Tracey/Corrie- 17

Narrator: Last time, we joined Ash and Misty for quiet dinner together. Misty explained about how her parents got divorced and how her and Dylan got together. Then, things started to heat up between the two, but Ash retreated to the men’s room to figure out his true feelings for Misty. As he was returning to the table, he saw Dylan sitting in his place, holding hands with his new found love.

Ash stood in the middle of the Blue Oceans Restaurant starring at Dylan and Misty. His sickness started to return again, as he couldn’t bear to see it anymore. He turned to walk out of the restaurant but something stopped him. A hand, on his arm, twisted him around.

Jen: Ash, you’ve gone as white as a sheet. What’s wrong?

Ash couldn’t gather his balance and so sat down on an empty chair. A table was in front of him and soon he realized which table he was on. Directly opposite him sat Tracey, mumbling something to Corrie. On the other side of him was Brad talking to Rachel, making her laugh. Ash came back to reality and focused on the hand, now resting on his shoulder.

Ash: Yeah, Jen. I’m… (Looked back at Misty)… I’m… fine.

Jen: Well you definitely don’t look it.

Jen sat down on the empty seat next to Ash, previously Dylan’s chair. Ash took his eyes off the floor and focused on the green eyes next to him.

Ash: I better get back to my table or my foods’ gunna get cold.

Jen: (smiling) You don’t need a hand getting over there do you?

Ash: (smiling back) No thanks. I’ll be fine.

Jen: Just make sure you don’t faint, OK?

Ash got up and left the table and headed towards Misty and Dylan. He saw Misty laughing and immediately decided to leave the restaurant, not able to think of a word to say when he confronted them. But his feet didn’t stop walking in their direction. Misty glanced his way and quickly snatched her hand away from Dylan’s grasp.

Ash: (to Dylan) I err… believe you’re in my seat.

Dylan: Does it have your name on it?

With that remark, Misty flung up her arm and stretched it across the table, hitting Dylan.

Dylan: Ow! (To Misty) What was that for?

Misty: (playfully) Go on. Get up and go back to your own table.

Ash smiled to himself as Dylan reluctantly got up and retreated back to his table. Ash sat down and crossed his arms, waiting for an explanation from Misty, but didn’t get one.

Ash: (moody) You sure know how to let a guy think you’re with the wrong person.

Misty: (apologetically) Ash, it wasn’t my fault…he just…

Ash: (raising his voice) If you wanted to have dinner with him, why did you ask me?

Misty: Ash Ketchum, (playful) are you… jealous?

Ash had dropped his guard letting his feelings escape slightly. He quickly tried to think of some answer to cover up his mistake and couldn’t help blushing.

Ash: (thinking) Of course I’m jealous! (Lying / out loud) Are you CRAZY!?! ME! JEALOUS! HA! Don’t make me laugh! Why would I be jealous about a scrawny thing like YOU!

Misty: (annoyed) OH! That’s rich coming from a good for nothing BIKE WRECKER!

Ash: When are you going to get over that stupid bike?!

Misty: (agitated) For YOUR information, if YOU hadn’t wrecked MY bike in the first place I wouldn’t be sitting here having dinner with the likes of YOU!

Ash was completely frustrated and couldn’t stand to keep his cool anymore. What was he thinking about having any sort of feelings towards Misty? Now he was going tell her just how he really felt.

Ash: (outraged/ standing up and slamming hands down onto table) YOU ARE SO UNBELIEVABLE! I WISH I HAD NEVER MET YOU MISTY! I WISH YOU WOULD JUST STOP FOLLOWING ME AROUND AND LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

Ash was immediately surprised by his words and guilt swept over his body. He looked at Misty expecting a hurtful reaction back then he noticed something. Was that a tear in her eye?

Misty: (outraged/trying hard to hold back tears) FINE! IF THAT’S HOW YOU FEEL, I’LL LEAVE! FOR GOOD!

Misty quickly gathered herself up and ran out of the restaurant, leaving her plate full and Ash alone. Heads turned and every pair of eyes there gunned Ash down, pinning him to his seat. Dylan rose from where he was sitting and walked out of the restaurant after Misty. Ash realized the mistake he had made. Now, he really was going to lose Misty, as a possible lover and a friend.

