Chapter 3 The two were walking slowly, side by side. A question then popped into Daniel's head. “Hey, Ann, what other attacks can I use?” he asked. “Well,” she she started explaining. “I'm not an expert, but I know you can use attacks like shock wave and quick attack.” Daniel pondered over this. “Maybe I can learn to use attacks like that,” he thought to himself, reminding himself of those spearow who had attacked earlier. He looked at Ann. He wanted to make sure nothing happened to her. They soon reached a clearing where many pokemon were. The pokemon didn't even bother to look up. That is, except for one. One pokemon had noticed them. He seemed shallow, leaning against a tree, minding his own business, a twig in his mouth. Daniel noticed him the second they stepped into that place. Daniel walked up to him. “Hi there!” he exclaimed, trying to be friendly. He pokemon looked up. He was a treecko with an attitude. Daniel could tell just by looking at it. “My name's Daniel,” he said, trying to be polite. “Whats your name?” The treecko looked at him and said, “I'm Sawyer.” Ann walked over towards them. “And I'm Ann,” she introduced. Sawyer showed a bit of interest in the two. “Hmph. Young love. Reminds me of Angel...” he thought. Angel...that name was enough to bring tears to his eyes. He had become a bit hard after his love's accidental death. He could picture that day... she had fallen out of a very tall tree they had decided to climb to get away. He had tried to save her, but no one could help her... no... he could let these kids see him cry. “Um, is everything okay?” Ann asked. Sawyer looked up, not realizing he had drifted away. “Yeah, I'm fine,” he answered. Daniel got a good look at this guy. He seemed about twenty-five if he were human. He also seemed to have some sort of secret. One word that Daniel could use to describe him was shady. He then decided to ask, “hey, do you want to go explore with us?” Sawyer just looked at him. “I don't see why not,” he just said plainly. Ann and Daniel smiled. The three pokemon then set off into the forest, having no idea what laid ahead of them. “So, he doesn't remember me,” Sawyer was thinking. They walked through the forest a long way before Sawyer asked, “How did you two meet?” Ann then explained that she had found Daniel in the wood a day ago. “So, she found him...” Sawyer thought. It reminded him of how he had met Angel. He had been hurt after he had battled. He had been about to pass out when a friendly chikorita saved him with Aromatherapy. When he had awoken, he fell in love with her. She had introduced herself as Angel. “Hey, Sawyer, you sure your okay?” Daniel asked. Sawyer then realized that he had fallen behind. He answered, “yeah, I'm okay.” As they kept on walking, Daniel grew concerned about Sawyer. “I wonder whats wrong?” he thought to himself. Eventually, night fell on the forest as they approached Ann's special place. The three gazed at those lights that were so far away. They were tiny to their eyes. “Wow!” Ann explained. “Their so pretty!” Daniel wanted to answer “just like your eyes,” but he didn't want to embarrass himself. The three continued to gaze until Ann spoke up. “Um, I know you guys are enjoying the view, but its getting late. I'm going to bed.” “Alright. Goodnight,” Daniel told her before she smiled and walked to her tree. The two, however, continued to gaze. “Daniel?” Sawyer interrupted. “Hm?” Daniel replied. “You seem close to Ann,” he implied. Daniel blushed. “Don't worry. I can keep a secret,” Sawyer assured him. “What I wanted to say was...your lucky.” Daniel looked at him. “How am I lucky?” “Well,” Sawyer answered. “Your lucky to have love.” Daniel blinked. Lucky to have love? “You've been asking me whats wrong along with Ann,” he started. “The truth is, you two remind me of someone I once loved.” Daniel stared in disbelief. He seemed like someone no one could love... “Yeah, I was in love once. Her name was Angel, and boy, was she one. She saved my life once even.” Daniel was surprised. “What kind of pokemon was she?” “She was a chikorita,” Sawyer answered as a tear fell. “What happened?” Daniel asked. “We were climbing a tree together. You know, to get away. It was the worst mistake of my life. She lost her grip and fell. She didn't survive the fall,” Sawyer explained, tears running down his face. Daniel put a hand on his shoulder. “Its going to be okay, Sawyer.” Sawyer looked up. “Thanks man.” He then got up and started walking home. “Hey, Sawyer.” he looked at Daniel. “I'll see you tomorrow right?” Daniel asked. “Yeah, Daniel,” Sawyer told him. “Just, please, don't tell Ann about this okay?” Daniel did a thumbs up. “You can count on me.” Sawyer then smiled, and walked home. Later that night, Daniel added a new spot to the map entitled,'Sawyer's tree.' He knew that he had made a new friend. Sorry if this chapter seemed short! By the way, Sawyer and Daniel aren't going to be together. I don't write about gay couples. It write about how it should be. Please don't argue through reviews. :) Sheimi
