Summary: Inspired by the movie ’13 going on 30’. What if Ash made a wish for fame and fortune? Would he be happy?

Title: Twelve going on twenty

Twelve candles burned on the two-tiered chocolate cake, glistening with ripe strawberries atop tiers of whipped cream.

Ash smiled as he blew them all out.

Misty, Brock, Lance, and Delia all clapped.

“So what did you wish for?” Misty asked.

“Not telling!” Ash said. He had invited her because his mom had insisted he invite a girl. A real girl, not like… well…

“I’m glad you invited me.” Brock said to diffuse the situation. He handed Ash a small package.

“Wow, a twenty-five dollar Poke Mart certificate! Thanks Brock!”

            “No problem.”

“Let’s play a game!” Misty interrupted.

            Ash blinked. “Okay.”

Misty grinned brightly at him, and Ash found himself smiling back. Maybe this was his ticket to popularity!

“Okay. You two – go in the closet and close your eyes.”

            Lance twitched slightly. “What?”

“Come on you two, it’ll be fun!” Misty smiled.

Lance and Ash grudgingly did so. The door to the closet closed behind them.

“So what did you wish for?” Lance asked in a whisper.

            Ash grinned. “I wished…”

However, before he could finish, a wave of pink sparkles swept him away…

            Ash opened his eyes, yawning.

A busty girl with shiny blonde hair was snuggled up against him. Topless.

            “EEK!”

Ash shot out of bed, trying to figure out where his pants were. This did not look good, whatever it was!

The girl continued to sleep, unawares.

Ash yanked on a pair of dark blue pants lying discarded on the ground, marveling for a second that they were made out of a very luxurious material. Silk, maybe?

Groaning, he tried to figure out what was going on.

            His head ached like crazy…

Ash happened to catch a glimpse of himself in the mirror and stared. He’d heard of growth spurts, but overnight?

Apparently he had filled out rather nicely, he flexed, admiring the muscle play. But still! How had it happened, and what on earth was going on? And his hair! It wasn’t spiky anymore! His eyes were narrow, his nose – eek! What had happened to his nose?

            Something else twitched his conscience.

            Where was Pikachu?

            Where was Pikachu!

Searching the rooms – nicely furnished, although he wasn’t sure they were to his liking, where *was* he?

This wasn’t right! No matter what happened, Pikachu should be here, right?

Ash groaned, and then headed off for a shower. He’d think later. Maybe this was just some… weird dream. Yes!
In that case, he wanted to wake up.

He had just finished getting out of the shower and was heading back to his room, wrapped in a white towel, after scrubbing lots of yucky crusted stuff off his body, when he gaped.

            The girl had woken up!
“Morning Ashy-boy.” She purred. “Ready for some more TLC?”

            “Huh?” Ash asked.

“Oh Ash, you’re so naïve. That’s what I love about you.” Mary Anne said as she stroked his bare chest. Ash jumped.

            “Hey! What are you doing?”

“Really, now. I know it’s cute to act all innocent, but I know you want me.” She purred as she kissed him.

            Ash screamed.

Shoving the girl away, he fled.

Mary Anne blinked. * That was new… *

            He was probably just stressed.

Ash panted, peeking out of the closet, having barricaded it from the inside with everything he could find.

            She was gone!

He dressed in the darkness, pulling on the first set of clothes he could find, which turned out to be a pair of black jeans and a red t-shirt. Hmm.

It looked like his clothes were normal enough, besides being kind of expensive.

He walked out, just in time to see a car drive away, the girl inside. Good.

Everything would be just fine now.

Checking the letters lying on the table, and seeing how they were all addressed to ‘Ash Ketchum’, he deduced that this was his house.

            But what was going on?

Where were his pokemon? And … what about his pokedex?

Ash suddenly smiled. He could call a friend!

Even if this were a dream, it should work.

Humming, he walked over to the phone and began dialing in Lance’s number.

The twenty-four year old Pokemon Champion climbed out of bed and glared at the phone. Who was it this time?

She hadn’t remembered giving out her phone number to anyone.

Hn. If some advertising agency had found it, she’d send her dragons after their blood. Yes… that would be *nice*…

            “Moshi moshi?”

“Lance! You’ve got to help me!”

Lance frowned. She didn’t recognize the voice…

            “Who is this?”

            “Ash Ketchum!”

            “Ah…”

On the other side of the line, Ash shivered. Upon hearing his name, Lance’s voice had gone cold, like ice.

            What in the world?

Is she mad at me? If so, why?

            “Please help me.” He begged.

“Fine. I’ll be at your apartment in a few minutes. But you’d better have a good reason for calling me…”

Ash hung up, wondering just what was going on.

            Weird dream this was…
