A VACATION FOR LURVE

~Hi everyone. Ok this is my first fic and I hope you like it. As always when you read these, I don’t own Ash and co.~

Ash- 15
Misty- 16
Tracey- 17

Narrator: Today, we find our heroes traveling the Orange Islands in search of the fourth and final badge Ash needs to get into the Orange League.

Ash, Pikachu, Misty, Togepi and Tracey are sitting on Lapras enjoying the ride.

Tracey: It’s such a nice day.

Ash: You can say that again!

Togepi: Togi pri!

PiKachu: (happily) Pika!

Ash: Hey, Tracey, I was wandering. How many more badges do I need to get into the Orange League?

Tracey: You only need one more and then you’ll be in.

Ash: Cool! We’re ganna beat everyone aren’t we Pikachu!

Pikachu: (confidently) PI!

Tracey gets those squinty eyes as he smiles at Ash and his best friend Pikachu. Misty isn’t listening to the conversation behind her as she is in deep thought.

Misty: (thinking to herself) It’s only been a week or so since the incident with Rudey. I’m starting to think whether it was a mistake staying with Ash. I know he needs my help sometimes and as a friend, I can’t let him down but, is that the only reason why I stayed with him?

A week ago, Ash challenged the Trovita Gym Leader for a badge. To all their surprise, the Gym Leader was actually a boy of Misty’s age. Unknowingly to Ash and Tracey, Misty and Rudey spent a lot of time together. Rudey always knew what to say to Misty to make her go weak at the knees. Rudey also had a little sister called Murry. Murry had always wanted an older sister and when she told this to Misty, Rudey got an idea and asked Misty to stay with them. It was a simple choice whether to stay with Rudey and Murry and live a peaceful relaxing life or to stay with Ash. But as we all know, for Misty, this was no simple choice. To her, it was either Ash or Rudey. In the end, Misty chose Ash (obviously!). Ash won the battle with Rudey by a lot of encouragement from Misty but, he was totally confused when Rudey told him he was a very lucky guy.

Misty: ( Still to herself) Ash never found out what had happened between me and Rudey. And I think it’s better off that way too. (sighs those little white clouds)

Ash: Hey, you’ve been really quite Misty. Anything wrong?

Misty: (coldly/shouting) LIKE YOU CARE!

Tracey: GHEEZ Misty! Take it easy!

Misty: Sorry. (pause) I guess the heat is getting to me.

Togepi: Togi?

Ash: Hey look! An island!

Everyone turns away from Misty to see what Ash is talking about.

Tracey: I think that’s Turban Island.

Ash: Turban Island?

Tracey: Yeah. It’s famous for a luxury resort called Rest Ashore.

Ash: A resort huh? Well why don’t we catch a break and head over to that island straight away!

Tracey/Pikachu: Great/ Pika!

Misty was still silent as Ash gave the command to Lapras to head for the Island as quick as possible.
When they got off Lapras, Ash returned the blue pokemon back to it’s pokeball. Tracey grabbed Ash by the arm and pulled him to the side away from Misty, Pikachu and Togepi.

Ash: HEY! What do you think your….

Ash’s mouth was covered by Tracey’s hand

Tracey: SSSSHHHHH! I don’t want Misty to hear us!

Ash manage to get out of Tracey’s grasp and turned round to face his friend.

Ash: Wot’s up?

Tracey: Misty! Haven’t you noticed she’s been really quiet since we left Trovita Island?

Ash: Well, (puts a finger up to his chin), come to think of it, she hasn’t said anything the whole journey here.

Tracey: Isn’t that kind of unusual for her?

Ash: Yeah, it is. Normally, she can’t keep her big mouth shut!

Tracey: (quietly) Ash, Misty isn’t around so you can’t get any physical contact from her.

Ash: Huh?

Tracey: Nevermind. It’s just a bit weird though. I think something went on between her and Rudey.

Ash: Rudey? Oh yeah! I think your right, Trace. I wander what happened?

Misty: (shouting) ARE WE JUST GANNA STAND HERE ALL DAY!

Ash: (to Tracey, quietly so Misty wouldn’t hear) I think she got a lot grumpier too!

Misty came up behind Ash and pulled his mouth with her finger.

Misty: WHAT was that?

Ash: (Misty still holding onto his mouth) NOTHING!

