Chapter 5 (This is kind of a bonus sequel peek-thing)

            “You’re so cruel, Lance.”
            “Mm?”

Red glared. “You knew what it would cost. Why did you give me the Sacred Sword? It’s not that I don’t like Destiny and the others, but that was cruel.”

            “It served tis purpose though.”

            “?”

“Look.” Lance pulled his shirt up. “I’m finally free of it…”

“Oh,” Red said in a small voice. “Right… I had to use it, didn’t I? Because I’m the Chosen One…”

            “Mm.”

            “You were still cruel…”

“Tis my nature, and I couldn’t help it.”

Red glared as he glomped onto Lance more tightly. “Mean.”

            “I suppose I am… shh…”

Footsteps. Worried footsteps, a glimpse of blonde hair…

            < It’s time. >

< I know. Time to playact. > Red kissed Lance briefly before he grinned. < The audience is in… >

< Let the opera begin… > Lance sent, before he vanished and a Dratini attacked…

            “Are you all right?”

Yellow stared in awe at the boy who had saved her. “Y-yes…”

“That’s good.” He smiled. “You know, maybe you need your own pokemon to protect yourself. Here.”

Yellow tossed the poke ball forwards, blinking. A pikachu?

A Rattata ran by, and pikachu eagerly fried it. A poke ball later, Yellow was in possession of a Rattata…

However, just then, Golem and Weezing appeared out of the forest, and they escaped via Aerodactyl, and the incident was forgotten…

            “Red?”

Green stood before the door, wondering if Red were home. Ever since he had won the Kanto Championships two months ago, he had gotten challenge after challenge… he froze as he heard voices.

            “What happened?”

“I wasn’t paying attention when I was out training, and Aeroy got me with Hyper Beam. How careless… ow!”

“You’re always careless! Now hold still – I’ll get the disinfectant.”

            “Mou, you’re so mean!”

“I’m not mean. Now hold still!”

            “But it hurts…”

“What do you want me to do? Kiss it and make it better?” The voice sounded quite annoyed.

            “Yes please.”

Green choked. Who was that in there with Red? Blue? Perhaps…

He’d better give them their privacy then… he hastily left the door, almost running. Too much information…

            “Ow…”

Lance put his hands on his hips. “I can’t regenerate new tissue and bone, I hope you know that, no matter how good my Viridian Power is!”

Red winced, touching the jagged crescent scar that bloomed across his stomach.

“We’ll just have to wait for it to heal normally. Why won’t you go see the doctor?”

Red colored. “Last time I did, the nurse tried to feel me up.”

“So you’re relying on my unorthodox methods of healing?”

            “Yep.”

“All right, but don’t complain. This will hurt.”

            “OW!”

            “I warned you…”

Pre-Cerise, 1 month…

            “Will this hurt?”

“Only a little bit.” Agatha reassured him. Red gulped.

“Shall we send out Pikachu again?”

“No.” Lorelei shook her head. “Lance might wind up… damaged again. We wouldn’t want that to happen to our dear Dragon Master.”

            “Thank you, dear cousin.”

“I suppose it can’t hurt. It’s happened several times before.” Red took a gulp of air to be brave, checked his belt. All six of the poke balls were there. “I’m ready.”

            Lorelei’s Jynx nodded…

            “Red’s missing?”

“I haven’t heard from him for three months, but it’s not that unusual…”

“He hasn’t contacted us either.” Misty spoke.

            “Hmm…”

            < Shall we begin? >

< Here. > Red handed Lance the earth badge. The Dragon Master gave him a smile, as the eight around the island began to glow…

            < I love you. >

            < I know you do. >

            < And we’re free at last… >

            Silence.

End Fic here…