**********

Misty ran as fast as she could back to the elevator not noticing Dylan behind her. The elevator doors’ closed and took her down to the second floor. Once there, she pushed the doors apart wanting to get out of the claustrophobic place as quick as possible. She reached her door and turned the handle, not realizing it was locked. Tears ran down her face as she kicked and punched the door, frustrated that it wouldn’t open.

???: Try the keys.

Misty whirled round startled. In front of her stood Dylan. He lifted up his hand and tenderly wiped the tears from her eyes moving on to stroking her face.

Dylan: (comforting) Come here.

Dylan spreads his arms apart and Misty jolted forward releasing all her misery into his chest.

Dylan: Here, give me your keys.

Misty managed to pull herself away from Dylan and handed him the keys. Once the door was open they walked in. The waterworks started once more in Misty’s eyes as she reached the bed and flopped down onto it, covering her head with her pillow.

Dylan: (calmly) It can’t be that bad Misty.

Misty: (between sobs) Why…. did he…. say that?

Misty took the pillow off her head and through it at the wall. Her eyes were red and tearstained. She sat up on the end of the bed and reached out for a tissue.

Dylan: (sitting next to her) What exactly did he do to you?

Misty: (angry/lying) How about humiliating me in front of public eyes, in front of my friends and….

Dylan: And?

Misty: In front of you.

Dylan blushed but returned the compliment by raising his hand and gently wiping away Misty’s tears with the tissue in her hand. She looked up at him inquisitively but was pleased to have his company.

Dylan: Don’t listen to what he says Misty. He doesn’t know what he’ll be missing if you left. (Coyly) I should know!

Misty: Erm…(sniff) yeah, sorry about that. (Sniff) I just couldn’t handle the pressure, you know, with my parents’….

Dylan: (cutting Misty off) Don’t worry about it. I just wished that you left some kind of note or something to tell me where you were going. I was really worried about you. I had to find out from Daisy after pestering her for hours that you decided to leave home and start your water pokemon journey.

Misty: Yeah, I’m sorry about that too. I did try to call you but you were never in.

Dylan: Yeah. As soon as I heard you’d left, I went in search to look for you but you weren’t anywhere near Cerulean. At the end of the week, I gave up and ended up on my own Pokemon journey.

There was an awkward silence. Misty’s tears had dried up and she was looking like normal again. Her pearl white dress beamed in the light coming from a near by lamp. The effect bounced off her face, making her look tanned and exotic. Dylan’s light blond hair hung slightly over his temples. He was just like Brat Pitt when he wanted to be, thought Misty. His eyes focused on hers, intently and deeply, and she remembered how she always got lost in them back when they were together. He edged closer to her face, running a hand up her back and onto her shoulder and before she knew it, their mouths were locked in a meaningful, kiss.

**********

With his hands in his trousers, Ash staggered towards the Pokemyth Restaurant especially created for Pokemon. He arrived at the door and rung the bell in order to get some service. He waited patiently for several seconds until a small, plump lady came to the front desk.

Plump Lady: May I help you sir?

Ash: Err.. yeah.. erm I left some of my Pokemon here and I’ve come to collect them.

Plump Lady: I see. Please step this way sir.

The blond haired lady pulled away a silky red curtain, which revealed various tables and different sized chairs. Pokemon that were too small, heavy or large sat down on the floor in-groups of four-eight while the others sat at tables. Ash was lead into the restaurant and immediately spotted Pikachu dinning with all his other Pokemon. He casually walked up to Pikachu, leaving the lady behind him, still holding back the curtain.

Ash: Hey everyone!

Ash’s Pokemon: Pikachu / Bulba / Squirtle / Snorlax !

Charizard grunted as he gulped down the last piece of fruit sited on his plate.

Ash: Are you lot ready to go?

Pikachu: (shaking his head no) Pika Chu Chu Pikachu Pika. (We haven’t even had our main courses yet)

Ash: Oh! Haven’t finished yet eh?

The Pokemon slowly nodded their heads in agreement.

Ash: Well, I’ve finished so I err…guess I’ll be heading off.

Pikachu: Pika! (wait!)

Ash: What is it Pikachu?

Pikachu then pulled a small white, oval shape from under the table. It was curled up and obviously sleeping.

Ash: Togepi? How could Misty leave it here?

Then, it hit him. ‘The reason she didn’t come is because I blew her off!’, concluded Ash in his thoughts. He hung his head low so his Pokemon couldn’t see the guilt in his eyes.

