Chapter three It all seemed so real... Hiko, Twitter, and I were in an unrecognizable battle arena and we were up against champions. The battle was me versus a man I'd never seen before with his machamp and sceptile. I was commanding Hiko and Twitter to use attacks I had never heard of, attacks like 'flame wheel' and 'brave bird.' They did really good against his pokemon, and we were winning. But then the opponent attacked. I, with no control, told them to dodge. Hiko jumped high into the air, while Twitter flew away gracefully. I tried to gain control of myself, but was to no avail... Never the less, I was having fun beating up people I had never seen before. Everything was going wonderful, that is, until everything around me went black! “Hiko! Twitter!” I called helplessly, but they never appeared. Instead, a man with blue spiky hair appeared, holding a yellow orb in his right hand. Just looking at him brought fear to my heart. His glaring gray eyes could strike fear in anyone's heart and mind. He raised that mysterious ball to the sky, giving off a dark aura in which I was able to see. It reveled Lucas on the ground, unconscious, bleeding, dying... Roy was there too, but he was hurt. He was also bleeding, but was awake, trying to care for Lucas. He suddenly fell to the floor, his eyes closed... “No! Roy! Lucas!” I sceamed, trying to run to them. But as I ran, they went farther and farther away, until I couldn't see them anymore. I shot a terrible glance at that man. “What did you do to them!?” I cried, but he ignored me completely, almost like I was silent. The orb then glowed brighter, and a horrible, large creature appeared before me. “Now, giratina!” that man ordered. It gave a loud screech and flew towards me. I screamed, but it was drowned in darkness... I just floated in that black aura, with no will to move. But then I saw something...light... three little lights lit the way out of that awful place. One was pink, the second blue, and the last yellow. They carried me out. “Remember this,” the pink one ordered. “ You'll see us and need us again someday.” I was again in light, and my eyes shut against their own will...but then I heard a voice. “Holly! Holly wake up!” It was Lucas, calling me... I opened my eyes to see him and the pokemon surrounding me, all of them looking greatly concerned. “You alright?” Lucas asked, looking worried sick. I nodded. “I guess I was dreaming.” “Well, it must've been a nightmare then!” he exclaimed quickly. “You were crying, screaming, you even almost ran out of your sleeping bag into town!” I felt flushed. “I did all that?” I asked, pretty sure I was blushing furiously. He nodded. “What were you dreaming about?” I wasn't sure what to say, so much had happened. I then tried to explain my dream, leaving out the part of me seeing him and Roy almost, well, dying... when I finished, he scratched his chin saying, “you know, it might actually mean something... I'm no expert on dreams and things, but those lights might be real from what they said...” I shook my head. “I don't know what to think, but it seemed so real! It was kind of scary too...” He frowned. Aw, I hated to see him frown. I loved to see him smile... “You don't believe me.” I snapped out of my thoughts to see him seem a bit sad. “No, its not that I don't believe you,” I told him, trying to cheer him up. “I'm just not sure if its something else.” He remained silent. I looked down, a bit ashamed of what I had said. Lucas then looked up. “By the way, for a minute or two, you were screaming both mine and Roy's names. Why?” I felt my face flush again. A hoothoot howled a distance away, making a perfect change of subject. “By the way, what time is it?” I asked. Lucas glanced down at his watch. “Its five 'till one,” he answered before looking up again. “Your just avoiding my question.” My face continued to stay its red color. I had to say something... “Um, if I tell you, you can't freak, okay?” He nodded suspiciously, raising an eyebrow. I then blurted out, “I saw you and Roy almost dead!” I covered my mouth as Lucas looked shocked, but then shook his head, trying to get over what he had just heard. “Do you know what had happened?” I shook my head. “I tried asking, but that man acted like I was deaf!” He sighed, then looked over at me. “Don't worry about me. Nothing's going to happen to me, or Roy, that I know of.” I gave him a tiny smile. “Thanks.” Lucas smiled back at me, and went back to bed, with turtwig sleeping next to him. I also snuggled back into my sleeping back, with Hiko and Twitter by my side, but sleep didn't find its way to me. I had too many things on my mind at that moment. I wondered if Lucas was the same way... I sighed contently, the cool breeze blowing. We were camping outside Sandgem under the stars, the breeze constantly whispering to me a lullaby. I had apparently fallen asleep earlier before for everyone else to be awake while I wasn't. I glanced over at Lucas, who had already fallen into a deep slumber. He didn't seem to have a care in the world that we were always at risk, being two teens wandering everywhere, catching monsters, unprotected from kidnappers and thieves. I wished I could be carefree, like him. I bet he wished the opposite. It was then we heard a rustle in the bushes... Lucas instantly got up, grabbed a flashlight, and shone it in the direction of the sound, getting in front of the five of us (if you count himself and the pokemon). “Who's there?” he asked, trying to sound brave. “Show yourself!” Yeah, the nightmare is why I thought I needed to change the rating... I don't think there'll be any other reasons :) Sheimi
