Chapter 3

They are cuddling when they hear a slight scraping sound and two figures drop in on a Jigglypuff. He recognizes Blue, but not the red-haired boy she is with.

            “…. Lance?”
The boy is surprised, but Lance simply smirks. “Hello, Silver.”

“It is not quite Silver anymore, Wrath.”

Wrath… he likes the sound of it, and it strikes a chord with him that sings Pride… and as he looks at Blue, what he hears in his voice is Greed, and as for the only who is Silver…

            Sloth?

            How odd.

“So now we are four.” Blue states, and her eyes glitter with a feeling he recognizes. He wonders what made her, but a moment later, he laughs.

            “Moon Stone?”

“How interesting. You and Lance managed to use the legendary stones of Vermillion. You are fortunate in that respect… the rest of us have much higher energy requirements.” Silver states.

Red smiles. “Yes, well… we were lucky.”

Lance smiles and puts his arms around Red, and Silver simply smiles and nudges Blue, who grins.

            “We would like a truce.”

“A truce?” Red nods. “That would make sense.”

After all if they fought each other, until one of them ran out of energy, then nothing would resolve, and also… it is a bit unfair, since the deck is stacked for them.

“I care not for the people,” Lance says, “But if there is any area you wish me not to touch, I will respect your wishes.”

“Then we’ll take Johto, and leave you Kanto.” Silver states.

They shake on the deal, and feel the stone energy flicker through their hands, reminding them that they are no longer quite human, despite appearances.

But neither of them minds, and Blue winks at Lance and mouths ‘Go for it’, while Lance just smiles.

He knows far more than he sees, after all, but so does she.

Wrath. He thinks of the name, and it fits ever so well. Red makes a needy noise in his throat though, so he puts his thoughts on hold and runs his fingers through dark hair.

            Red is purring.

Red is Pride now, but it matters little. All that really counts is the fact that they are together and no one is ever going to separate them again.

He’ll raze Kanto to the ground, and turn all the people into materials to make the land grow green and rich again, and the pokémon will roam and everything will be fine.

And if they are hailed as Gods after, well, what of it?

            The pokémon will love them.

And if anyone comes to try and hurt Red, he will use fire and water to destroy him or her. Red smiles when he says that.

Such a pretty little child, all sharp lightning and peaceful plants.

Such a dichotomy his lover is…

It is all the more important to protect him of course!

Yes, and this way, he will keep Red safe… and Red will be happy, because he is brilliant and powerful.

The old man and the child in the hat show up several days later, and he hears them gasp when they see him. Red peeks over his shoulder, and already his hands are curving into claws, black as jet and sharper than diamond.

            He likes them that way.

Now, he will be strong enough to destroy the child. He underestimated the child last time, but this time, there will be mercy.

There are no props around. This time, when she dies, it will be real. Red nods, and he lets go, before he blurs towards them so fast that they don’t even feel it until it is over.

He licks dark blood off his fingers as the child collapses.

It is rather impossible to live while missing certain organs, after all.

The old man roars, and he throws out pokémon one by one. A mighty Tauros stamps it’s foot, a Pidgeot caws harshly, a Flareon flames angrily, and finally, the last one is… a Venusaur?

Red thinks of Venus, but then his eyes harden. Lance laughs, as he raises his arms and the dragons rise from the sea. It is quite beautiful, the silhouettes of powerful beasts at his command, and Hyper Beam strikes down first one than another…

The old man looks terribly shocked.

Red is speaking now, and Lance listens not to hear the words, but more for the tone, for Red sounds angry, and it makes his blood burn just thinking of it.

He winds his arm around his beloved’s neck from behind, and smiles sweetly.

Red is still speaking, and the old man looks terribly frazzled now, but then he sighs, and reaches into his pocket, and holds out something.

It looks very much like a strand of hair. Red’s hair?

And Red freezes, and Lance knows somehow, that that is a very bad thing, so he snarls, and his Gyarados is more than happy to tear the old man to shreds, and as it happens, that strand of hair flies away into the ocean.

            And Red is breathing again.

            “My hair…”

            “Your hair is lovely.”

“I know, but my old self…” Red shivers. “I think…”

So they are weak to what remains of his past forms. He begins to understand. Well, luckily, he never had much, but then he should fly over to Johto and destroy everything just in case.

But he will not have to go himself.

Dragonair is more than happy to take Clair a message, and she flies off while her mate watches, and waits.

And soon, he feels fire burn in his skin, and he knows that she is following his orders, and it hurts, but his body regenerates again and again…

            And finally, it is over.

And the next day, Pallet Town is nothing but a smoking ruin.

End Chapter

Completed 6/29/06

Yes, Red and Lance are homunculi – not quite human transmutation – and I have no idea why I used seaweed, but it seemed to fit. They’ve got the legendary power of the evolution stones inside of them instead of red stones, but other than that, it’s pretty much the same. Blue and Silver on the other hand, have Moonstones inside as their energy source, and have to eat more to regain energy.
