Ash: All about me. ^-^

Phantomness: I’m glad you like it, my new muse

Ash: Oh? So what do I muse for?

Phantomness: Humor, darkfic, and serious are already taken… you get action/adventure.

Ash: Yay!

Chapter 6

Ash waited to see what would appear. He had his father’s old pokemon plus his own, and he was no slacker. It helped to understand pokemon when you trained them that really helped. Loyalty on both sides and no lies.

All in all, it was a good situation, wasn’t it?

            “Go! Eevee!”

Ash’s eyes widened as an Eevee with a broken leg and cracked ear appeared, his eyes turning purple for a split second before going back to their normal dark green, empathy kicking in.

            Poor thing…

“Gligar, Guillotine!” Ash commanded. * It’ll be quick and spare the Eevee the pain. * In a split second, Eevee had fainted gladly.

Gligar flew around Ash’s head for a few minutes happily. Oh yeah, am I the best or what!

            Yes, yes…

            Go me!

Gligar was one of his own, not that high-leveled, but level wasn’t everything. Besides, he had a brain.

Most pokemon did, but the trainers did not acknowledge it and often lost battles with goof-ups that could have been avoided. Then, they took out the anger on their pokemon.

What a twisted view of life, what a base abuse of power.

The pokemon should be free, or at least have a good trainer, Ash believed. * Yes… the world would be so much smoother that way. *

So much could be prevented by power’s removal.

Ash waited for Emily’s next pokemon.

            “Grr! Jolteon, go!”

A newly evolved Jolteon announced its presence with a cry and then quickly used Thunder over the whole area.

Ash’s eyes widened, she was trying to knock him out too?! Well, people would do anything to get power. And he was a stumbling block to her…

Gligar was unaffected, being ground type, while Haunter protected Ash with a shield of ghostly energy.

            < Why that cheater… >

            I know, Haunter.

< Let me use Dream Eater on her, > the ghost wheedled. < It will keep her from hurting pokemon again. >

            “Really?”

< Really, really. > It was time to show the boy what he could do to prevent pokemon abuse.

            Yes…

It was time to put his power to a more accurate work.

            “Sandstorm.”

A sandstorm brewed, dealing damage to Jolteon each turn while Gligar sand-attacked, it wasn’t as if Jolteon’s electric moves were really doing anything.

Ash hid a smirk. It was out of character, but she deserved it for hurting poor pokemon like that!

Jolteon fainted under the barrage of stinging sand.

“I think it’s time you got off your high horse, Emily.”

“Why you!” The girl screamed in outrage. “Graveler! Explosion!”

            “Protect…”

Protect being faster, that was another one of her pokemon down.

Ash hated using Self-destruct and Explosion; those were only for extreme measures. They hurt the pokemon using them, except for voltorbs and electrodes that normally exploded.

            Yes... now what’s next?

            “Flareon, go!”

“Gligar, you can take a break,” Ash said, knowing sweat starting to form on the pokemon’s forehead. * That’s enough; I don’t want to tire him out. *

            “Milotic, let’s go.”

The elegant water type smiled as she curled her long body around Ash, and then spat out a Water Pulse.

            Flareon was most definitely down.

            Hello master ash.

“Hi, Milotic. Did you enjoy your vacation?”

Oh yes, visiting my relatives was fun while it lasted. My nieces and nephews are so cute!

            “I see.”

And grandfather Mist was so funny! He’s still cracking jokes like no tomorrow.

“Last pokemon.” Emily muttered. * I can’t lose to an idiot like him! I can’t and I won’t! Vaporeon’s the oldest one, anyways. And they were always the most powerful. I’ll show him not to underestimate me! *

            “Go! Vaporeon!”

            “Water to water?”

            I can win easily, Ash.

“Oh, I’m not worried about that.” Ash said truthfully. A Dragonbreath quickly paralyzed the Vaporeon.

            “Move, stupid thing!”

            “It’s paralyzed.” Ash said helpfully.

“I don’t care! What a useless pokemon! And after I trained it for so long, it still can’t fight!”

Ash kept a handle on his anger, although it was rapidly growing and growing. * What a ___… *

Milotic used another Dragonbreath, but Vaporeon’s naturally higher HP bar kept it in the running, and a Quick attack hit the dragon. Not too much damage was done though.

            “Let’s finish.”

Yes, let’s. We shouldn’t toy with pokemon that have bad trainers, just finish it quickly. Milotic agreed. Twister!

            Down fell a fainted Vaporeon.

As Emily charged Ash, anger in her eyes, Haunter’s attack hit. He had been preparing for some time. A lifeless shell tumbled down.

< That is punishment for your transgressions. > Haunter sent.

            “So young and already tainted?”

< That’s the way things are, unfortunately. >

“Then I’ll do my best to stop it.” Ash promised, as he smiled at his pokemon, who grinned back.
