Chapter 6

            “Lance.”

Lance jumped down from the tree he had been reclining in. “Hai?”

“I…” Ash swallowed, but he had to get it out. “I love you.”

            “What?” Lance looked shocked.

“I love you.” Ash whispered, repeating himself.

            Please don’t break me…

I… I want to trust you, to love you, but please, don’t…

He didn’t get to finish his thought because that was when Lance kissed him. Hard. Ash gasped as he tripped on the grass and fell, with Lance on top of him.

“You’re so pretty…” Lance whispered hotly, as he kissed Ash harder, earning a mew, as Ash pressed against him.

            “I…”

Pika-chan decided now would be a good time to make a hasty exit, so she did.

            “Lance…”

            “Shh…”

Shadows hid them as they vanished upstairs to Lance’s room. < It wouldn’t do for a princess to see us. >

            Ash gulped.

If Lydia found out, she might demand his head. Sure, King Broom liked him, but he liked that spoiled brat of a youngest daughter better.

            A lot better…

            Grr…

As for the twins, they were too wrapped up in each other to care about anyone else, which could be a bad thing.

They’d better marry into the same family, or it would be hell…

That, however, did not really have anything to do with the current situation…

            “Lance!” Ash gasped.

“What?” The Dragon Master locked the door to his room, and then chanted a protection wall spell. “Do you no want this?”

            “No! That’s not it!”

“Oh?” Ash shut up as Lance kissed him again.

His fingers tangled in Lance’s red hair as clothes scattered over the floor before they reached the bed.

After that, everything was quite simple.

< How do we keep this a secret though? > Ash whispered. < This court has eyes and ears everywhere. >

< Hmm… > Lance frowned, then blue flashed in his eyes for a second. < I know. >

Ash watched as Lance placed his hands on the wall.

A circle began to glow underneath…

< I, Lance Dragyn, Chosen of the Moon and the Dragon, open the gates to the Dream Realm! >

            Then… they were there.

            It was their real home.

< We can confine all our affections to this world, and… remember, time here runs on our command? >

“Stretching time.” Ash nodded. “A minute there, could be a million years here.”

            “Exactly…”

Lance drew Ash towards him for another bruising kiss as the boy smiled contentedly. It was perfect, or as close as he would get.

            That was enough for him.

The portals to the old world locked shut, before rust destroyed the iron and nothing was left of a once-open gateway.

            Pity the world.

Maybe Princess Lydia deserved pity as well…

“I won’t marry you.” Ash said firmly, not an iota left of his tremulous self, days before. It was just so clear.

            She didn’t love him.

            She only wanted his power.

He would not give it to her for nothing. She didn’t deserve him. So simple…

            It was almost laughable.

            “WHAT?”

Oh, she was a loud, noisy girl; that was true…

            Worthless scum.

It did not matter. He would not bother with her any longer. She was just wasting his time.

            It made perfect sense!

She slapped him across the face, and that brought him back to reality. He stared in some surprise at the bruise blossoming on his face.

So… she wanted to play hardball? Very well.

Lance hadn’t taught him the Curse of Dragon’s Blood, and he didn’t have it in either case, but…

Then she tried to kiss him to make up for it. Perfect!
Lydia screamed as she was electrocuted.

< Bakayarou. Do not mess with the guardians. >

            He laughed.

His laughter swept like chilly wind over them, but he smiled, and everything was _fine_, because the snotty girl was gone.

            No, she had never existed.

He boosted his power of Amnesia Wave with Lance’s help and eliminated her form the time stream. Who needed her?

It was her fault. She brought disaster upon herself.

            And he smiled…

The world wasn’t perfect, but right now, it was good enough.