Pikachu: Pika Pi? (Ash?)

Ash:  (still had his cap covering his eyes / no emotion) I’ll take Togepi back to Misty. You guys stay here, and (sobbed)  …. finish your meal.

Ash turned holding the sleeping Pokemon in his hand and shot off, as quick as he could.

His Pokemon were left all stunned, even Charizard. They had never seen their master like this before.

Squirtle: Squirtle Squirtle. ( I think something’s bothering him)

Bulbasaur: Bulba Bulba Bulbasaur. ( I agree)

Snorlax: Snor Lax S-Snor Lax. (Maybe we should try and cheer him up?)

Charizard: (did those dragon sorts of grunts and noises) (I hate to admit it but I think your right. I’ve never seen him that down before)

Pikachu: Pika Pi Chu Pika Pikachu. (I’m gunna go check on him and see what’s wrong.)

With that Pikachu left the restaurant and made his way back to their room. He saw Ash in the distance about to step into the elevator.

Pikachu: PIKA PI! (ASH!)

Ash looked back and saw his best friend running up towards him, looking very worried and concerned. He held the elevator as Pikachu jumped up onto his shoulder and nuzzled himself against Ash’s face. The doors opened again and Ash stepped out, feeling slightly better now that he had company. (You can’t exactly call a sleeping Pokemon company, can you). As he reached his door, he took out his key and unlocked it, but he didn’t step inside just yet.

Ash: Pikachu, could you do me a favour?

Pikachu: (nodding) Pikachu!

Ash: Could you give Togepi back to Misty. I would do it myself but…

His voice trailed off, leaving only sadness washed on his face. Pikachu knew now that it was Misty that was on Ash’s mind. He established that they had a real fight, ending up in tragedy. Pikachu nodded and took Togepi from Ash’s hand and made his way next door to Misty’s room. Ash closed the door behind him as he entered his own room.

**********

The kiss broke as Dylan and Misty pulled away from each other. Misty’s eyes were still closed, trying to take in what happened. She finally opened them when she felt a hand tingle down her arms and face. The hand went down and wrapped itself around her waist, pulling her closer again. Just before their lips touched for the second time, there was a knock at the door. Dylan grudgingly pulled back away from Misty’s face.

Dylan: You better get that.

Misty rose up, out of his tight grasp and wandered over towards the door. The handle twisted and the door opened revealing a small yellow rodent holding a white egg.

Misty: Oh Togepi! (bent down and grabbed her Pokemon, giving a good, comforting hug) I’m so sorry I left you. Thanks Pikachu for bringing him back.

Pikachu: Pikachu. Chu, Pi Chu Pika Pi? (No problem. Misty, do you know what’s wrong with Ash?)

Misty flinched. Ash was always the first thing on her mind and as if by coincidence, the last as well.

As she answered Pikachu’s question, she straightened up.

Misty: (sadly) You should ask Ash, not me.

Dylan appeared behind Misty and wrapped his arms around her waist. He looked over her shoulder and saw Togepi in her arms and Pikachu below him. Pikachu stepped back as he saw the light pink lipstick planted on Dylan’s mouth.

Misty: Thanks again Pikachu, but I better go back in. (pointing to Dylan)

The door closed and Pikachu couldn’t believe what he just saw.

Pikachu: Pika Chu Chu Pika? Pikachu? Pi Pikachu Chu Pika Pi. (Misty and Dylan? Together? Maybe that was reason why Ash is so distraught)

Pikachu turned and went back towards his door. Ash had left it unlocked and Pikachu jumped up and somehow managed to turn the handle. He entered and saw Ash lying on the bed closest to the glass patio doors. He was lying on his stomach, face down onto his pillows. Pikachu jumped onto the bed, laying next to Ash, wondering whether or not he was asleep.

Pikachu: (whispering) Pika Pi?

Ash rolled over to face his best friend. His eyes where now red and a single tear trickled down his cheek. He took Pikachu in his arms, knowing how understanding the electric mouse would be. Pikachu tried his best to comfort Ash but, found it hard due to the fact of the size difference. After a few minutes, he was able to speak.

Pikachu: Pikachu Pika Pi? (What’s wrong Ash?)

Ash swivelled up so he sat at the edge of his bed. He replaced his cap (which he took off earlier) and begun to tell Pikachu everything that happened. He told him about picking Misty up at her room, how her parents got divorced, her getting together with Dylan a few years ago, the big argument and even what he felt towards her.

