Disclaimer: I don't own pokemon, nor Lugia's song, but that would be so cool! However, the characters and song lyrics are mine, so don't steal! Chapter 1 No One's POV Storms roared across earth with tsunamis and lightning. Earthquakes rumbled on fault lines with large gaps coming on the surface. Volcano's erupted on the islands and in the oceans, covering everything in its path with burning lava. The sun was roaring, drying up oceans and burning life and objects alike. But then, there was silence. Everything suddenly stopped. There was mourning and sobbing in the air from the survivors, joining the mightyena* in their song to the moon. Those survivor's cries were heard by none. They were scattered across the earth as if they were trying to be far away from each other. Very few people lived in the same country as another, and almost none of them knew what had happened, or if anyone else had survived. Only one family of three stayed alive together, and only one knew of other survivors. Little did they know, that something else was going to reveal itself, and what it had done... ??? POV “Wha... where am...I?” That was all I could utter in the darkness. I felt alone and insecure. I couldn't hear anything, nor could I feel anything close by. In fact, I couldn't see anything either. I tried opening my eyes, thinking they were closed, but they were open. I tried placing my hand in front of my face to try and see it, but I was to no avail. I couldn't see. It wasn't like it was blurry or anything, but it was like it wasn't there. All I saw was darkness. I wanted to cry for being without light, but I tried to be strong. I didn't know if anyone was watching me. I didn't want to scare anyone with my sudden outburst. I then noticed footsteps coming towards me. I hadn't lost my hearing luckily. I turned to, once again, see nothing. However, I heard a voice. “Its alright, young one.” It was a cool, yet strange voice that had spoken those words. I wasn't sure weather or not I should have ran in the opposite direction, so I stayed put, keeping my lips sealed. Who was that? And where the heck was I? “I hear your thoughts.” It started explaining, “you and a select few were spared from the disasters that almost rid earth of life.” I stood there, shocked. “I, was spared?” “Yes.” “But, why me? And why can't I see?” “...I don't know why you were spared.” I felt something on my shoulder that was rough, yet fuzzy. A paw perhaps? It continued, “you kept your life, but, I'm sorry. You saved not your sight. You will see nothing the rest of your life, Trace.” “You mean, I... I'm blind?” “Yes.” I felt a little lightheaded. I was blind... destined to not see again. But wait... “How do you know my name?” “...that I cannot tell, but you will know in time...” I felt it move further away... “Wait! Don't go!” I tried running, but I felt myself hit something really hard... “Ow...” I moaned, rubbing my head. I opened my eyes. I was still in darkness. “James! Trace is awake!” my mother... I heard her sweet voice calling my dad. Oh I wished I could see her again... “Trace, you okay dear?” I heard her say. “Mom? Where are you?” “I'm right beside you. Can't you see me?” “No...” “Son, you okay?” I heard dad's voice this time at my left. “Yeah, but... where are we?” “We're in the backyard. Something happened to the house and well, it caved in.” “The back?” “Yes, can't you tell?” “Well, no... I can't tell anything...” “What, are you blind?” “Uh, actually, I think so...” I wish I didn't say that last sentence. I heard mom cry. “Mom, its okay.” “But sweetie! You can't see!” “I know. I'll get by it.” “Thats my boy! Always strong!” I felt dad punch my shoulder playfully. It didn't really hurt because I'd gotten used to it. “Where is everyone?” I asked. “I don't know. Everyone's just gone,” he answered. “Gone? What do you mean gone?” “I mean, I can't find anyone. We're alone.” I pondered over this. If we're alone, then... “Everyone's dead?” I asked. There was silence for a second, I think he forgot I couldn't see so he couldn't nod, but I heard him say, “I'm afraid so.” My ears suddenly picked up a sound. A screech perhaps? “You hear that?” I asked. “Hear what?” dad asked, confusion in his voice. “That noise. Don't you hear it?” “No. Must be that your senses are sharper due to you losing one.” The sound then suddenly grew louder, and closer. “Um, dear?” I heard mom say nervously. “What exactly is that?” I felt something come down to the ground. It came with a heavy thud. I felt my parents grasping me in desperation. “Whats happening?” I asked. I didn't get an answer. This story originally had Alice turn into monsters such as unicorns, dinosaurs, and phoenixes, and the same kind of things were attacking them, but I changed that into pokemon so I can put it up on The Pokemon Tower. Author Note 2: Alice is not from Twilight. I've never read it before, so I wouldn't know how to put her here anyway By the way, *means that this pokemon was a different creature in the original. In this case, it was a wolf instead of mightyena. Hope everyone enjoyed! I love getting reviews by the way! It tells me your reading! Oh yeah, I wasn't saying that Trace's dad is abusive. He just likes to playfully give him an occasional light punch. :) Sheimi
