Does this even have a plot?

Stupid bunny ran away in mid-fic. Grrr. Guess this’ll wind up in very bad championshipping archive then. Or, if I get second wind…

Chapter 4

            Dead.

The old man hit the ground, wheelchair following.

They hadn’t even needed magic… Well, it was hard to avoid poison darts while in a wheelchair, even if the opponent was invisible…

            But still!

It was so _easy_; it wasn’t much of a challenge.

Would it always be this way, now? There was nothing left to defeat?

            No, that couldn’t be!

            They just had to wait.

Sooner or later, something would show up.

            … Most likely later…

“Are you scorning the easy tasks?”

“No, of course not.” Ash frowned. “Why do you ask?”

“I remember something happening in the past…”

            Ash blushed. “Hentai!”

“You’re the one who’s thinking about that. I was simply remembering one incident when I might have gotten killed…”

            “Oh?”

“It was rather easy, actually… do you know that Dragon Masters can’t technically drown, but…”

            “Lance?”

“Oh, I was a naïve stupid child… I never should have trusted the Elder.” Lance said. “My grandfather is not fond of me.”

            “Why?”

“I always believed it was because he feared my talent…”

“You have the Viridian Power and he doesn’t?”

            “That is not all…”

            “Hm?”

“Well, when I was just a baby, he tried to drown me in the Whirlpools behind the Dragon Shrine.”

“He what?! How do you know?”

            < Father reminded me. >

            < Oh… >

Lugia’s child and than he was the child of the phoenix Change…

They were both legendaries, neither really human, although he could be blind to that fact easily.

< So how did you survive? > Red asked.

Lance smirked. < I can’t ‘technically’ drown. He held me underwater for about ten minutes but I didn’t drown. I think I scared him. But it still hurt… >

            < Why? >

< I couldn’t breathe underwater so my body just kind of froze. >

Ash hugged Lance tightly. * I’m glad you didn’t drown! *

< But why does the Elder hate you? >

            < Power? >

< What if … Lance, what if we have to defeat him? >

            < That is actually a very good question… >

< Lance, how does the Dragon Clan really work? >

Lance frowned. < Supposedly, centuries ago, one of my ‘ancestors’ helped a Dragonite escape pursuit… it granted them access to the sacred caves and they brought the first dragons to the land. >

            < Then what? >

< Then… > Lance frowned. < Well… the clan’s talents were passed down from generation to generation, but then… >

            < Someone betrayed you? >

< Not quite. ‘We’ betrayed the dragons. A man by the name of William broke the contract and granted the key to the dragon’s realm to his father-in-law, and extended family. With that, dragons were released into this world. >

            < Wow. >

< Wow is not the right word, Ash. They couldn’t survive. Those that knew the way home fled, those that didn’t, well… >

            < Died. >

< Why do you think Dragon’s Den is the only place in Johto to catch wild Dratini? That is the area closest to their home, so they can live there… >

            < I see. >

< The elder is the same kind of man as William was. He’d sell his soul for money, power, fame… you name it. I presume that if I disguised myself as a lovely young girl he’d give me the key without hesitation. >

            < He wouldn’t! >

            < He would. > Lance said. < Please watch… >

He tossed Ash his Dark Mirror. Red flipped it open and began watching.

            Sure enough…

“Hello.” Lance said, as he took on Catelyn’s form, blond hair waving slightly in the wind.

The Elder’s eyes popped out in hearts from underneath his helmet. Please remember that the Elder is a tiny, wrinkled, man, only about two feet tall…

“I was wondering if you were the respected Elder of the Dragon Clan.”

“Of course!” The man proudly puffed up in pride.

            “Oh!”

“Yes! Let me show you the way to the dragon’s sacred land!”

What an idiot… Lance thought, as he followed.

Sure enough, the Elder took out the key and opened the door.

            It opened.

            “Thank you.”

“No problem, young lady! What’s your name?”

Lance smirked, letting the disguise melt away. “Baka… you just proved what I needed to know.”

            “L-lance? I didn’t know you were-!”

“Yes, that is precisely what I was counting on.” Lance grinned recklessly, as he ran his long nails across one arm, letting a few drops of blood fall. “And as a fitting punishment…”

            “NO!”

No matter how the man babbled, he couldn’t escape his fate either way.

“Curse of Dragon’s Blood… I call on the power of Chain Destruction.”

            Finito.