Misty let go of Ash and Ash fell to the ground.

Pikachu: (depressingly) Pika chu.

Tracey: Come on guys, I wanna check out this resort.

Misty: We’re going to a resort?

Ash: (getting up) Yeah, didn’t hear us when we were on Lapras?

Misty: Hhhmmm, I guess not! (putting a hand behind her back)

The group started to walk into town. The path was very wide and so, they could each walk side by side. Ash was in the middle and to his right was Misty and his left Tracey. All the way, Ash turned his head to the right occasionally to see Misty looking at the floor. He somehow felt guilty and thought that he might have done something to upset her. One thought lead to another and soon Ash was thinking what Tracey had said plus some others as well.

Ash: (thinking) I can’t help but feel guilty. Maybe I did something to upset her. I have to try and be a little bit nicer to her. She’s my friend, she would do the same for me right? What did Tracey mean earlier? Did Misty and Rudey……. No! That’s not like Misty at all! But, something was definitely buggin’ her earlier. Why am I thinking about Misty? Because she’s my friend. Or is she more than that. ARHH! I don’t know what I’m feeling right now. Wait, yes I do know how I feel! I feel…… Hungry! I hope I get to eat soon. Lessee, I’ll have a sundae with Chocolate and……….

Tracey was thinking of Misty too.

Tracey: (thinking) I hope we can get some time off. I might be able to talk to Misty then. It’s weird. All the time I’ve spent with Ash and Misty made me think that they really like each other. But now, after seeing Rudey, I think she may have gone off Ash. Ugh-oh! Bad Luck Ash!

Misty: Hey look at that thing!

Ash and Tracey were brought out of there thoughts and looked up to where Misty was pointing. A big dome was peaking through the tree tops. The sun shone on it giving a bright reflection of the sky.

Tracey: That’s it! That’s Resort Rest Ashore!

???: You got that right, Kid!

They looked to were the voice came from and saw a man dressed in a blue suit standing next to a sign saying ‘Resort Rest Ashore’.

Ash: Who are you?

Man: I’m a guy who works in this fine place here. Are you thinking of staying for a Vacation m’lad?

Tracey/Misty/Togepi/Pikachu: (everyone with starry eyes) Of course!, we’d LOVE too!/ Togi prrriiii/ PIKACHU!

Ash: I don’t know you guys, I’ve still got to get my last badge for the Orange League.

Tracey: Oh come on Ash. You could do with a break from all this traveling and so could we. It can’t be that much to stay here for a week or so.

Ash: But I…

Misty: ( interrupting Ash) I NEED A VACATION!

Ash: (backing off from Misty) Wo! Gheez you are cranky today.

Misty: (with evil eyes) WHY YOU…

Tracey: (running in-between Misty who was about to charge at Ash) QUIT IT MISTY!

Misty: LET ME AT HIM!

The man in the blue suit and Ash both sweatdropped. Once again, Misty was acting her normal shouting self.

Ash: OK OK! We’ll have a vacation.

Misty cooled off quickly and started jumping in the air. You could tell she was happy because of the enormous grin across her face.

Misty: (jumping up and down) YEAH!

As soon as Misty said that, she ran off to the entrance of the resort and stepped inside before Ash and Tracey had time to say goodbye to the man and apologize for Misty’s reactions.

Ash/Tracey: HEY MISTY! WAIT FOR US!

Ash and Tracey along with Pikachu and Togepi ran after Misty and stepped inside the Resort. (Yes Misty left Togepi behind). They looked from left to right trying to find Misty, but there was no sign of her.

Tracey: Misty! HEY MISTY!

Ash: MISTY! MIISSTTYYY! Tracey I can’t see her anywhere!

Tracey: OH NO! Look up there!

Tracey pointed up to a waterfall at least 20ft high. At the top, was a girl with light red hair almost orange, a yellow top and denim hot pants. Below, were at least 50 people, some police officers, shouting to the girl, even screaming. Each person trying to get as close as they could to the plunge pool created by the artifital waterfall. Everyone then gasped as they saw the girl spread her arms out and turn around.

Ash: It’s Misty! What’s she doing up there!

Tracey: SHE’S GUNNA JUMP!

Narrator: What’s Misty doing up there on top of the waterfall? Is she going to jump to a plunging death? Guess you’ll just have to find out, in part 2 of A Vacation For Lurve!