Ash: … And then she ran out the restaurant crying. I don’t want to lose her Pikachu. I think, (pause)  I think I’m in love with her. I didn’t mean to say what I did and I would give anything to take it back.

Pikachu: (sourly) Pikachu. (You have a problem)

Ash: (shouting) I KNOW THAT!

Pikachu: (sweatdropping) Chu Pika! (Calm down Ash!)

Ash: (apologetically) Sorry Pikachu. I don’t mean to shout. It’s just that … (sigh) … When Misty ran out, Dylan ran after her. I can’t help thinking he’s gunna make a move on her.

It was Pikachu’s turn to lower his head this time, trying to decide whether or not what he saw back at Misty’s door was in fact true. It had to be true. It couldn’t have been his imagination, could it? No, it wasn’t his imagination. Dylan did wrap his arms around Misty and he did have Misty’s lipstick over his own lips.

Pikachu: (thinking) Pikachu Chu Pikachu. Chu Pikachu Pika Pi? (thinking)They must have kissed. Should I tell Ash?

Ash: (concerned) What’s wrong Pikachu?

Pikachu sighed. He couldn’t lie to his best friend in the whole world. Not ever. He had to tell Ash, in the best way possible.

Pikachu: (ears lowered) Pikachu Pika Chu Chu Pi Pi Pi Pikachu Ka Chu, Pika Pikachu Kachu. Pika Pi, Chu Pikachu Chu Pi. (When I went to take Togepi to Misty, I saw Dylan with her. Ash, I’m sorry but I think they’re together now.)

Ash’s face dropped as one of the worst things that could happen to him started to take shape. The tears started to well up again and Ash found it very hard to keep them back.

Ash: (tearful) Are you sure?

Pikachu: (sadly) Pikachu Chu Pika Chu Chu Kachu. Pi Chu Pikachu. (When I saw him, he had Misty’s pink lipstick over his lips. They must have just kissed just before I knocked on the door.)

Ash couldn’t believe it. The first person he had ever had feelings for had broken his heart. Ash held his head in his hands and rubbed his eyes, trying to make the tears disappear. He knew that Tracey would be back soon and to avoid any confrontation about his feelings for Misty with him, Ash laid back and quickly tried to fall asleep.

**********

Misty closed the door behind her and Dylan after seeing Pikachu. She quietly placed Togepi on a pillow of her double bed and made sure it was safe. She then made her way towards the patio doors where Dylan stood. He was looking at the stars, staring at them intently and deeply. It was obvious he was thinking about something hard because he was starting to frown.

Misty: What do we do about us now, Dylan?

Dylan turned and once more put his arms around Misty’s waist, pulling her towards him. His left hand then started to creep back up her back and up to her face. He caressed it carefully and smoothly before speaking.

Dylan: (coyly) Well, first… I’m gunna kiss you …. and then ask you something very important. Does that sound OK with you?

Misty: That wasn’t exactly the answer I was looking for but… I guess it will do.

They then leant forward, slowly rubbing their noses around each others cheeks as if searching for their mouths. The target was found and their mouths locked, slowly parting every now and then. When they came back up for air, the question was asked.

Dylan: Come away with me Misty. Will you join me on my Pokemon journey?

**********

Tracey: Maybe we should check on Misty and Ash. I’m getting worried that something’s happened between them.

Corrie: Something has happened to them Tracey. Didn’t you see their faces after that argument?

Tracey: I’m just concerned that’s all.

Jen: Don’t take this to offence Tracey but it’s really none of your business what they do.

Brad: Yeah. If you interfere, you may get your own feelings hurt. It’s best just to stay clear of the subject.

Rachel: If they need you, THEN you can interfere, but not ‘til then. Just keep an eye on them.

Tracey: I guess you’re all right. But what has Dylan got to do with this?

Corrie: Dylan knows Misty because they used to live near each other in Cerulean. They’ve known each other since birth and have been friends ever since. They have always been close to each other but became even closer once Misty’s parents got a divorce.

Jen: And when she says ‘closer’ she means they were a couple.

Brad: Misty and Dylan, a couple? How come I wasn’t told about this?

Rachel: You were.

Brad: Were not

Rachel: Were too

Brad: Were not!

Rachel: Were too!

