Chapter 6:Ultimate Defeat

We started down the road again, same as always. On the horizon I could see 
the upcoming town. Gavin started battling random pokemon, and Kristy and I 
began talking  about whatever. "I have one question. Do you have a girl 
friend?". I almost choked on my spit.  "No,why?". "Just wondering.". Although 
I had about a million questions that revolved around my crush on her, we 
already stood at the town entrance. We walked through the town until coming 
to Black Leaf Forest, named after the legend about a murderous pokemon who 
would claim peoples lives in the forest. I walked in looking around 
carefully. "Its okay, just a forest." You then saw Kristy and Gavin walk into 
the forest, right beside me. We then continued deeper, deeper, and deeper. 
Then there was a rustle amidst the forest, I looked frantically for the 
cause. Out came a reptilian like mantis with blades for arms. Scyther said 
the thoughts in my head. I drew a pokeball quickly. "Go Charmeleon!". Out 
came Charmeleon in a fury of white light, who waited for no commands, and 
spewed embers towards the Scyther. Scyther disappears into thin air. Then 
hits Charmeleon with the blunt part of his blade. Charmeleon groans from 
agony, but the great lizard regains focus and slashes Scyther with a metal 
claw, which makes the Scyther start to bleed. The Scyther raises his blade, 
but he doesn't go for Charmeleon, instead he heads toward me. His sharp 
blades fall , and cuts me across thee chest. Blood flies everywhere and the 
pain is unbearable. I almost faint, but I knew I had to finish the battle. 
"Charmeleon...*huff, puff*...use *cough* ember...". I then realized 
Charmeleon was inside his pokeball knowing that the fight was lost. The 
Scyther walks toward me, and taps my pokeball. He then becomes the usual 
energy and disappears into the ball. Gavin comes over to me, and picks me up. 
Kristy couldn't stop staring at my gash. I may have caught the winner, but I 
felt like a loser. I get hurt in a simple pokemon battle. I can't even tell a 
girl that I love them. I couldn't help but think how weak I was. "Are you 
okay?". I looked up to see a scared teary eyed Kristy. I nodded. "Kristy I 
have something to tell you". "Yeah?"
"I love you."
