Chapter 3:Beginning of the Journey

As soon as I woke up, Charmander was on my bed staring at me and 
whispered,"Donut...". I knew by the look on his face, that was the only thing 
he dreamed about. After getting dressed we went to the vending machine to get 
Charmander a pack of donuts. After getting Charmander his donuts, I went 
downstairs to meet the rest of the group for breakfast . As soon as I got to 
the lobby, I saw Kristy and Skitty sharing a pack of poptarts and Gavin and 
Turtwig sharing a plate of bacon and eggs. Charmander went with Turtwig and 
Skitty so they could talk about their new trainers, while I talked to the 
rest of the group. "How did you guys sleep last night?". Both replied with a 
positive response. After breakfast we started traveling down the path, when 
we saw on of the kids who was at the starter pokemon ceremony. "Hey" she said 
to us. "I challenge you to a battlee"she said her finger pointing at me. I 
tried to get out of it, but since she really patient I had to accept. 
"Go,Torchic!" she yelled throwing the red and white ball. "Go, Charmander!" I 
said as I threw the poke ball. Out of her pokeball came a little orange chick 
pokemon. I took out my pokedex to see the data on it. "Torchic, a fire type 
pokemon. A starter pokemon originally handed out by professor Birch. When in 
battle, it loves spewing flames at the enemy." said the pokedex in a 
mechanical voice. "Charmander, use scratch!". Charmander zoomed to Torchic 
with its claws extended, slashed Torchic on it's stomach. You could see tiny 
drops of blood fall from the torchic's stomach. This made Torchic angry and 
it used focus energy. Charmander continued his scratch frenzy but Torchic 
opened it's mouth. Charmander looked at me with a look on his face that said 
"Why?". When he realized it, it was too late. Torchic began shooting embers 
like crazy. Charmander was hit by a couple embers, but overall he was fine. " 
C'mon Charmander!Finish it up!" I yelled. Charmander's eyes, burning with 
determination, opened his own mouth, and let his own flames seep out. After a 
couple more ember, Torchic fell to the ground unconscious. When I looked at 
my pokenav, I had receiver 1000 poke for winning. The girl recalled her 
Torchic, and ran to the city to heal it. We began to start down the road 
again. I opened my pokedex to see what level my Charmander was. The pokedex 
read "Lv. 7". Randomly a message appeared on the screen. It read 
"Congratulations, your pokemon egg is hatching" Gavin and Kristy who caught 
the message at the corner of their eye stopped so I could take the egg out of 
my backpack. As soon as I took it out the egg was already cracked. Out came a 
blue doglike head with a black mask and red eyes. It looked at me and said 
"Daddy!". Obviously since im the first guy he's seen, he thinks I'm his 
father.He looks around and sees Kristy. "Mommy!". Obviously, I could tell 
Kristy and I are going to have to be together for a while before Riolu can 
understand were not his actual parents. So I just smiled and let Riolu ride 
on top of my head. We could see the next city on the horizon...
