Yes, I have finally started Part II!

Notes: As before, this is a CCS and HP crossover. Syaoran is in Gryffindor with Ron and Harry. He has all 52 ‘Clow-turned-Syaoran cards’ as well as some Syaoran cards he created himself. Yue is his guardian. Syaoran is also Eriol’s son and Sakura’s half-brother.

I use <> for telepathy between guardian and card master, and ** for some thoughts.

Chapter 26 – Year 2 at Hogwarts – Yue’s POV

I assumed the summer would be interesting as soon as we got off the train – well, Master Syaoran and Harry did.  I was in my little cage as usual, playing the innocent little rabbit. It works well as a disguise, I must say…

Anyways, this grotesquely obese man and boy came towards us, accompanied by this thin woman who looked as if she had spent the last few years of her life eating nothing but sour lemons, her face was so pinched and drawn.

I noticed that Master Syaoran was starting to look unhappy, although no one had really said anything yet. The man – Vernon Dursley, I later learned his name – just grunted at Harry and Syaoran as they put his trunks in their car.

“I can’t believe we have to host one of your freak friends too…”

Harry just lowered his head. Syaoran, on the other hand, looked angry.

“Mr. Dursley. I am not a freak. I would like to remind you that you are being paid quite a large sum of money to host me at your house these three weeks. Also, in case you did not realize, I am the heir to the Li Clan of Hong Kong. Surely you have heard of them?”

Vernon instantly paled. The Li Clan owned at least half of the business in that area, and was a very wealthy family.

Harry’s eyes goggled at Syaoran. “You never told me this, Yuki!”

            “Never came up.”

Still, it is annoying being in a small form sometimes. Now I know why Cerberus hates it so. He’s much less patient than I…

Hmm… what ought I to do now? Transforming into my real form would hardly be beneficial. < Master Syaoran? >

< Yes? And you know you don’t have to call me that anymore, Yue. I’ve only been saying that for the past year. >

            < I cannot help it. >

< Yue, why the sudden distance? Is it because of Eriol? >

How did he get to be so perceptive?

< I… I promise not to hurt you like Clow did. I swear by the moon. > What? He’s invoking the moon itself to back up his promise?

            He’s serious!

            But I’m only a guardian… still, he is still a child…

Perhaps he does not quite understand the power play yet.

            < I… >

< Yue! We’re friends at least! Come on! Quit it with the master Syaoran! >

            < Very well… >

But I can still think it. He cannot read my thoughts, thank Clow…

            Now what?

They’re unpacking the car. Syaoran-sama takes me out first, of course. I would hate to be jostled around like a piece of furniture. Still, all he has is a trunk, courtesy of the help of the Loop card… there’s plenty of space in there.

I wonder how Harry’s guardians treat him? They don’t seem very amiable. In fact, they seem like… snapping turtles or rabid dogs.

            Stupid humans.

No, I shouldn’t think that. After all, Clow-sama and Syaoran-sama are humans, but they have magic.

            That makes all the difference.

“You two will have to share a room.” Vernon says in a tone that brooks no room for discussion. Idiotic man.

            I could easily kill him…

            If he dares harm Syaoran-sama…

No, I must be calm. I am the moon angel, the ultimate judge of masters, the guardian of the Clow – now Syaoran – cards.

I miss Cerberus, but not much. Odd. But he’s more suited for Sakura-sama in any case. How could I have not noticed the resemblance earlier?

Different upbringings, and different lifestyles made two vastly different magical children? Perhaps… but now is no time to ponder.

The room is small and filled to the brim with junk. Broken toys, but there are many books… untouched, dust-covered, and brand new.

Apparently that pig boy doesn’t read.

Harry sighs as he hangs up his owl cage and begins unpacking his trunk. “At least the Dursleys don’t know I can’t use magic over the summer…”

“I see… do they treat you badly?”

“Like a servant.” He doesn’t look too happy.

“But they’re your family, aren’t they?”

“Yes, on my mother’s side. They think magic is evil… they try to beat it out of me.” Both our eyes go wide.

            “That’s horrible… don’t worry, Harry. I’ll see what I can do.”

“It’s Dumbledore’s fault I’m here. And I’m used to it, Yuki. It’s really not that bad.” He looks down, sighing inwardly.

            “Liar.”

I would have said that in a more polite way, but Master Syaoran didn’t… well; he can say what he wishes I supposed.

“What?” Harry looks angry. “Don’t’ you trust me?”

“Look, I’m not blind.” Master Syaoran states. “I know that when they picked you up, you cringed and tried to hide. I can see those signs. Your clothes are mostly hand-me-downs. I doubt they even feed you.”

            “They’re not that bad!”

            “It’s still child abuse.”

“But I can’t do anything about it, so I may as well accept it!” He cries.

            Hmm…

“Don’t worry,” His voice drops, blue eyes sparkling with a thought. “No magic is not a problem for me.”

            “What?”

“I want you to enjoy summer away from Malfoy. If there’s one thing I learned, it’s that life is too short to waste. And these muggles…” He almost spits the word out – “Aren’t the best people by a long shot.”

            “You’re a muggleborn too!”

“Ah… that’s where I lied to you. The Li Clan is a huge family business, yes, but also one of the oldest magical families in the world. I’m pure-blooded.”

“Fine.” Harry spits. “Go be friends with Malfoy.”

“I mean no insult to you, Harry.” Syaoran-sama sighs, almost regretfully. “But I’m afraid this will change things. Erase!”

Harry’s eyes glaze for a second. “Sorry, were we talking about something?”

“I think it’s not safe for you to stay here, Harry.”

“Don’t worry, they shouldn’t try anything with a guest around.”

            “… I suppose so…”

            “So, what now?”

            “I guess we’re free until dinner.” Harry said. * I hope I don’t have to do chores… ugh… that’ll be humiliating… *