Brad: Were not!

Rachel: Were too!

Brad: Were too!

Rachel: HA! You admit it!

Brad: Admit what?

Rachel fell head first on the table making a big thump. Luckily, there were no plates or cutlery in front of her.

Rachel: (sighs) Your hopeless.

Brad picked up Rachel’s head off the table and place both of his hands on her face.

Brad: Does that turn you on?

Everyone sweatdropped apart from Brad and Rachel who just giggled between themselves and planted a kiss on each others lips.

Tracey: I take it you two are a couple then?

Brad and Rachel released the kiss and Brad swung an arm around Rachel proving their relationship.

Brad: You got that right!

Tracey: So, THAT explains why you two are always arguing.

Dinner continued as the group consisting of Tracey, Corrie, Jen, Brad and Rachel carried on to mingle and converse and eventually arranged to met the next day for a swim in the morning. With that, they all departed to their own rooms for the night.

**********

Misty was sitting on her balcony in the fresh open air full of the night skies and stars. She was sitting in front of a table, writing in her diary.

Dear diary,

Today has been very long and strenuous on me. We landed on an island and decided to take a break from travelling by staying in a resort named Rest Ashore.

We had to wait to go to our rooms as they were being cleaned so Tracey decided to go and get some drinks. I was alone with Ash, looking for somewhere to sit down around the waterfall in the reception. It was funny because earlier when we just entered the resort, Tracey and Ash thought I was on top of the waterfall about to jump off! Ha! What a laugh!

Anyway, I found a seat sitting with some other teenagers and I called Ash over. I was about to tell Ash about what Rudey asked me to do for him but got cut short when Tracey came back with the drinks. After a battle with Team Rocket Dylan and I were reunited. Yes that’s right, Dylan Dougly or by nickname, Double D.

Somehow when I went to get the keys for our rooms later on, Ash was in a major huff with me. I don’t know why but as he ran off to his room. I decided that maybe it was because of Dylan. So after telling Dylan I’d catch up with him later, I  ran after Ash to find out what’s wrong and invited him to come to dinner with me, alone. That was a big mistake. Although he accepted my offer, Dinner with him was a right disaster.

I told Ash that my parents got a divorce. Man! I hate lying to him. But how could I tell him they were really  murdered? There is no way he would understand what I went through. I don’t want him to take pity on me so I had to lie, but was it the right thing to do?

I explained about Dylan and  me getting together all those years ago to hopefully make it clear to him that I ended the relationship and we were just friends. It didn’t help though when Ash caught me and Dylan holding hands across the table. Because of this, I asked Dylan to leave and then Ash blew up in my face! I still think he was a bit jealous but he didn’t have to tell me to basically get out of his life! I can’t believe he said that. I thought he liked me as a friend. Obviously he doesn’t. I hate him so much, firstly for humiliating me in front of everyone and secondly, for breaking my heart.

I couldn’t stand to be around him anymore so I left, crying my eyes out. Dylan ran after me and as I got to the door, I couldn’t get in. After crying on Dylan’s tuxedo, we went into my room. He comforted me and for the second time that I’ve know him, we ended up kissing. I was astounded to find that I liked being kissed by him. Whether I’m starting to go off Ash and fall madly in love with Dylan, I don’t know, but I definitely liked it. After a small interruption from Pikachu, Dylan and I kissed again and then he asked the big question. He asked me to join him on his Pokemon Journey. I said I’d have to think about it and after sharing one long last kiss, he left, expecting his answer tomorrow.

I know that during the argument with Ash, that I said I was going to leave him for good if that’s what he wanted. Though, I’m not too sure whether I should take up Dylan’s offer. I know that I still have feelings for Ash even when I hate him so much. I just know that if I see him tonight, I might end up arguing again and forcing myself to go. As for my feelings for Dylan, I just don’t know….

Love from a troubled girl,

Mist

Misty looked up from her oceanic patterned diary, trying to make sense of her so far troubled life. She gazed up into the heavens of the stars, wondering if anyone in the great world was having such a complicated love life as she. She turned her head to the right, noticing a silhouette of a boy. He turned his head so he was facing her. Misty drew her breath. It was Ash…

Narrator: What a turn of events! Is Misty really into Dylan so much that she is willing to run off with him? Will Ash convince her to stay or bid her Farwell? Find out, in part 6, coming soon.
