Chapter 5

What to do? What to do?

“Ash!” Delia said brightly. “Come on! Misty came over to see you.”

Ash repressed a shudder. He didn’t want to deal with her, especially not now. She just wanted to bed him.

At least that was the impression he got.

Still, he was a good child and went out and greeted her and they chatted for a few minutes, and he went swimming with her.

            But he felt nothing.

            He wanted to go back.

Delia interpreted it as a good sign.

“Ash, I’m going to engage you to Misty. It’s a great match.” It would cheer him up too.

She was totally unprepared when Ash fled. Literally. Out the door in a flash he was gone.

            “Ash?”

What was wrong with him? Maybe he still needed time to recover, it had only been three days…

            Maybe?

            Ash huddled underneath a tree.

I want to go back… why doesn’t she see that?

            Lance-chan…

            Please… come take me home…

            < I cannot. >

            Ash jumped. < Lance-chan? >

There was a shimmer, like a mirage, before his crimson-streaked wings fanned out behind him.

< Fly home Ash. I can’t do anything here; that is not my realm. >

Ash nodded. The wings were a present.

            He wouldn’t waste them.

            He flew.

Unfortunately, Misty saw him. “ASH! COME BACK!” She grabbed him, somehow, and pulled him back down to earth.

            He cried.

He fought her, but she wouldn’t let go.

He wanted to go back! Why couldn’t she see that?

Finally, he had to use his last resort.

Misty’s eyes widened in shock as Ash plunged his black-hafted dagger through her chest.

She wouldn’t die of course, but it would be very painful.

“I hate you.” Ash whispered, before he flew up, and opened the gates to the forbidden area, the secret realm.

            Lance was waiting.

Without another thought, he flung himself into the boy’s arms, and did not let go. He would never leave.

Lance kissed him gently, coaxed him to sit down, and they lay side by side under black silk sheets.

            Together forever.

            “Are you?”

            “Yes.”

Lance nodded, as his fingers slid over Ash’s shoulders, pulling him closer. “I will not deny you anything, my little light.”

            Ash smiled. “I know.”

So soft and pretty, pretty little one, I’ll never hurt you, don’t you know that? Yes… warmth and light and sweet…

He nipped gently, and the little one squeaked. Adorable little one…

            Forever mine.

Fingers lightly probing, not deep, but enough to cause pain, but in a minute it was wiped away.

Kissed the tears falling from those eyes.

            Shh… It’ll get better, yes…

Smiled as the little one purred.

Stars fell and glittered and burned.

Cold, so cold, but he clung just the same, and the cold didn’t hurt. It was warm in cold and perfect.

            He mewled.

Teeth lightly grazed his shoulder, and he moaned involuntarily, shudders running through his body.

Don’t worry, I’m not scared. I know you’ll keep me safe.

            Mine.

            Mine, darkness, mine…

So dark and rich and honey and cherry syrup, blood…

            Stars, wonderful…

            Keep me? Forever…

            Ash had made his decision.

Forget the light, and embrace the shadows.

            *CRASH*

END

Um… yes.

Insanity!
I can’t excuse this fic. *sighs* don’t ask me why, I just felt like insanity.
