Chapter 38 – Yue
“Clow-sama?” I ask politely as I follow with Harry Potter. Sure enough, this man is the very image of my old master…
“Yes, welcome, Syaoran, Ashura… you have been long awaited.”
“Um… his name is Harry Potter, Clow-san.” Master Syaoran interrupts.
“Ah yes, but it is Ashura in other places.” He smiles. “One life, many possibilities…”
Syaoran-sama looks confused. Clow-sama laughs. “Don’t worry about it, my cute descendent. I know that you need a place to stay. Please, feel free to stay here at my house. Charlotte, Lance, they’re here!”
I am utterly confused. Soon, two people emerge. One is a girl with wavy black hair in a black and white school uniform, I sense sun magic from her. The second is a teen wearing a black bodysuit, red jacket, and black cape, and he radiates magic of the moon and darkness.
“Oh, my little brother’s back. Finally!” Charlotte grins.
Lance nods, as they take Harry from me with Clow-sama’s assent.
Syaoran-sama blinks, as Clow-sama gets up from his armchair and leads him to a room. “I’m sure that you are quite confused by now.”
“Hai.” Master nods.
“It’s simple. Harry Potter is actually from the future, an incarnation of someone else. You see, in this dimension, after having crossed many dimensions, I found one that suited me and created three books of magic cards, to help keep that dimension stable. The time goddess there instructed me to. Those two children you just saw hold two of the books. Harry – Ashura – holds the third.”
“So…?”
“Neither you nor he truly belong in your world.”
“So we belong here instead?”
Clow shook his head. “This dimension is a small one, a stopping point between others. Yue, have you met Yuuko in your dimension?”
“Who?” I ask, confused.
“Never mind. She is a dimension witch. She specializes in the art of dimensional travel. Luckily, with the Gateway card, you will not need to talk to her.”
“I see?”
“Yes, well…” He shrugs. “Give him a few days, Syaoran. I’m afraid that Harry will be quite changed after this.”
I understand. He doesn’t seem to.
“You mean?”
“Yes, he will remember his memories from ages past… and even some from different futures of his.”
“He’s still my friend.” Master Syaoran defends loyally.
“I know. He will be your friend…but not your love.”
Master Syaoran chokes. “Not interested.”
“Well, then, there is nothing to fear… enjoy yourselves. You can only stay here for a week or so…”
“Thank you, Clow-san.” He bows respectfully, and then I follow him up to a room. He seems rather tense.
Perhaps the effects from that Dementor have not yet worn off…
“Syaoran?”
“Yue…” He almost collapses in my arms to my surprise. “Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why is life so unfair? We’ve all been tested and tried and thrown away, why must we suffer so?”
“Syaoran…” I do not know what to say.
He’s so warm in my arms… what am I thinking? This is wrong! I am a guardian and he is my master…
I cannot let him…
“Please, Syaoran-sama, we can’t…” He does not listen as he looks up and traces along my face. I should be cold and uncaring, but no! I feel…
I feel alive, and then… Gods! Did he just…?
He did.
He just kissed me.
If I were human I think I’d be hyperventilating, but right now, I’ll just settle for staring… and some more staring…
There is no way that what I think just happened, happened…
I’m going to die. Isn’t it against the laws somewhere, for a guardian to love their master?? But that kiss was sweet, unbelievably sweet…
And I liked it…
He finally breaks the kiss, blushing. “Yue…”
“Syaoran-sama…?”
“I don’t regret it.” He whispers, before he kisses me again. And I don’t quite care anymore, because…
This is worth whatever punishment may come…
I almost want to ravish him, and show him exactly how I feel, but he’s still too young… “I love you, Master Syaoran…”
He blushes again. “I’ve loved you ever since I saw you, Yue. I don’t care if Yukito was your false form…”
It’s… warm.
Maybe this won’t be so bad.
He’s willing to face danger for my sake, and he’s brave. I don’t love him for his looks, I love him for his spirit.
I don’t care if he’s Clow’s son.
I just need to believe that everything will be all right…
He and Harry/Ashura – they’ve been through so much. Just because someone is powerful does not mean they are evil.
However, if they keep pushing…
The darkness will eventually overwhelm the mage’s natural light and he will fall to the darkness, because it is expected.
Revenge…
I will protect Syaoran-sama.
