Chapter 2! ^-^ Started 6/17/04

Lance: I see no plot, author

Phantomness: I’m working on it!

Emerald: Oh, seriously…

Ash: A plot probably won’t emerge for a while…

Chapter 2

Silver blades danced the dance of death as he smiled to himself, even if the Deoxys _were_ multiplying, he was still fast…

            More fell.

Sooner or later, he would be finished. It had only been a week.

He casually flicked the blood off his daggers, frowning at the splotches on his white and silver armor. He’d have to polish it later…

Right now was no time to take a break though.

Lance set his teeth grimly as the next wave surged towards him. Darkness flashed as he activated hidden power, but it would only work to a certain extent.

            Still…

            I won’t fail Lugia-san.

Squirtle followed Ash cheerfully as they walked to Pewter, he felt confident and sure enough, Brock was really easy to beat.

            But still…

Something seemed wrong just the same.

Poor Lance. No memories? That was horrible.

Squirtle and Ash split a carbonated soda while they sat on chairs across from each other outside Pewter City gym.

            What’s wrong, Master Ash?

“I’m worried about someone.” Ash said, moodily stirring the ice around with a flexible straw.

Oh? Is that someone your mate?

            “… Yes, in a way.”

            How sweet! Squirtle said excitedly.

            “I challenge you!”

Ash looked up, seeing Marie Yu, another beginning trainer (She had somehow managed to leave with a rare pokemon, or at least a rarer pokemon, meaning both a chikorita and a trapinch.)

One wonders how she had persuaded Professor Oak, being a nine-year old, but in either case…

“Certainly…” Ash drawled. Trapinch was very easy. One good Water Gun knocked it out.

            Chikorita?

That was slightly more difficult, but not very much so.

            No, not at all…

Marie’s eyes bugged out as Chikorita was wiped out from Blizzard.

            Ash smirked. “There we go.”

He could _feel_ the smile creeping up inside of him. It was nice. Well, if Lance didn’t remember, he could wait… and if that didn’t happen either, he could always seduce the other trainer…

            Yes, that would work…

            Lance smiled. “Done.”

It had been a month, but now, they were gone, nothing but black and the stars as far as the eye could see.

            So he had succeeded.

Not that he minded; it was _fun_ to wield the power and fly with the dragons and destroy the threat.

            He smiled again.

Lugia was waiting in Whirl Islands. < You did well, my Chosen. But then again, you always do. >

            He smiled at the praise.

            < Thank you, Lugia-san. >

< Do not worry, Chosen. The only problem is that your amnesia will last for another few months. >

            < I will be fine. >

< Yes, well, don’t be too hard on Ash. > Lugia said, before Lance left.

            “Ash?”

Dragonite shrugged. It’s none of my business…

Lance kicked the stray thought out of his mind. * Focus… duty’s first, remember? Now what to do… *

Johto was safe from his last scan.

That meant… Vacation! Yes, that would be very nice, indeed. He would go visit Articuno-chan in Seafoam and see how she was doing.

With that thought in mind, the trainer and his Dragonite flew on.

Articuno was very pleased. She liked company, and showed Lance all of her baby chicks. It was kind of cute actually…

He was covered with little bundles of blue feathers as he tried not to blush.

Well, they kept calling him ‘cousin’ at least, not ‘father’, so it was better than… well, normal, but really, he wasn’t Lugia’s child for nothing.

            He liked being a legendary.

It was hard, oh yes, not really… well, not for him. He didn’t _mind_ the death and destruction that bloomed whenever he deemed it should, or at least on Father and the other’s wishes.

He was happy with the way things were.

He was the perfect ice angel.

            Only…

There was no romance yet, but that could be remedied. The other Chosen was still too young, much too young…

It was better not to hurt the child.

No, no, they wouldn’t hurt him.

Strange. He could feel affection, but he couldn’t remember the grounds it had been built on. Still, they must have been close.

Even when he had seen the other in Pallet, he hadn’t wanted to hurt him. Hadn’t noticed the aura until much later, but that was fine.

            It would work out.
