I’m sure a plot will emerge. I have a title, I’ve randomly selected pokemon, and to help me find a plot, I RP! ^^

Disclaimer: Phantomness truly wishes she owned pokemon. Then she would be filthy rich and not have to worry about failing organic chemistry. Unfortunately, pokemon belongs to Nintendo, Shogakukan Comics, and a whole host of other people. Phantomness is very sad about that… but this non-profit, non-copyright infringing fanfiction belongs to her and taking it is plagiarism!

Chapter 1

It was blatantly unfair, he thought, as he watched the fireworks go off. Certainly, he had attributed to help at Cerise – he had defeated Bruno after all, but it paled in comparison to Yellow’s victory. Everyone was raising a toast to her and her amazing powers.

It wasn’t fair, because s he had only won using his Pika. Why did everyone forget that fact? Besides, if not for the power they had used with their three starters to power up Pikachu’s Megavolt, it would not have mattered.

They would not be here now if that were not the case.

Really, though, Red did not understand just why he was jealous. There was enough glory to go around…

So why was he so bitter?

Maybe he had gotten too much of the spotlight in the past, but even then he had shared with Blue and Green.

Something was wrong, but what? Was it because Pika was with Yellow now? Pika did seem to prefer Yellow, because she had that Viridian Power…

Was that the reason he was jealous? He was lamenting the fact that he hadn’t inherited any mystical basis to help train pokemon? Ridiculous!

He was Kanto Champion without any magic, thank you very much!

It was probably just anxiety – he still hadn’t fully recovered from Lorelei’s ice voodoo magic. His wrists still ached with phantom pain.

Red sighed. Today was just not a good day, and all the dancing and festivity wasn’t helping. Blue was smiling and dancing with a red haired boy…

Green and his sister Daisy were off doing their own thing…

“What do you want? What is thy desire?”

Red didn’t look around. Some random girl had been standing in a corner reciting fake old English all night. He had no idea what she was doing there, but she had to be a gym leader or Elite trainer…

Ah well. None of his business, really…

“Someone is here to see you, Red.” His mom called. Red yawned as he climbed out of bed, blearily remembering that he had gotten drunk last night, though unintentionally – he was sure someone had laced the punch!

            His head throbbed.

Who was Yellow, anyways? He was just some kid from Viridian. Why had Blue sent Pika to him?

Was it really that important to have a special ability? According to Mewtwo, Giovanni and Lance also possessed it, so…

            He’d have to be careful.

Yellow might wind up evil just like Giovanni and Lance, and if he took Pika down the dark path…!
Red’s fingers fisted involuntarily, even as he opened the door.

What he first saw was a smile, before the rest of her features registered. He nearly slammed the door in her face before his brain caught up with him. No, this was not Lorelei… Lorelei had different colored hair and glasses.

This girl was wearing a blue leotard and a cape. However, she did not look threatening.

“Who are you?” Red blurted out the first thing that came to mind.

“I’m Clair, Leader of the Blackthorn Gym in Johto.” Clair smiled. “I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions?”

            “Um… sure.”

Clair smiled, although to Red it seemed that she was exhausted. Still, she dredged up a façade of happiness. “Were you the one who fought my brother at Cerise?”

“Your brother? Bruno is your brother?”

“Never mind.” She got up to leave, but Red stopped her.

“You’re talking about Lance, aren’t you? I had no idea he had any relatives…”

“We’ve only met once or twice. My grandfather disowned him.” Clair said shortly. Red blinked.

            “Oh. Well, that’s interesting.”

“Sorry for wasting your time. I’ll leave now.”

Red waved goodbye, wondering why she had asked him and not Yellow. Still, he felt a swell of pride. No matter what, he was still League Champion.

            That helped.

He awoke to excruciating agony in every fiber of his being. Honestly, he was surprised that he was still alive and breathing. There were footsteps close by, though, which was not good…

He closed his eyes and concentrated, and they went right past him. It seemed that he still had a little control, but not much.

He doubted that it would be wise to Heal. It would have to wait until they were gone. Finally, the steps tapered off.

Lance sat up and pressed his hands to his chest, concentrating. A pale wash of blue surrounded him as he sighed.

            Safe for now…

His poor pokemon were nearly dead, thanks to that… Pikachu. He gritted his teeth as he remembered the child. Yellow, his name was. Well, payment would be extracted soon… once he finished.

His two Dragonair were still alive, and his Aerodactyl, but Gyarados and Kairyuu were…

Lance winced as he caught sight of the lifeless corpses. “I will not let your deaths be in vain,” He swore. He crossed himself and knelt down next to them, whispering underneath his breath. Finally, he had his twins set the corpses aflame with Fire Blast….

The ashes drifted up towards the sky, and Lance released Aerodactyl, leaving Cerise without a second look back.

A pair of slitted silver eyes watched, before the owner took out a cell phone.

            “Well?”

            “He’s alive.”

            “I suspected as much.”

            “Any orders?”

“No. He’s not our enemy yet. We’d best keep it that way.”

            “Understood.”

The figure released a Murkrow and flew off in the opposite direction, to Johto…
