Chapter 4 The next day, Ann showed up at Daniel's tree before he woke up. She sat there and waited for him to wake up. She wanted to tell him how she felt about him. She was concerned, however, about him finding out about her secret, which she wanted to tell him. But she couldn't. A voice echoed in her head, saying, “tell anyone, and they won't be seen again.” “No, he can't find out,” she told herself. “Daniel can't die.” Just the thought almost brought tears to her eyes. As she wiped them away, she sat at the foot of his tree. She waited for an hour before he woke up. The two then made their way towards the apple tree. “You know, this apple tree is the only one in Legend Forest, right?” she asked, breaking the silence between them. “Really?” Daniel answered, half listening. He had been thinking about Sawyer. Apparently Sawyer trusted him to tell how he had once loved and asked him not to tell Ann. Sawyer must not trust Ann to not tell her. Should he trust her? She seems nice... When they arrived, lots of pokemon were there. Daniel had never seen so many pokemon in one place before. There were a lot of grass types, but there were some water, electric, flying, and even fire type pokemon present. Among them was Sawyer, Daniel's new friend, who they ate with. “So, what can we do today?” Daniel asked. Sawyer started to think, but Ann suddenly looked upset. “Ann, you okay?” Daniel asked. “Yeah,” she replied gloomily. She was remembering the last time she had ever heard someone say that. “So, what can we do today? Should we set the forest on fire, or rid it of its food supply?” Poor Ann wished that she didn't remember his awful face, the one that everyone feared. The one Daniel didn't know about... Daniel took a look at her. “Sawyer, can Ann and I be alone for a second?” he asked. “Sure,” Sawyer nodded with a wink before walking away, leaving the two alone. “Ann, whats wrong?” Daniel asked. “Oh, its nothing,” Ann answered, wiping away her sad look with a smile. “No, somethings up,” he implied. Ann looked up at him before admitting, “It... its best that you don't know.” Daniel looked at her. “What is it that she doesn't want to tell me? Is she like Sawyer, and hasn't come out of the past? No, she wasn't like this before...” he thought. “Its fine if you don't want to tell me. But, if you ever need someone to talk to, just come to me,” Daniel assured her. With tears in her eyes at his kindness, all she could say was, “thanks.” She hugged him. This surprised Daniel, but he hugged back. Sawyer looked on at a distance before saying, “he did good.” Meanwhile, someone was watching them. “I told her not to become close to anyone!” an angry voice yelled. “D... don't be mad at her. She can't help it, she a girl,” a little, yet noticeable, voice replied. “Silence!” the voice replied. “I will make her pay...” Sawyer, meanwhile, joined Ann and Daniel. Ann, after talking, seemed much happier, talking eagerly to the boys. “Its amazing what sort of effect takes place when you talk to a girl,” Daniel thought to himself. After breakfast, the three started walking through the forest, happy to be with each other. Suddenly, Ann tripped over something. She looked to see what she had tripped to find a beautiful stone. It was an amazing stone, shaped like a flower. The amazing thing about it though was the fact that you could see through it. Inside was a beautiful rainbow of colors that seemed to float inside. The only flaw that it had was that it had a small hole in it. Daniel then had an idea. “Hey, Ann, why don't we make a necklace out of this?” he asked. She smiled at the thought. They gathered weak stems and grass and make a chain for it, and put it around Ann's neck. It was just the right size. She beamed. It then suddenly started glowing! Daniel and Sawyer looked in amazement as Ann suddenly looked like a leafeon! Ann gasped in shock. “Did I...” she began before she glowed again and was replaced with a jolteon. “Wait, whats happening?” she asked before she said, “I want to be an eevee again!” she suddenly started to glow again and a little brown figure appeared before the two. Ann was herself again. “What was that?!” Ann cried. “I wish I knew,” Sawyer replied. Daniel thought for a moment before asking, “do you want to evolve into leafeon or jolteon?” Ann looked at him. “Well, I was thinking that if I ever do, then I would want to be them.” Daniel then realized, “hey, you know what? I bet that rock around your neck allows you to become any pokemon you want to become, yet you can turn back!” “Yeah, that make sense, sort of.” Sawyer responded. “This may come in handy in the future,” Ann said. “Hey, I wonder if it works on you two!” she suddenly said. She put it around Daniel's neck. “Okay, do you want to become raichu someday?” she asked. “If I need to, then yeah, I suppose.” he answered. They waited, but there was no response. “Hm, it doesn't work on me,” Daniel said. “Well, then, let me try,” Sawyer said, taking the necklace off Daniel. He slipped it on and waited. Nothing happened. “It must only work on you, Ann,” Daniel said, taking the necklace from Sawyer. He gave it to Ann. She put it around her neck. “I guess it only works if I want to change,” she said, noting that she hadn't changed. The three then decided to keep walking. Ann then started thinking about the sparrow attack the other day. She knew why they had attacked them. Her 'boss' had sent them, because he had been mad at her for making friends and starting to rebel against him. She thought Daniel was very brave to fight against them and protect her. However, she wanted to know what his mission was... She wanted to know her 'master's' purpose... Aren't you curious now?! Hope you enjoyed it! :) Sheimi
