mysdreavus… play with him.’

Mysdreavus happily obliged, getting rid of all six Raticates Percy had.

Not a hit was landed on her.

            Ash walked on again.

And thus it continued. By the time Ash was out two days later, he was quite wealthy.

Assuming, of course, he did not blow all his money on Full Restore and Revive at the Indigo Plateau store.

Still… he was out of the tunnel!
            Fresh air!

Nurse Joy idly noted that this boy’s pokemon seemed to be in quite good shape. Maybe he had avoided most of the trainers to achieve this state.

            Maybe…

And so, the next day, Ash began the Elite Four challenge.

Lorelei only looked sad when he defeated her. So all of the pokemon had been taken down due to Infernowolfe’s attacks. A red wolf with three gold lightning shaped bands on its back, a white chest, and a gold stripe on each ear.  The fire/electric wolf looked quite pleased with himself.

“You did very well, Ash, but… I hope my cousin knows what she is doing.”

            Ash blinked. “Cousin?”

“Lance and I are cousins, yes?”

            “I didn’t know that!”
“You know now.” Lorelei collected her fallen pokemon, sighing. “It’s too late to turn back now, Ash.”

Ash could only stare as he walked into Bruno’s room. * What was that all about? She’s acting strange… *

            “Bruno, I challenge you.”

Bruno grunted, putting down his weights. “Very well. But I have power on my side! Can you withstand our might?”

Ash rolled his eyes. “If I have speed, then…”

A flick of his wrist released Pidgeot opposite Bruno’s Hitmonchan. Pidgeot’s insanely fast Wing Attack knocked out Hitmonchan first.

Seeing this, Bruno swapped for Onix, only to receive an Icy Wind from Sneasal.

Between the bird and cat combination, where was Xatu, Bruno was also defeated.

“The Elite Four could use your power.” Bruno mused, waving him to Agatha’s room. “Go on!”

Ash was creeped out as he took out the pokemon tombstones all over the place in Agatha’s room. * Woah… ghost attractions, definitely. *

            < Careful, Ash… >
            < I will be, Sabrina. >

< And watch your step. >
< Charlotte! What are you doing in my head? >

< Just checking on you. >

            < Okay… >

Ash stopped talking as Agatha walked in on her cane. “Well then, shall we begin?”

            “Yes.”

            “Gengar… Dream Eater!”
